Not quite sure what's next for me. I've done everything I can. So far I've booked ceremony and reception, got my invitations and venue decorations, I have my silk bouquets, wedding dress, jewellery and OH has his suit. We already have our rings so I guess I have to sit back and wait now lol x How's things going for you?

Feb 13th 2016 for me :-) really struggling to find a colour scheme though! :-/

3rd September for me and my bride. Can't wait all booked.

We're sending our save the dates out in December with christmas cards :] I wanted to send them on the exact date for a year to go till the big day but a month earlier won't harm!! :]

ETA: Official invitations will go out in June then it gives my lot PLENTY of time to RSVP before January.

Not really, I've just given up and decided to keep quiet now, going to continue sitting in my own little wedding planning bubble!

I'll just bug my parents when a supplier needs paying! Ha!

We went with these in the end: http://www.weddinginsurance.co.uk/ just seemed a decent price, had seen them mentioned on here a few times, and they covered everything we need. I'm sure I'm being too laid back about it but I'm hoping there will be no need for me to use it, so I didn't worry too much about going with a big name or anything like that.

Finally caught up again

So good to see so many more brides! 2016 is going to be busy...!

We've just starting making enquiries into our band for the evening, we get an evening DJ as part of our reception package but I don't want some old tacky DJ who just plays YMCA! We've paid our deposit to our TOG yesterday to secure her for the day, which I am very pleased with as I absolutely loved her work. Lots of natural shots, vintage looking, very relaxed and nothing too staged which is perfect.

Apart from that, taking a back seat now for a bit until next year xxx

Yeah things are going ok, at a bit of a lull at the minute though.I'm just waiting for a jewellery maker to come back to me with designs for a custom piece that I want making, but I told her no rush as it's still a while off, but I hate waiting for it, lol.

OH will sort the suits out at some point, but think once my dress comes in, (by the end of September) me and my MOH will be going bridesmaid dress shopping. Seen some lovely ones, but will have to wait and see what they are like on. I want her to be happy in it, and luckily se looks good in red.?

@LittleSnowflake, well hope you are feeling a little better about it all now, and you know we are all here if you want to vent/talk x

Thanks, will have a look at that. My only concern is that our venue is a marquee, we are not hiring it separetly so to speak that is an option our venue offer, so im not too sure if I would need the extra marquee cover they offer? I'm thinking I wont as we are not having a room and hiring a separate marquee....hmm what do you guys think?

On a separate note, I think i'm being a little old fashioned here by not sending out save the date cards, when did they become so popular?

STDs are unnecessary in my opinion and we're not doing them. Everyone important knows our date already and if anyone forgets and books a holiday well that's just one less guest to pay for!

In other news...I wasn't going to look at dresses until next year but saw this in the window of a bridal boutique round the corner from where we live and I just had to make an appointment to try it on!

Yesterday me and OH paid the deposit on the venue! We're all booked up for both ceremony and evening, whooop! I'm also loving summer as I get to spend it with MrWendy! We don't live together at the moment due to my job commitments - I still stay at my parents during the week

Who ever said wedding planning is the fun bit obviously lied :/ I'm being moaned at by my OH most of the time for either being on hitched or by mentioning one little wedding related word. I haven't mentioned anything this week or in fact yesterday (all day) as we were busy painting and in the garden, but tonight he picked up the greenwoods hire suite brochure and said

"I like that suit".

And then all I asked was

"when you pick your suit it just needs to go with an aqua coloured or platinum silver cravat.

He blew up at me and got arsey,

"I'll choose my suit, as you got to pick your dress".

How is that telling him what suit to have?!! And then went on to moan he's not getting his suit until about 2 weeks before we get married!

He even told me earlier he'd had a thought about deposits and wondered if we'd get them back if we were to cancel the wedding, I told him straight no we wouldn't! (He doesn't have a clue about anything!!!)

Little snowflake I'm not trying to rain on your parade but I think you have serious issues to address about your wedding and OHs persistence in not wanting to discuss it.

