I still need to lose some weight so not looking till I have a year to go.

It bugs me too that people don't take advance bookings but we have been really lucky with most things. Hair and make up will be a good while away before I decide as I think there more like finishing touches xx

Shelly - I know who'll be doing my hair because she always does my hair, and I'm doing my makeup myself. If this wasn't the case I'm not sure I'd be thinking about booking them just yet, but probably this year sometime.

Hello 2016 ladies!

I am also a 2016 bride to be! ?

We are getting married 13th August 2016 at Careys Manor in The New Forest! We are confimring and paying the deposit this week after having the date on hold with the planner while we were away on holiday. Seems really real and a bit scary now that this week we will be paying the deposit and stuff!

I have to say today I have been dreaming of the honeymoon more as we wont be having a holiday next year as we need to save every penny! Doesnt hurt to look and dream though does it?! ?

This is my first post. I'm getting married in August 2016, most likely on the 13th.

so excited, but already stressed due to things his parents want us to do.

Feeling so excited that I (and my 4 other fellow 16th July brides) pass the 2 year marker tomorrow. Still a long way to go but I figure that Christmas will soon be here then I can say "our wedding is next year" and I'm hoping the following 18 months will fly by (not that I'm wishing my life away but some days I get so excited I think I may actually burst) lol !

We have decided our venue, caterers and colour scheme so far.

It's been yonks since I've used a forum as well.

I know, had this conversation with the OH this morning. It'll be weird saying it's less than 2 years away. Will be up bright and early booking the registrar tomorrow, Yeah I know we have done it backwards and booked everything else first, but you can only book the regisrty office 2 years in advance so we should be fine if I do it first thing tomorrow. We were going to stay up after midnight and do it, but were both too tired already this week, so that's my first thing job tomorrow. It's amazing how quick its going already, but as you say especially after christmas, it'll fly by...eeepppp... E X C I T E D ?

Another date twin! 2 have come along at once, amazing! Where are you getting married? We are getting married in Newcastle and there is also a bride getting married in New Forest on the 13th Aug. Also what is your colour scheme? Ours is more than likely going to be navy blue, pink and gold.

I was worried people would think 13 is unlucky but its our lucky number and lots of good things have always happened to us on the 13th.....we first started talking 13th Feb, we exchanged on our house 13th Sep and we got eneged in 2013! Our wedding planner is French is she said 13 is a very lucky number so i felt better!

We havent planned much yet, just booking the venue this week and paying the deposit. I wondered when it was you signed contacts and sorted out all the little details to be listed in it?

Colour wise it will be pinks and creams. I really want to wear a blush coloured dress! I am to sacred to start trying anything on yet as I feel its way to early!

We were given a number of Saturdays in August to choose from and went for the 13th just because it suits us as we are totally non-superstitious/non-traditional, plus we got engaged in 2013 and our house number is 13. So I guess it's lucky for us too! (though as I say I'm not superstitious at all so don't believe in luck).

We booked our venue in February this year and we had to sign their contract and pay the room hire in order to book. They had a standard contract that I went through and raised a couple of points about before signing but generally it was fine and all the little details get sorted out nearer the time.

I know how you feel about dress shopping, I have been just once back in March as my MOH was in need of a girlie day and I wanted to get an idea of which styles suited. I would recommend you go as I found, like many others, that what I had in mind just didn't suit and what I didn't want did! Of course you do run the risk of finding one you want to buy now, which IMO is a bit early and I would worry about changing my mind about it before the wedding. Keep us upated!

We have current issues on church ceremony or not. I am not religious and don't think it would be right to get married in a church but his dad is insisting we have a church wedding. Don't know what to do!

My OH and I aren't religious or anything but I couldn't imagine having a registry office or ceremony in our venue. Since I was young I've always said I'd love to get married in a church.

No offense but if it was my dad I'd tell him to stuff it, it's not his wedding! Is he paying? I'm thinking that may be why he is insisting? You don't have to answer, I know this is probably rather a personal conversation.

Errmmm, I dont think a church will marry you if you arent religious anyway. Dont have a church wedding if you dony want to, sod your ffil. How foes h2b feel about the church wedding?

I think that's why we're having to go to church for 6 months.

So good to see some of you have dresses!

I saw Galia Lahva on Facebook last night, and now Im completely obsessed with her dresses, and this collections --> /pages/line/bridal-couture

The Suzanne is gorgeous! But I just don't think I cant stretch the budget to Haute Couture custom made! Weddings are so expensive! haha!

Im already having a small melt down with my mum, she didn't have the big white wedding just the registry and a social room afterwards so she's starting to take over a little bit . Talking to my old hairdresses (its her too) about booking him for the wedding, but I don't want him I want a newer girl that is amazing at hair up and is actually a mobile hairdresser and my old hair dresser has moved into the fire service anyway!

My colour scheme is Emerald green, gold and coral and I want my bridesmaids in emerald green, with gold shoes and white/coral flowers and my mum keeps saying 'Oh thats not a good idea' (Shes making the dresses!) Its what I want, its a good strong colour that will suit all of my bridesmaids. But how do I say Well actually its up to me not you without sounding like a spoilt brat/bridezilla!
