Finally ready to make an album

soraneko, 8 May, 2017 at 19:13 Posted on Just Married 0 3

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has made their own wedding albums or got it done by someone other than their original TOG? Unfortunately we had a big fall out with ours because we weren't happy with the results and he won't want anything to do with us anymore...

Nearly one year on and we would like an album of professional and family photos to celebrate our "paper" anniversary.

We know we could easily put together a photobook, but the one that we always talked about getting was like the Jorgensen Fusion album: http://www.jorgensenalbums.com/albums-2/albums/fusion-album/

However, the ones I have found online appear to only allow them to be ordered by professional TOGs. I could be wrong so if any TOGs know different please can you advise? It seems a little unfair we can't have the album we want just because our photographer seemingly had a (REALLY) 'off' day Smiley sad

Hi! I'm a wedding photographer. I don't supply Jorgensen albums, but I think you should be able to find someone who does. Also, I think the album on your link is similar to a Queensberry Duo so you may find that it's easier to get it if you ask for Jorgensen OR Queensberry Duo.

Did you ever get a quote from him? I believe these are quite expensive albums and would retail at least £600+

The other issue you may encounter is that if the photos fall below the standard of the photographer who supplies the album you may need to pay re-editing costs to make the images look better in the album.

    Hi Paula,
Thank you for your help, Queensberry is another one that I've been looking at Smiley smile
He quoted me "a simple black cover (leather like), with 15 pages, 30 sides, with 50 images. The best price to you would be £495." and part of our falling out included him giving us the RAW files and throwing all of his toys out of the pram -eye roll-

    Hi Paula,

Thank you for your help, Queensberry is another one that I've been looking at Smiley smile

He quoted me "a simple black cover (leather like), with 15 pages, 30 sides, with 50 images would be £495" and part of our falling out included him giving us the RAW files and throwing all of his toys out of the pram -eye roll- Which does mean that we should have the highest quality photos and my dad's a graphic designer and has done some minimalist editing done to jsut make them 'pop' a bit for us

Do you have any idea as to how we'd be able to get the album done?

That is such a shame you didn't get the results you wanted which resulted in a fall out, what a nightmare!

I have only just done something small in the mean time with a free photobook I won through Mcdonalds monopoly voucher, Im actually delighted with it and have given it my mum to keep but I will be ordering a larger one for myself.

Ideally I want to print every photo I have and pop them in an album but sadly we lost alot when the hard drive broke....still feel sick thinking about it!

With the photos I have I want to make a scrapbook and add personal touches and notes but its finding the time and patience to do it but it will be worth it when it is passed down for my children as it is more personal.

I hope you manage to collect other photos from friends to add to your collection, only just this week my friend has sent me over some pictures I have never seen from our wedding last year.

    Good luck

    Amanda

We just did ours using Bonus Print. They had an offer on for a large photo book with 80 pages for £25 (instead of £71ish) :

    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/deals/bonusprint

We then spent an extra £20 on the "lay flat" premium.

You can pay a bit more for a high gloss finish too, but we didn't feel this was necessary. Received the book two days ago and soooo pleased Smiley smile I loved the process of making it too (it was a labour of love!) because you can be really flexible with the layout / size / shape of photos etc (especially with the lay flat option, photos can go right across the double page spread).

Hope you find something that suits you Smiley smile
