So I am married now..

katej23, 9 September, 2013 at 20:31 Posted on Just Married 0 6

Okay, this is going to sound massively pathetic..

I got married on Friday & I am so gutted now. It all went so fast and the day I have been looking forward to for the past 2 years is over.

it was all such a fast blur and I had to go back to work two days later (due to lack of annual leave) and I don't go on honeymoons for another 6 weeks.

Is this normal? Did anyone else feel like this? I definitely know that I love my OH, that's not the problem. It's just a bit of an anti-climax Smiley sad

It is quite common to get post wedding blues. I properly best to find a new project to focus your attention on like DIY or holidays, like your honeymoon Smiley smile

Yep, perfectly normal. We went on honeymoon straight away so it wasn't too bad but I did get the post wedding blues when we got back from honeymoon. Looking at the TOG pics, deciding on wedding albums, picking thank you card designs etc helped a bit but eventually, you'll find yourself thinking about the come-down less and less. Getting back into your normal everyday routine will help also.

It's not pathetic, it's understandable! How are you feeling now?

I got married on Sept 20th but am doing OK so far as there's been loads going on. We also went on holiday 9 days after the wedding. I've just had the professional pics & our video is due soon too. I'm expecting a bit of a crash once I've printed the pics & seen the video & it's all fully over.

You must be on your honeymoon now so that's hopefully cheered you up!

You've got your honeymoon to look forward to now.

I didn't feel any different at first but now my mind is just a pile of mush as I was such a stress head before the wedding.

I'm focusing on the wedding photos (we are having a couple of photo box albums done as Christmas present for people) and also buying Christmas presents.

We haven't got as far as planning a honeymoon yet so that may be next on the list - we got married abroad and had friends and family there for the full two weeks so we didn't get any alone time…certainly not something I would do again!

Lots of people go through it apparently…you've had the happiest day of your life, other days seem boringly average…

Get your holiday clothes out and focus on what you'll be wearing (or not ?)

    xx

I got married in September and felt a bit deflated afterwards, I think that's normal, it's such a huge build up that takes up so much of your time and your head.

You have the honeymoon to look forward to and the photos and your first Xmas together. It'll settle down soon but I'm pretty certain every bride goes through this.
