****2016 Brides**** 326 brides (and 3 grooms!) so far!

I've just written a reply but it didn't save for some reason! It went along the lines of a Humanist ceremony will be lovely and not much more planning has happened here.

We have booked our venue we are getting married at a hotel in Manchester but can't book the registrar anymore than exactly two years in advance so will be doing that in August but they reassured us they will save the date!

We have booked our photographer there photos are fantastic they are based in Liverpool found them at the eventcity wedding fayre in February was quite surprised how many bookings some of the photographers there had already got for 2016.

We have been getting quotes for flowers, bands, quartets, favours and centrepieces but haven't booked anyone yet.

Tried on a few wedding dresses have found one I really like so far but not rushing, my daughters tried on a couple of bridesmaid dresses too but not even thinking about them till next year.

30th December for me, booked our venue a couple of months ago. So far got the photographer booked and won a dance floor in a competition.

Trying not to get carried away, already been looking at dresses too excited to wait! x

I've never won anything before was so shocked!

It was through Facebook of all places. Met them at an open day and got a quote for a few things, added them on fb so I could have a look at some of their pictures and ended up with a sparkly dance floor One thing off my nice but can't really afford list!

Hey I'm new ? so were getting married the 1st of June 2016 venue was booked today ! After 6 years together a house and two beautiful baby's I'm sooo soooo excited ! Iv started getting lots if quotes ? and I'm booking the October nec wedding show tomorrow and going to look at our venue again !!! Yay x

I'm also a 2016 bride to be. We are going for April 1st. All my immediate family got married on 1st of the month and I don't want a summer wedding. I really wanted 2015 but I can't do both my final year at uni (I'm a student nurse) and plan a wedding. My sister has already complained that the day I want is a Friday and her husband will have to take a days leave, honestly I've not even been engaged a month and people are already trying to press their opinion on me and are trying to get me to change my plans!! Depending on how the pics come out we will defo use them for something in the wedding. We are going up to our venue to do it. SO it will be nice to have them at the wedding on show and we can try and recreate the same shots on the wedding day

Venue and registrar booked ? that's one thing to tick off the list. Going to see a photographer next week to look at his work, already seen a lot of his on the website so will probably end up booking him and a steal at £350 for full day and all pics edited and on a disc

another 2016 bride, although going by the posts i think im one of the most unorganised brides to be ever!xx

hoping to get married in cyprus..month we are looking at is june..hopefully..but this is all budget depending and my OH is so laid back and relaxed about it all i cant seem to get much planning done! At the moment trying to figure out a budget, guests and compare to packages here just so i know for certain xx any advice along the way would be appreciated as im a tad cluess about it all i think il end up in panic mode!xx

Just thought I'd share my excitement at having made a wee bit of progress with the wedding malark this weekend.

Some of you may know we are having a Japanese theme, which from what I have seen is quite unusual but we're going with it as we have always fantasised about going to Japan together and are going on honeymoon.

A fellow hitcher who got married in March also had a bit of a Japan theme going on so I have bought quite a lot of her decorations- 19 branches of artificial cherry blossom and about 40 paper lanterns in our wedding colours to hang from the ceiling, and all for £90. They arrived today and are beautiful.

My OH of all people also found an Aldi bargain and our centrepieces are also now bought and are in the form of bonsai trees. £7.99 each and we have 13, plus my in laws are looking after them for the next two years in their green house as we don't have the space, I kill even the hardiest of plants :-( I also got a text from my FMIL this weekend to say we don't owe them anything and it is their contribution to the wedding! I can't believe it as I didn't think they were going to give us any money so that's a massive bonus.

Still haven't made a start on any important things like photographer, band (if we can afford) and dress but at least decorations are now largely taken care of. Would anyone else like to share any news?

Because of the month and day we're planning on, I've been getting a bit cheeky - found a photographer whose work is brilliant but who usually charges upwards of £1500. Telling her that we wouldn't want the album (as we can do that ourselves in reality) and the month/day of the wedding she was happy to quote us £1000 for the day.

Start being cheeky and asking for discounts or cheaper alternatives because so far already we've saved £4500 by just asking!

*EDIT*: Oh! And we told the hotel that we were planning on booking a room with them for the night after the wedding (as the venue doesn't have accommodation) and they've offered to give us the Honeymoon Suite for £95 which is their regular price for a double room.

Well Ladies,

I think I have found my venue, need to go and see it, but my folks, who are kindly helping to pay for it, like it too, which is a bonus.

I have my DJ, Band, photographer and videographer sorted - luckily they are friends who have agreed to provide their services.

I also have a wedding singer too - a beautiful welsh soprano for when we are in church - again a friend who owes me a favour!!

just have to deal with my family as some of them don't like the date I have chosen as it is a friday and it means they have to take a days leave, but the date has significance to me and my partner.

Ay one else having these kind of issues?
