Free/discounted services required for last minute wedding due to terminal illness

Andrea, 2 December, 2024 at 03:23 Posted on Wanted 0 3
Hi
My partner of 18 years has been battling a T4 malignant tumour in his oesophagus over the past year. Many rounds of chemo, infections, a full stomach removal and partial oesophagus removal later and he's recently found 3 lumps. He was referred for a PET scan when ultrasound and CT scans were inconclusive.

We're devastated with the findings. The cancer has escaped the original site, grown and spread throughout his body. Palliative treatment is now the only option and he's been told he has months rather than years left.
Medical evidence proving the above can be provided to any suppliers serious about helping us out.
We've decided to get married and wanting the wedding asap whilst he's still feeling ok, have booked the ceremony for 4th January 2025. The ceremony room has been paid for. We've also booked a function room in the restaurant next door to the ceremony venue.
We're only having a small intimate immediate family only wedding - so 21 guests plus the two of us. We're based in Oldham, North Manchester. We're not having a evening party/DJ etc just drinks after the meal, hopefully with a live singer.
If any suppliers can donate or provide at reduced cost any of the following it would be hugely appreciated:
- Wedding Dress- Suit for the groom and best man- Rings- Flowers (we only need a small bridal bouquet, 2x bridesmaid bouquets and buttonholes for the groom, best man and man giving me away - happy for someone training to provide for the experience/portfolio)- Wedding Cake (only a small, one tier cake to provide 22-25 servings is required - happy for someone who does cakes as a hobby to provide).- Hair styling (for me and X2 bridesmaids)- Photography/Videography (happy for a student/amateur photographer/videographer looking for experience/portfolio content)- Table/Room decorations and centrepieces.- Live singer/band (or jukebox even) for 90-120 minutes after the meal.- Honeymoon accomodation (in the UK)
I expect this is a big ask, but if anyone who can provide any of the above is willing to help us out either gifting their service or offering a reduction it would make planning and affording our special and emotional day so much easier.
Thank you.

Andrea, I’m so sorry to hear about what you and your partner are going through. It’s incredibly moving that you’re creating this special day together despite the circumstances. While I can’t personally help with wedding services, I just wanted to say your post is a reminder of how important trusted local support is in every part of life. Whether it’s planning a wedding or even something practical like keeping a home safe through a Licensed inspected roof service TN , having reliable people to lean on makes all the difference. I truly hope some generous suppliers step forward to help make your day beautiful, meaningful, and as stress-free as possible. Wishing you both strength, peace, and a wonderful wedding celebration.

So given that due to our circumstances I was asking for wedding services to donate their time & service in order to help us out (of which many very kind, warm hearted individuals did do) in return for us giving them a shout out/tagging them/posting photos of the service they donated (IE flowers) on social media - am I correct in assuming that you are kindly offering to donate your time and service in coming to help us out in keeping our kitchen clean?
If so, Id be delighted to take up this kind offer as it would indeed help us out at this difficult time.

If however you are trying to use my post to try to promote your non-wedding related business and to try to cash in on the devastating situation my husband (and I) find ourselves in - then shame on you! I hope it is the former that you are offering, but suspect it's the latter.
