Witnesses for secret wedding

Hello!

So me and my partner are booked in to the local Town Hall to be married on August 29th for a secret wedding!

The only problem is we need to find two witnesses. We don't have any family members or friends who could witness us so we're hoping to find two random people to help us out.

Has anyone had to find witnesses for their secret wedding before? If so how did you go about it?

    You could post on a local community page on Facebook (make sure it’s anonymous posting!) or we asked hotel staff to come to ours Smiley smile

    Do you have colleagues you could ask? People who you might not invite to a proper wedding, but people you know enough that they might give up 30mins of their day for you.

    Im a Registrar (planning my own wedding which is why i'm on here) and have married lots of couples who have chosen witnesses last minute, often asking people in the street or from nearby businesses. Generally I've found people love the opportunity to witness a wedding and have never had anyone not find anyone!

    We had this problem!
    We eventually asked a work colleague who we knew could be trusted to be absolutely discreet. We asked if he could bring a plus one!
    Went to a nearby pub afterwards for a drink.All sorted and we had a lovely day. Where are you? We might be able to help.
