How long for photos

Emma, 31 August, 2021 at 02:27 Posted on Just Married 0 7
It's been just over three weeks but the photographer said a week to ten days. I'm worried he's lost them. Even more annoying as he left really early due to a family emergency so we didn't even get half the photos we wanted. I'm trying to not focus on the negative as am sure he got loads at the church and they're on there way.

Also should we be asking for a refund and of so how much. I feel 50% due to not getting any at the reception is that too harsh?

Have you spoken to him about the delay? Most photographers have a backup plan in situation like this, so of they're ill or called away early for whatever reason there's someone else to step in and take over. This obviously hasn't been done and I'd 100% want compensation for not receiving the service I'd paid for and for the delay in receiving the pictures that were taken.

If he's not replying I'd threaten small claims court and leaving him a negative review, at the end of the day, he's not provided a service you've paid for, and is now late delivering on the photos he does have and is now not replying, it's far from professional behaviour x

Check your contract, ours states if he cannot fulfil the service ( which in our case is 10hours coverage) he will provide alternative photographer or refund in full if cant attend and then pro rata percentage if he left half way, like yours has. I would send an email referencing your messages and acknowledge you know he is busy but as he said a week or so and as has been 3 you are wondering if he can provide an expected ETA for the photos to be sent and ask him to respond within 3 working days Don't mention about refund etc until after you have received them as this could make him stop editing and not provide anything. Once you have them then start the conversation, but as before, check if there were provision in the contract and quote that if there was. If there wasn't cover then this will make it harder but not impossible to negotiate, at the end of the day he is running a business so wont want bed reviews so am sure will do the right thing. I wouldn't threaten small claims unless you are prepared to go through with it, also, you don't know what may have happened in the meantime with family so this could be a genuine delay. If still no joy then yes go down the route of taking it further but my experience is to try and resolve politely and amicably first, threatening action is only going to get his back up and you will end up with a stressful situation which could take months to resolve the the courts

    Hi All
Thanks for all your suggestions. We've sent another email off and WhatsApp.
My husband rang and he answered his number! Said they'd be ready on Friday, well it's now Monday and no sign. He's now not answering my husband's mobile number either.
He read the first few and now they're just two grey ticks for delivered. We read the contract and it said two weeks for photos and also about of henhas to cancel refund etc. So at least that's proof if we have to go down the small claims route.
Getting upset thinking he's deleted them or something.
    Thanks gals x
P.s. still feels weird writing my husband 💁🏼‍♀️

For any missed coverage it should be a refund pro rata percentage the hours missed. Its odd that he has not mentioned what the family emergency was. I understand that any medical issues are a private matter but if it were me I would be explaining what happened and why I haven't delivered your photos yet, only seems fair to me.

Certainly do not go straight to "death con 5" at this stage. They will not of deleted the images on purpose.

    How much did you pay.

Have they been posting anywhere weddings that they have done since yours.
