Ceremony Music Question

JustSara, 24 January, 2013 at 12:19 Posted on Just Married 0 14

Hello all happy couples,

I'm looking to put on a wedding music showcase in Torquay, Devon, specifically for Ceremony music in order to provide planning brides and grooms some inspriation. In order to get an up to date idea of what should go in I'm asking prospective brides and those already married what they're planning to have and what they have had for their Ceremony music.

All replies would be most appreciated, please include the name of the peice / song and if possibe who it's by, plus what it was used for, entrance/ exchanging of vows / signing of the registry/exit.

Thanks in advance : ) All best wishes for much future happiness! ?

We had a civil ceremony and wanted to have music we liked, rather than formal. We had a few tracks from Vitamin String Quartet for our music before the ceremony - we didn't want too cheesy, so this seemed a nice balance of traditional and modern

    I walked in to Pachelbel

Then a selection of modern, romanic songs e.g Madness - It must be Love, Queen - you're my best friend, Coldplay etc during signing of the register

Then we walked out to Beach Boys 'Wouldnt it be nice'

For my wedding on march 30th 2013 i used pachelbel canon in d by london symphony orchestra, because this version is more cheerful and has peak points in the music, got my bridal party to enter on the 2nd lot of violins that kicked in in the piece of music then i waited until the music fully peaks at around 1min 43 secs in and then i entered, my wedding guest came to me at my reception after and said that when i did that i gave every single on of them goose bumps

    Hello,

For our wedding on 29th March 2013 we had a fantastic string trio. Before the ceremony they played a selection of classical and modern pieces, for my entrance it was 'Can't help falling in love' by Elvis Presley, signing the register it was 'Hoppipolla' by Sigur Ross (which was just beautiful) then our exit was 'One day like this' by Elbow.

Many of our guests told us it was lovely to hear contemporary music rather than the usual classical pieces played but thats obviously personal taste.

I arrived to 'here, there and everywhere' by the Beatles.

Like phoebe did on friends, but hers was played by a steel drum band.

And we signed the register to 'rainbow connection' from the muppet movie :-)
