Two years today I get married I am so excited

We went and picked my wedding ring last week

Need to sort out flowers next going to a florist tonight after work! x

IGBMN you're definitely doing the right thing. My mum is in a wheelchair, she has a neurological condition and her abilities seem to lessen each time I see her. While I'm pretty sure she'll be well enough to come to the wedding (unless she has a poorly spell...), it was a major concern of mine that the venue was totally accessible for her and that everything would be easy, no steps or awkward ramps or having to be carried (ugh). I completely understand bringing your date forward, it's the right decision.

And a wedding is definitely do-able in that timeframe! My old housemate got engaged at New Year and got married in August, so you can totally do it! Pop back and say hello to us from time to time though ?

Well we've booked our photographer! Got a steal on a part time photographer building his portfolio.

£325 for 2 TOGS all day and a photo booth for the evening :-) It's a good friends partner so he gave us a 'mates rate' deal :-)

Oh forgot to say I don't think there is much else I can do for now really!! We've got venue and TOG, nothing else needs booking this early really?

I do however need to write some snooty letters to my ex's solicitor as I need to get this divorce sorted and he's refusing to sign the paperwork at the mo (we'll has been refusing for 2 years now!). Does anyone know if we can book the registrar while I'm still married as I can see this going on for a while longer!

Is anyone else pretty much doing their whole wedding diy? A you scared just as much as me?

I'm so worried my vision I have is not going to translate and is gonna look a hot mess!! Im worries things a gonna clash or be to miss matched. I know my taste is not gonna be everyone's Cup of tea as I'm a bit different but I really don't want it to look awfull.

Like some of my ideas in my head look absolutely beautiful and whimsical but saying it (ie moss table runner) does not sound so great. Doesn't help that MOH she does not like hardly any of my ideas.

I know it's my wedding and I'm gonna have what I want whatever people say about it. Still don't want people to hate it.

Im sure it will be fine! If you ever need inspiration keep flashing and im sure we can help if you get creativity-block!

Im sooo happy, just chatted with OH suggesting he pays for the catering, between him and his mum saving 50 quid a month each, he will be able to afford it and his suit etc. It means he will have complete control over what is served amd which caterer we use. The meal is more important to him than me anyway. This takes a lot of pressure off of me financially, as I was budgeting to pay for the whole shabang (purely because he doesnt earn as much as me), and this means I can afford my dream TOG!

Happy days! He is happy too - Yaaay!!

getting a bit frustrated with my MOH everything I've done so far she doesn't like or there is something she doesn't like I know my taste is not to everyone's but does she have to be so honest that she doesn't like anything. It will stop me from showing her what I have done and ideas I have! Need to vent about it sorry ladies lol. Just feels like she puts a downer on everything. :-( aghhhhhhh

i brought a punch from the range, they also sell them at hobby craft but a little more exspensive.

We want a really alternative wedding, church then a pub for a meal then a rock gig, I'm thinking of getting woven wrist bands for the event and having the invites like gig posters/flyers, has anyone done this before or can any give me some contacts for the wristbands?

Hope you all had good weekends

We went back to view our venue and show it to OH's dad who was ill the first time we went. We planned to put the deposit down but hadn't thought about how to pay so only had my card with me, but they don't have a card machine. So hopefully getting the bank details from them and sending the deposit over in the next few days, eeek!

Any things you guys can think of that I should be checking before paying the deposit? I think I've thought of everything but there's usually something missing

We're meeting potential TOG tonight, he's coming over for a coffee and so we can chat photos... spent all weekend doing housework trying to keep the place presentable but I'll be arriving home from work about similar time as TOG arrives and I just know H2B is going to have made a mess! ? ?

I may need to text him and remind him to be tidy lol!

So last saw our venue last in May. We first had 16th of July as our wedding date and unfortunately she goes on her anual holiday first two weeks so pushed it back to the 23rd of July. ( our venue is at her house she has a chapel on her grounds) she didn't want us booking so early as she only has a handful of weddings a year but if we booked the registra she would happily book us. We booked the registra in May but left the venue a little while but today we phoned to make the booking and now she is saying that it is too close to her holiday. So we are waiting for her call back to see if we need to change the date. I don't want it pushed back any further so if we can we will probably move it to June. I didn't really want to have to move our date again! Spose this is the problem with sometimes doing things early.

No date set yet but another 2016 bride to be.!! ☺️

My date is the 16th July 2016. I was wondering when is appropriate to send out your save the dates? I wanted to do it fairly soon as a few of our friends have sent them out for their wedding and there's quite a few people that can't make theirs as they've already booked holidays. I figured people sometimes book a holiday a year in advance so would sending out my save dates approx. 17/18 months before the wedding be abit excessive?

We are doing ours in January 2015 because of the time of year we are (June 2016) ? just incase anyone books holidays in advance if they see a good deal. Would rather send them too early than too late, but other people may be different ?

It depends if you're intending to tell people the date in person first. For us, we have told most people so will be sending the save the dates out with Christmas cards in 2015, so around 7 months before. If we were keeping the date quiet until sending them out, we would definitely send them earlier, like you say more like a year in advance.

Ok ladies there is a possibility that I may now be getting married June 2015. Going to the church I always dreamed of getting married tomorrow to see if they have any availability. Ahhhhh I'm so scared that if we do I don't have much time to plan lol.

Wow, I bet you are chuffed to bring the big day forward! I wish I could, I am bouncing off of the walls with anticipation!!

In other news... I have gone over my savings/budget for the wedding, and I am happy to say things are looking good Now that OH has taken the catering (an of course the suits) burden off of me, I can afford the range of TOGS we like, AND if we make enough money back from the cottages we HAVE to rent out, then the wedding will be well and truely under budget (hopefully by approx £2000)

I just need to make sure that I don't spend for the sake of it on random wedding bits we don't need... It will be nice to start the marriage with some savings left over Yay - optimism!!

It's official, we are now planning on getting married next year I'm so excited but so scared as I now have to start all over again with what we want and only have 10 months to plan instead of 1 year and ten months.
