Wedding Blues - What to do about it to snap out of it?

shri, 16 June, 2025 at 12:16 Posted on Just Married 0 19

I got married end of May in Italy, and it was such an incredible day. I've not been the type to dream about weddings growing up nor was I super stressed the last year until 1 month prior to the wedding where so many things had to be done. The wedding didn't go to plan but in all honesty, it was the beauty about it and made it such a fabulous day. However, I'm really feeling the wedding blues since the day. My husband travels a lot for work so during the wedding week he had to fly out and he was back in town 2 days before the wedding and then we spent the days after the wedding with my family as they were visiting from England to attend our wedding in Italy. Then after everyone left, I felt a great deal of emptiness and then we had to fly to New York to attend our friends wedding and when we landed last Monday, it was straight back into work and my partner had to fly out again. I'm feeling quite empty inside and would love to rewind time to 16th May - this was the day we were making our way over to Italy to settle in 2 weeks before the big day. I keep reminiscing about this time 4 weeks ago and I'm feeling too attached to the past. I'd like to move forward, I've tried to pick up new hobbies and distract myself but I dont feel like its helping much. Any advice?

Be kind to yourself - it's still early days. There is nothing wrong with reliving memories from such a special day, especially so soon after the event. Maybe putting together your wedding album or another wedding-memorabilia-related craft might be a good way of lifting your spirits and helping you gradually move on. It might also help to start planning something else - perhaps book a holiday in a location you haven't visited before and start reading up about the area so that you have something to look forward to.

If this feeling continues for a long period or it is seriously affecting your day to day life, then don't be afraid to seek professional help. But otherwise, it should pass soon.

It sounds like you had a truly magical wedding in Italy, even with the unexpected twists, and it's completely understandable that you're feeling a sense of emptiness and longing for that time. What you're experiencing is often called the post-wedding blues, and it's a very common, though often unspoken, phenomenon. It's especially pronounced when there's been a significant build-up to an event, followed by a sudden return to routine, and in your case.

Hello! I recently started playing at Vinci Spin Casino and have been very pleased. It has a user-friendly interface, excellent slots, and generous bonuses. Withdrawals were processed without any issues, which is rare. Everything is fair and transparent. I personally recommend it!

To "snap out of it" and improve your mood, try distracting yourself with enjoyable activities, talking to yourself kindly, or engaging in physical activity like a walk or light workout. If these don't help, consider more structured approaches like breathing exercises, meditation, or even seeking support from a friend or therapist.

I live in Halifax and tried spinmacho casino after seeing a friend post about it online. I started with slots and initially had a few small losses, but then a bonus triggered and I ended up with a satisfying win. The site is well-designed, very responsive, and switching between different games is simple. It’s great to have a platform where I can enjoy both slots and table games without dealing with clutter or lag, making the whole experience enjoyable and stress-free.

It's completely normal to feel that post-wedding slump after all the buildup! To snap out of it, plan a small, fun activity to look forward to, like a cozy "mini-moon" weekend or a hobby you'd postponed. I actually felt a similar low after a big project launch, compounded by the stress of authenticating our marriage certificate for my spouse's visa. We used a service that offered expedited apostille services through a private courier, Federal Apostille Service, which handled the urgent pickup and secure mailing. This removed a major logistical stressor, allowing us to focus on reconnecting, even though the final processing was, of course, still subject to the government offices. Getting that task off our plates was a huge mood-lifter.

After a tenant fit-out or a personal renovation in Business Bay, the problem isn't just debris—it’s the insidious fine construction dust that settles everywhere. This dust can easily scratch new glass and damage expensive office or home interiors. Post-renovation cleaning is a task for specialized professional cleaning services, not standard house cleaning tools.