I'm lucky OH is interested to the last detail although he thinks I'm far too organised.

Seriously maybe have a chat about stuff because it'll be worse further down the line. It's maybe just wedding jitters

To be honest, I'm glad someone said this.

Littlesnowflake, we just don't want you having any heartache down the line, and to be honest If my OH said to me "would we get money back on deposits if we cancelled" I would be worried, and make sure I had a proper talk, as much as I wouldn't want to and it may bring up some stuff you don't want to face, it's better to deal with it all now instead of when you are married.

I did challenge him about that afterwards and according to him it was a joke and he was bored and the thought just popped into his head. To me it didn't feel like a joke, I did have to ask him "Are you seriously wanting to cancel?"

It's just a pain when I'm taking this wedding stuff seriously and he's more interested in 'having a joke about it'. Kind of says to me he's not grown up yet, still acts like a teenager!

As lame as it may sound I have a feeling all this from him maybe because he *ahem* doesn't get it enough, he often says I must be dead inside?!

It's like Hes taking his frustration from that out on anything to do with wedding. I'm wondering if he's thinking this will carry on when we're married, which is kind of understandable.

He says he's a very 'needy' kind of guy and he was used to it quite regular, and the last time was over a month ago due to me being in hospital and not feeling up to it.

He knows why I'm not comfortable with it, and at the time is very understanding but soon forgets.

That's a bloody stupid thing to joke about! How the jeff does it just pop into your head?! Men have always been a mystery to me... Hun, have you taken out a good wedding insurance? I don't want to sound sceptical but I am in agreement with the other ladies about heartache further down the line; he really sounds like he is coming up with every trick to back out. I'm sure he loves you and it probably is just jitters but it really shouldn't be like this so early on, surely?

Hi!!! I am 29th January 2016 at Orsett Hall.

So far we have - Chapel (Orsett Hall grounds), reception venue, DJ and sparkly dance floor, bridal suite and extra room night before for OH, florist is picked but need to confirm with them and my dress was found on the 12th of this month.

I am trying to deal with one job at a time so I am looking at Bridesmaids dresses right now. I fell in love with one from Dessy but were £350! I contacted a seamstress this morning with images to see if she can do any better on price.

one bored moment at work maybe? I do have wedding insurance it was the first thing I paid for before putting down a venue deposit :]

Wish we were getting married sooner, sept 2016 is so far away. I feel like have gone as far as we can now with the planning until next sept when we are planning on sending our save the dates out. ?

Friday March 4th 2016 for us!

We only started looking at venues and ideas etc so that we could budget accordingly however within the last week or two we've:

• booked our venue and paid the deposit - we're getting married on a barge - I'm very excited about that!!
• enquired with the Registrar- can't book them yet as 2016 diaries not open until next year
• started getting cupcake quotes - My Mum and Step-Dad are paying so wanted to get some ball-park quotes
• seen a dress I love and decided on a potential colour - plum!
• found some invitations we love and totally reflect the relaxed atmosphere of our day
• spoken with my hairdresser about stealing her from her salon for a while to come and do my hair on the day
• lined my step-dad up to give me away if we decide not to walk in together
• decided on our favours
• managed the expectations of those who assumed they'd be bridesmaids etc (we're not having any as it's only a very small wedding)
• decided on our honeymoon destination!!

I think that's it. YAY bring it on!!

Hi ladies, been away on holiday for a while see there is a lot of progress.

i have the family/friend issues with my wedding too. One of my friends (Moh) tells me up straight she doesn't like stuff I'm having and it really annoys me. But it's my wedding I'm a have what I want lol.

Tried and failed at putting a wedding ticker up. Totally useless lol!!

There were 2 options when you got the ticker, try the other one (not sure if you have seen the ticker test thread somewhere on here) it took me a few goes to get it right though. (Did you just copy and paste the code into the signature part of your profile?)

Jesika - It looks like you pasted the HTML option - I think for this forum you need the BB code instead - the one that will look a bit like this

You can delete the [ url ] bits if you don't want it to be a clickable link back to the site.
