Selling wedding dress

Hi everyone,

I hope you can help - I've made the difficult decision to sell my wedding dress. The wedding has left us somewhat short of money and I could really use some extra cash, I've had the dress cleaned already and it's still in excellent condition.

Can anyone recommend a good place to start? I've looked on a number of websites but most of them seem to charge to list your dress. Is Ebay the best way to go? Has anyone else had a good experience selling their dress on any site?

Any advice/experience would be appreciated!

    Mine is listed on Preloved, Gumtree and some other forums for free.

    Hitched will only adverts up to £50.

    I have also listed mine on Sellmyweddingdress which is £15 for the year.

    I tried eBay last year but the listing fees added up to about £25.

    Wedding dresses are so expensive, my big day is in december and I have been loosing sleep over how I am going to afford it. My friend told me I could hire a designer wedding dress from this website called www.wishwantwear.com? Have any of you guys used it before? She told me they were really professional and the stylist helped her choose the perfect dress- but Im a little iffy on hiring my wedding dress. Any suggestions!!! Please help!

    I'm also thinking of selling mine but I am interested in how much it might sell for.

    I've had a look at a few websites but only ebay allows you to search for completed sales and so far I haven't found one that has gone for more than £60, which wouldn't even cover the cleaning costs.

    Has anybody managed to get anything more substantial from their dress and if so which site dii you use?
