I made a christmas cake at the weekend and have just realised I used a 12 inch recipe but a 10 inch tin (I'm sure it was 12!) Have I ruined the cake or do you think it will be ok?

Does anyone have a good recipe for a bean chilli? Am thinking of doing that and a beef chilli with tacos for a dinner party next week but would ideally like a recommended recipe please
