items to construct a brooch bouquet

ANJELICANJ, 11 November, 2012 at 10:47 Posted on For Sale 0 8

Hi all

I have made myself a brooch bouquet for my wedding. After trying various methods, I actually used a lampshade to construct my boquet as it makes it very sturdy and easy to get the right shape. I have one spare as I bought two in case I messed the first one up! It is white wire effect, a bit like mesh, and you just slot the wired brooches through and tape them at the bottom. I also have some dowel left over for the handle. If you are intersted let me know . Pics below of the lampshade and dowel, and my bouquet at the moment to give you an idea of the nearly finished product - I am currently filling in with beads and have got ribbon for the handle. I would like £10 for the lampshade and handle (yours would come as seperates, not glued up). Collection from Plymouth or can post for £5.

Hi hun, I do still have one but its a light brown/sandy colour not white, not that it really makes a difference you wont see it when its finished. I bought another as was going to make one for my MOH but im not going to have time. I could sell you that one but sorry I wouldnt be able to do both for £10 as i think ive still got the receipt to return x

Hi hun, its not actually that hard just very time consuming. well the hard part is how to put it together, i tried a few ways and this was perfect as its easy to do and so sturdy. I actually typed up instructions of how I did it for the lady who bought my original spare lampshhde i would be more than happy to forward to you if you were intersted to have a look :-) xxx

I love this idea and your result looks amazing!

I've really wanted to make my own bouquet but it seems an impossible task, I'm having a steampunk wedding so lots of cogs and clock parts and vintage things.

Can I be cheeky and ask for a copy of the instructions of how you attached the brooches? I will be going on a hunt for a similary light shade to start practicing!

    Thanks for the great idea!

Okikokikate - I have sent you an email so you can gauge size :-)

Claire - thank you :-) more than happy to send you the instructions whats your email? Its very time consuming - wiring up all the brooches took me at least 40 hours! worth it tho in the end!! I then had a nightmare tried so many way of putting it together - oasis, artificial hydranga flower, just the brooches on their own and i just couldnt get it to go right or be sturdy, so i thought what I need is a ball shape that I can attach them thru like a frame... then by chance saw these lampshades and thought perfect lol!! I may have a spare lampshade if you want it dep if Kate wants it?

For the handle I then bought a new repacement garden spade handle - reason being its very sturdy and already finished - sanded and clear glossed. That worked perfect :-)

Anyway as I say if you give me your email I will send you them an I bet your bouquet with all those bits on would look fantastic!

    xxx
