Wedding Blues - What to do about it to snap out of it?

shri, 16 June, 2025 at 12:16 Posted on Just Married 0 5

I got married end of May in Italy, and it was such an incredible day. I've not been the type to dream about weddings growing up nor was I super stressed the last year until 1 month prior to the wedding where so many things had to be done. The wedding didn't go to plan but in all honesty, it was the beauty about it and made it such a fabulous day. However, I'm really feeling the wedding blues since the day. My husband travels a lot for work so during the wedding week he had to fly out and he was back in town 2 days before the wedding and then we spent the days after the wedding with my family as they were visiting from England to attend our wedding in Italy. Then after everyone left, I felt a great deal of emptiness and then we had to fly to New York to attend our friends wedding and when we landed last Monday, it was straight back into work and my partner had to fly out again. I'm feeling quite empty inside and would love to rewind time to 16th May - this was the day we were making our way over to Italy to settle in 2 weeks before the big day. I keep reminiscing about this time 4 weeks ago and I'm feeling too attached to the past. I'd like to move forward, I've tried to pick up new hobbies and distract myself but I dont feel like its helping much. Any advice?

Be kind to yourself - it's still early days. There is nothing wrong with reliving memories from such a special day, especially so soon after the event. Maybe putting together your wedding album or another wedding-memorabilia-related craft might be a good way of lifting your spirits and helping you gradually move on. It might also help to start planning something else - perhaps book a holiday in a location you haven't visited before and start reading up about the area so that you have something to look forward to.

If this feeling continues for a long period or it is seriously affecting your day to day life, then don't be afraid to seek professional help. But otherwise, it should pass soon.

It sounds like you had a truly magical wedding in Italy, even with the unexpected twists, and it's completely understandable that you're feeling a sense of emptiness and longing for that time. What you're experiencing is often called the post-wedding blues, and it's a very common, though often unspoken, phenomenon. It's especially pronounced when there's been a significant build-up to an event, followed by a sudden return to routine, and in your case.

Hello! I recently started playing at Vinci Spin Casino and have been very pleased. It has a user-friendly interface, excellent slots, and generous bonuses. Withdrawals were processed without any issues, which is rare. Everything is fair and transparent. I personally recommend it!

To "snap out of it" and improve your mood, try distracting yourself with enjoyable activities, talking to yourself kindly, or engaging in physical activity like a walk or light workout. If these don't help, consider more structured approaches like breathing exercises, meditation, or even seeking support from a friend or therapist.
