    No such thing!

I've booked the 27&28off work as holiday but if it wasn't for that then I would only have the bank holidays off.

This year we finish on 21st Dec - we should be working on 24th Dec but as it is a Monday we've been given it as an extra day off. Then we return 2nd Jan.

I have used annual leave so that I stop work next Wednesday (i.e. last day in work is Tues 11th Dec) but my actual 'maternity leave' doesn't start until 2nd Jan. Just 'cause I wanted to make full use of the bank holidays and extra closure day!

Finish the 24th about 2100 this year, then I have the 25th, 26th and 27th off.

Back in the 28th til the 2nd and am off for week cause its my burfday! (never worked or been in school on my birthday yet- this is much more important to me than New Year!

Edit- this is a mix of using holiday days (we have to use a hol for xmas day and BD even tho we can't even go in to work- not that we would!) and my normal days off!

We close at lunchtime on the 21st for our party. The office is closed for the whole of the following week (but we have to take it as annual leave) and re-opens on the 2nd, although I'm taking that week (well, 3 days) off as it's tech week for panto and I don't like to miss anything.

We finish at lunchtime on 21st December.

Although we do need to be contactable on working days over the Xmas period, most clients are off. I think in the three Christmas's I have worked here, I have had to answer three emails.

I've managed to get the 25th and 26th off this year and I can't wait! I had to work the early shift last year and cried most of the way through because I missed out on seeing my little girl opening her presents ?

I'm finishing on the 14th and off the Center Parcs for the weekend. We are going with friends and have one of the uber-posh lodges with a hot tub.

Mr O has some important bits at work coming up so won't finish until 21st. I am filling up my free week quite quickly with a haircut, a spa day and two girlie lunches planned so far.

I LOVE time off. And food. Which is why I love Christmas time so much.

Other than the bank holidays, you only get time off if you book it off. I've got 17th to 20th booked off after the wedding and that's it.

I work all over christmas, including Christmas Day. I'm so unbelievably jealous of people with time off (and get so mad when people moan they 'only' have 2 weeks off, grr!)

OH is working until the 24th and then is off until the 2nd (I think he's working from home on the 21st and 24th tho) and boy breaks up on the 21st and is back at school on the 7th.

I'll prob not work on the 24-27th but then will work the rest of the time except NYE and NYD as we have friends stopping over

We only get the bank holidays and then are forced to take one extra day as holiday a year (this year it's the 24th). However, I booked off the days in between so finish on the 21st (straight to our Xmas party!) then back on the 2nd.

We close midday on the 21st, but because I'm part-time my "non working" days are Thurs & Fri, so I'll finish on the 19th.

We reopen on the 2nd, but as I'd only be working one day that week, I've booked it off.

We are usually expected to use our Holiday entitlement for the period between Christmas & New Year, but last year a group of staff rebelled and said that if the Trustee's wish to close the building with no option given to work between Christmas & New Year, we shouldn't have to use our holidays for it. This year we don't have to give up our holidays.

Finish 7pm on 24th. Well, that's the plan. Could be later if I get a late job (only just got home tonight after allegedly finishing at 7!). Due to booking leave, I'm not back until 29th Smiley smile

Other years I've worked all over Christmas - ugh!

Normally, I'd just get the bank holidays off, if I was lucky enough to not be on-call. But I've taken some AL, so I'll finish on the 21st and not go back till the 2nd Jan - woohoo!

I realised I've not had any AL since starting this job in August - I am well in need of a break!

Officially we finish 21st, but schools don't want us in for that last week of term, so I think I will be working from home a lot! Yay. Back on 7th Jan!

OH on the other hand doesn't break for Christmas...he's working Christmas day and Boxing day [:'(] The first one he has had to work so will be weird. Hoping he'll be able to book it off next year as our first as a married couple.

I only work Thurs and Fri so I've only had to take 2 days holiday this year.

We're open every day apart from Christmas day an boxing day. Then new years day and two days after.

But this year (for the first in 8 3/4 years since I started) I am working Christmas eve and that's it! I'm off for the remaining two weeks! Unbelievably excited. I'm also ony working 7-1pm on Christmas eve too and college breaks up on the 16th so I've got loads of Christmassy time this year!!

I'm so jelous of everyone who gets extra time off over christmas. We have to work until 7pm on Christmas eve. Then we open again the day after boxing day. I really hope we don't have any patients who need to stay in after christmas eve, otherwise I know I will be the one who has to deal with them and go in on Christmas day.
