Hi all.. Hitched newbie here..

I'm planning on getting married on the 3rd of September 2016. (nothing booked yet)

There's a reason I'm hoping to have this date as it will be 25 years (and 2 days) after me and my other half first got together.

We met when I was 15 and he was nearly 23.

Yes, I know it was bad because of my age, but we've proved everyone wrong by sticking together through thick and thin and we're still as in love as we were then.

Oh yes, I see the 2015 bride thread started in April 2013, so we aren't all quite as eager/organised as we might sometimes feel!xx

sarah1976 (sorry don't know how to double quote!) - Lovely story our date is when we've been together exactly 6 and a half years (wanted a summer weddding) so I like your reasoning Let me know if you'd like me to add you to the list!

Went to the East of England Cupids wedding show today, it was great & all suppliers that we spoke to from cars, to mens formal wear, to venue decorators are taking bookings for 2016! xx

I love this, makes it more real! My bar at the bottom of hitched is telling me there are 880 days to go! Seems ages when it's put like that but yesterday we passed another month mark. (One day less than) 2 years, 5 months to go!

Ahhh it's so lovely to see so many 2016 ladies on here now!

We're 2015 but started planning with the same time frame as many of you- I think we had over 1000 days when we started planning and are now into the 500's. It has absolutely flown by so far!

Yay, I found the other 2016 brides!

We've not set an official date yet, but we've earmarked 16/4/16 because we wanted a spring wedding (as fits best with hubby-to-be's seasonal work schedule!) and I have a bit of a weird obsession with symmetrical dates ?

How far along has everyone got with the planning? So far I have a rough guestlist, we've chosen our cars and have a longlist of venues, and chosen our church!

YAY, and hello, im one of your, was going to say date twin, but looks like were triplets ?

? confession time...ive got my dress and shoes. got the registrty office (just have to wait unitl July to book, I'll be straight online that morning to make sure we get it), venue and catering sorted (just waiting on contracts) have a rough guest list. We know where the hen and stag parties are going to be also. Yes I know, everyone is telling me we are too organised. lol

We have booked the registrar and have our date reserved with the venue but need to pay the deposit within the next 14 days. Apart from these two things the only thing I have bought is a 'Will you be my bridesmaid?' card for my friend at the price of £2.50- but it has made me start our spreadsheet! (Love spreadsheets...)

Glad I'm not the only one, everyone keeps telling the same. I've got my dress and shoes and the OH is sorted for his suit. Also paying the deposit for the venue this weekend and planned the guest list. Can't help it I'm so excited about it all lol.

Congrats, well done at getting so organised! I know exactly what you mean, it's so hard to resist! I've done more rough seating plans than I care to admit

Hi! I'm new to the forum not even looked around yet! We're planning on getting married early July 2016, nice to see lots of other starting the planning and some even the booking and buying! I'm on maternity leave at the mo so were starting to save when I go back work at the end of may, in just looking around online for venues at the mo. it's all a bit surreal and hard to plan when we don't have any money saved yet! I keep leaving it a bit then coming back to it, it'll be much better when we've booked a venue and have something solid to work towards and money to book things!iykwim! For now it's just looking around, getting ideas and making a list of places to view. :-)

We've got the tog sorted, suits ordered (offer was too goood not to do it now!), dj sorted, Think thats about it at the mo.

Currently narrowing down 2 venues, once thats booked will be a very happy bunny!

Congratulations! I definitely know what you mean about being in a sort of limbo, not knowing what to look at or having any sort of direction. It'll come Let us know once you have a date, and I can pop you on the list!

Hey ladies!! think i belong on this thread now, we were planning for 2015 but due to money issues weve decided 2016 would be the most sensible option. We haven't booked anything yet but basically know where and all the details, its just a case of saving for the deposit It will probably be on 23rd july 2016. It seems like ages away, but then again this past year has whizzed past!

Please dont tell me im the only one addicted to wedding planning ?