I always rely on experts for this crucial cleanup. They use industrial equipment and specific protocols to safely remove all traces of plaster and cement dust. If you’ve finished a renovation in Business Bay and need a guaranteed flawless cleanup before moving in, save your time and book the professionals here: SuperTrust cleaners Business Bay . It sounds like your wedding was such a beautiful and meaningful experience — even with the unexpected twists, it clearly left a lasting imprint on your heart. It’s completely natural to feel a bit lost afterward; Repelisplus you spent months building up to one of the biggest moments of your life, surrounded by love, family, and celebration. When all of that quiets down, the contrast can feel almost overwhelming.

Oh lovely, I completely get this 💕 What you’re feeling is honestly so normal — a lot of us go through the post-wedding blues without expecting it. You’ve spent months (maybe years!) building up to this beautiful day, and suddenly… it’s over, everyone goes home, and life just sort of snaps back to “normal.” It’s such a huge emotional shift.

It sounds like your wedding and the lead-up were magical — and that’s exactly why you miss it so much. It’s not that you’re unhappy now, it’s just that your brain hasn’t caught up with the calm after all that excitement and purpose. Add to that your husband being away and no time to properly “land” after travelling — it’s no wonder you’re feeling a bit lost.

A few gentle ideas that might help:
✨ Try to re-live the memories intentionally — make a small ritual of it rather than trying to avoid them. Maybe put together your photo album, print a few favourites, or plan a little “Italian night” at home to celebrate the memories in a happy way.
🌿 Plan small things to look forward to — a weekend together when he’s home, or even just a cosy date night. It gives your mind something new to focus on.
💬 Talk about it — sometimes telling your partner how you feel (without guilt!) helps them understand that it’s not about the marriage, just the big emotional drop after the high.
🧘‍♀️ And honestly, give yourself time. It can take a few months to adjust. The fact that you’re aware of it and trying new things already shows you’re moving forward.

You’re not alone in this — it will pass, and soon those feelings will shift from sadness to warmth and nostalgia instead. Sending you a big virtual hug 🤍

Give yourself time: It’s okay to feel nostalgic about the big day, but don’t feel like you have to "move on" right away. It takes time to adjust after such a significant life event.

Focus on your marriage: With your husband traveling a lot, it can be tough, but make the most of your time together when he’s home. Set aside some quality time to enjoy each other’s company and celebrate your new chapter.

New activities: It’s great you’re trying new hobbies! Sometimes it takes a bit of trial and error to find something that fully captures your interest. Maybe try something more social, like joining a class or group that focuses on something you’re passionate about.

Create new memories: Plan a small getaway, a date night, or something fun together to keep the excitement of your new life as a married couple alive.

Talk it out: Sometimes just talking to friends or family who understand can really help you process your emotions. You’re not alone, and they’ll probably have gone through similar feelings.

Acknowledge your feelings: It’s okay to feel nostalgic and miss the excitement of the lead-up. Give yourself permission to feel this way without guilt.

Focus on your relationship: With your husband traveling often, make the most of the time you do have together. Even small, intentional moments of connection can help.

Find new goals: Since you’ve already tried hobbies, maybe try setting new goals together as a couple, like planning another small trip or working on a shared project, to reignite that excitement.

Talk about it: Sometimes sharing your feelings with your partner or close friends can help you process everything. They might feel the same way and can help you move forward.

Create new routines: If life feels too routine right now, change it up a bit. Doing something different (even small things) can help you break the cycle and focus on the future.

I like that Verde Casino doesn't try to impress with excessive design. Instead, the focus is clearly on functionality and security. The games open quickly and run smoothly. The wide range of deposit options is a plus. A casino with a functional design. https://verdecasino.co.de

I know that feeling of being stuck under a cloud. When I was overwhelmed planning my own wedding, I found it helped to delegate one big, concrete task to a trusted pro to clear mental space. In our work, that "cloud" is often a vague budget. A bad structural steel estimates error once stressed me out for weeks, bleeding into everything. I now delegate that precision to Budgeting Enterprise. Their data-driven clarity cuts through the fog, giving you the peace of mind you deserve to focus on what truly matters.
