Argh this wedding planning is dragging on.... I just want to book stuff, but it is just not happening! I suppose I need to have a fresh look at the gueatlist and budget again... No fair I wanna get married NOOOWWW! Hehe

I know what you mean HMM, I want to start making cake stands out of plant pots, and buying picture frames to turn into blackboards... But I will just clutter up the house!

What have you booked so far and what could you book realistically at this stage? We have booked the venue, caterer and photographer, and we're having a chat with a celebrant soon. I've also booked my hairdresser, mainly because I wouldn't want anyone else doing my hair so we might as well get it in the diary now!

Hi all - back again! (I've changed my username from louise.coe93 as that seemed a bit long winded, just in case you were wondering who I was!!

Daft pointless post, but was at the beauticians yesterday for my monthly 'defuzz'! and went to book my 5 week follow up appt. Which apparently was Wed 10 September - the 2 year mark of our wedding!) Let out a little squeal and got a weird look from receptionist so thought I'd share with you guys instead.

Think we've chosen our photographer, we just need to get organised and go and meet him...

We have only booked the venue and registrar. I am looking to book the tog and caterer next :-)

I always think it drags but everyone I've spoke to has always said enjoy the planning it's the best part, as soon as the day comes it's gone - just like Christmas Day!

I think my OH and I will be looking at the guest list again soon, we'll be sending our save the dates out in a few months time! Can't wait! All my hard work (OH doesn't mind me taking the credit, he'd happily tell everyone it was me who did them anyway) and then people will finally be able to see them for real!

I know what you mean, I am quite an impatient person and if we could afford it and weren't so busy I'd get married next week if I could!

We still have only booked the venue and celebrant but I have recently fallen in love with a dress and looking to bargain hunt for it as it is over budget. Once I sort that, or move on :-( we said we would start looking for a photographer.

I know what you mean. I feel like I've got all these ideas of how it should be, but the wedding is too far away to go and book everything. I'm trying to set myself tasks to do to spread it all out, but I could quite easily get carried away! x

Hello Ladies!

After months of reading other posts for ideas, I'm finally able to join a wedding forum! Hooray!

We are planning to get married in August but haven't picked an actual date yet. Possibly the 13th. We will have been together for ten years!

I have lots of ideas, but at the moment am just making lists of venues to go and visit. Is anyone else looking in Derbyshire/ Peak District?

Welcome MissRachael! Another 13th August, that would be five of us, date quintuplets! I don't know of any venues in Derbyshire but I am sure someone will have some ideas! You could create a new thread about it in WP so that more people see it too ?

I know how you feel and I'm glad I'm not the only impatient one. Some days it feels like a lifetime away and other times I think it will go really fast. I've really struggled to rein myself in and i've gone ahead and booked everything now. At this rate I will have nothing to do nearer the time lol !

Just confirmed the florist who will also do the centrepieces and chair covers! Oh I love this wedding planning!!!

I've done my first attempt at my invitations, see what you all think. Personally there are a few things I want to change. I hate the wedding invitation stamp on the front, and the initials are wrong because I copied it off a website, just to get an idea of how it would look.

Your invites are really pretty ? did you come up with the design & stuff yourself or did you get ideas from somewhere?

I've been trying to get ideas online but I don't wanna copy anyone elses and I'm not very creative which doesn't help ?

A bit of both, I really wanted pocketfold invites and knew it had to be butterflies, I stalked pinterest for ages for ideas and then little snowflake mentioned cardsandpockets.com which was really helpful and a brill website for the card templates xx

Ah, will have to update once we get a date. H2B is totally dragging his feet, maybe I'll have to show him this thread to show him how much we could have gotten done already! Hoping for a May/June, but not got any special dates in mind... I just don't fancy having a heat wave for my weather...

Got a list of venues and a couple of churches but on in particular that I LOVE the look of and hoping to go look at with H2B to try and get some sort of excitement or reaction from him!

These are lovely, you are very talented! I agree with you about the stamp, I don't really think it's needed, or if you still want to use it could you stamp the envelope it comes in or the back of the invitation? Also I personally don't like stick on diamantes/crystals like the ones next to the butterfly on the inside but that is just personal preference.

Just an update on the dress situation (some of you may have been following on other threads!), the dress I tried on a couple of weeks ago but thought was out of my budget is now in budget as I have found a boutique an hour's drive away who are selling a sample for £600 (full price £****) and it's apparently in great condition and in my size. I'm going to view it and try it on tomorrow, wish me luck!

Igbmn- yes our wedding will have a steampunk theme with a but if whimsical wonderland thrown in. I decided last night that on each table will be a wooden arrow on a stand, each pointing in all different directions, and I will get one of those wood burner pen type things to burn in the table names (which will be this table, that table, how table, why table etc) as a little inspiration from Alice in wonderland. I will probably burn in little swirls and patterns on them, preferably have each arrow shaped differently...

Yeah my mind was on the run last night hehe!!

I agree with IGBMN - you don't need the stamp, I think the centre bit on the front of the invite is just enough and those 3d-ish butterflies are cute. Well done sarah121 :] they're lovely!

Hi Ladies

So after much deliberating I decided to go with artificial flowers (for a number of reasons) and they have arrived. I absolutely love them. The best part is I can store them away and forget about them until the big day and there will be no stressing about whether they will wilt in the summer heat either!

The photo doesn't really do them justice but they are so realistic. Not like they used to be many years ago!

this is the wording i had a play with for my invites but they will be done on karft card and wraped up like the finished one (not mine)

i also had ago at decorating the 100s of jars ive been collecting. think im going to have so much stuff as everything is diy!

any of you ladies not asking for gifts but money? how are you wording it in your invites? im going to say that we have everything we need but would be grateful if we could have money towards our honeymoon fund, but i have no idea how to word this.

These are our gift inserts. It gives people the option of either giving cash towards honeymoon or buying a present.

Jesika - I know its a bit of a difficult point asking for money, but lots of my friends did it so hoping they don't mind me doing it too. Personally I'd rather give someone what they wanted, so I'm hoping everyone we invite feels the same. I googled poems for mine, there's loads of them on the internet.

Loving all of the invite flashes! I found below when searching through for stamp ideas. You pay for the template and they make it in your colours/names so I can print everything at home.
