Teacups, Bunting or Fairy Lights

Apey, 13 of January of 2015 at 23:58 Posted on Wanted 0 7

Hello everyone Smiley smile

My fiancée and I have decided to do a D.I.Y wedding *gulp*. We're roughly doing a Spring/English vintage theme wedding and as such have begun to hunt for teacups and saucers, bunting and warm white fairy lights.

If anyone has any of the above to loan or sell for a reasonable price, please do get in touch Smiley smile

Kind regards,

April

    Hi Apey,

I don't have any bunting etc to offer, but I am also doing the DIY thing. I am making my own bunting and have worked out it is cheapest to buy coloured bedding/ sheets in appropriate colours and cut it into the right shape size. As my sewing skills are limited, and i need lots of bunting, i am cutting out the triangles using pinking scissors and then will just sew them together with bias binding.

Just a thought in case you can do this too

    good luck Smiley smile

    Hi Lucypt,

What a great idea about the sheets Smiley smile

My sewing skills are non-existent! I'm not even sure what bias binding is, haha. But will figure something out I'm sure!

    Thank you for the tips,

    Hope your day is wonderful!

    Thanks April.

I only know what bias binding is because of FMIL!! It's a type of ribbon which goes along the top to hold the flags in place, apparently it doesnt stretch like other ribbons!!!

    happy wedding planning!

Hi, we were going to do a day vintage theme. I have lots of crockery, plates, cups, saucers a couple of teapots, coffee cup and saucers and even some bowls. Even some two tier cupcake stands. All packed away neatly in the garage.

Where are you based? I'm just outside Bedford.

    Hi there,

Thank you for your message, that sounds marvellous!

I'm based in London, but we have relatives near Letchworth so could quite easily arrange to meet you somewhere I'm sure.

Do you have a rough idea of how many of each item you have? And do you have an idea of what you'd like for them?

    Kindly,

    April

    Hi there,

I was going to do something similar but as I've changed my venue I have 12 x 8 metre lengths of bunting that I don't need. Cost me about £60 in total. I've also got 4 packs of 'vintage rose' party poppers that I could throw in.

P.s. I'm also based in London, so depending on where you're located I could drop them off for you in exchange for a decent bottle of prosecco.
