Have any of you trusted special dry clean only items in at the most specialised of dry cleaners only to collect your item and find it ruined? Probably. Well,...
I entrusted my wedding dress (got married 2 months ago) in at the montpellier dry cleaners -specialising in cleaning wedding dresses - and collected it minus the swarovski crystals and still dirty. Since I am a good South African lady married to a local englishman it was appropriate to have a wedding celebration do with our friends and family from here who couldn't come to our wedding in south africa. My wedding dress was too damaged to wear to the do here and I had to buy a dress from Coast to wear to the cocktail evening we arranged for here.
Johnsons dry cleaners head office in (I think Liverpool) called me today to let me know they won't carry the cost to have my dress fixed ( 212 pounds) . I feel wronged and treated unfairly. I paid 70 pounds to have my dress cleaned by professionals and received it back damaged and still dirty, I had to purchase a dress to wear to our celebration evening here and now have to pay to have my wedding dress fixed after I entrusted it into professional cleaners hands.
Since I have taken it to the wedding dress I bought it from to quote me costs of having it repaired. We have also taken photos of damages and also of the shop outside where they advertise that they clean wedding dresses. Their reasoning is that I signed a form saying I wont keep them responsible for damages to outfits. But hey, do I sit with a dirty dress and don't trust supposed expertise to clean it, or do I pay them money to have it done ? I am at my wits end, really upset and don't feel like just being walked over. It is a stunning Augusta Jones 2008 dress and I still want to sell it when it is repaired back to the BEFORE!!!
