I think I booked the photographer after the venue, but it wasn't something I had set out to do, we met him at a wedding fayre and it just was too good to miss. Keep trying to make myself stop wedding planning until after Christmas and my 30th, but I can't help keep looking... xxx

We are getting married at the Marriott at Worsley Park. I used to live in Lancashire but moved up the East Lancs, into Manchester this year.

I'm a Dec bride, can't wait until I can say its less than 2 years xxx

We have only booked the venue and the chapel so far. We have now started emailing people we thought might book out early: ministers, photographers and bands. But we haven't made a final choice on any. I also had a look for cake because I love sweet stuff.

we decided that the net thing we buy is insurance, especially before we pay any more deposits. Did anyone else book insurance? Where did you go with?

also need to start that healthy eating regime as i want to lose a bit of weight till then.

Insurance was the first thing I purchased. How romantic!

We went with debenhams after some research. We went through top cash back and for £21 cash back plus a £10 voucher for debenhams so quite a good deal!

Debenhams also cover deposits made before the policy I believe, but some other insurers don't so check this.

all all we've booked so far is our venue, but we do already have a marquee and furniture as they were lent to us. We have musicians and fire entertainers among our friends so entertainment is sorted too :-) the next thing I'm doing is booking the registry office then a photographer.

Hi I was on here at the beginning of the yr, we've now booked out venue and Registrar our date is 23/9/16 so I can now be added to the list! Look forward to lots if wedding chat and planning! :-)

Brought our wedding rings today! And it's officially 18 months to the day tomorrow. Starting to panic less about doing stuff to early now and just going with it if we fall in love with something

I booked the florist today - so now I have no wedding things to do officially till next year, very sad.

Also concerned that I'm not stressed at all by this! Its all pretty easy...

Ask me this again in 18 months time lol. However sometimes i think about the wedding and get emotional, I think i never really thought i would find someone who would stick with me!

Wow McHelenz, you are super organised! I haven;t even decided on colours yet so can't really book flowers and stuff yet.

We have now made a deposit for a photographer and are waiting for a reply from the band we want. It's still 21 months for us which sounds super long.

I know i need to chill out!! We are having multi colours but maybe with a focus on pink and purple as my dress has a bit of pink on and i need to persuade the other half to go purple for his suit.

No more wedding things till next year now or I'll have nothing to do!!

My partner wants to wear a kilt but not sure which one yet. If it's the one I think it will have lots of blue and green in it. I really wanted pinks and purple shades but to be honest I don't think that would work with the kilt So I am not sure what to do yet with colours till we have seen the kilts. I think maybe dark blue for bridesmaid dresses and pink for flowers after all? not sure whether that would be too many colours though

YAY, one more thing ticked off, hair and makeup provisionally booked, can't pay they won't take the deposit until next year, but so happy to get that done considering I was struggling with it.

@shelly70 I know! I'm even happier as when I was talking to my MOH about how much a make up trial alone was looking to work out (about £120 just for the trial) and I was very reluctant to pay it the to add the hair on top, she suggested a company to me we have both used before and it just didn't enter my head to contact them so now I've managed to get full hair and make up, including travel on the day of the wedding and a trial in their shop for 3 of us and just the hair for a little on for around £250, chuffed does not cover it. I know they do a good job as I've used them before so YAY...now planning what next to do.

Oh phew - there was me thinking I'd be the only one with a December 2016 wedding - but I can see there are four other. *waves*

My fiancé and I have set our date for 24 December 2016, the church is booked, but that's about it so far. We haven't been engaged that long though.

I have dreamt of marrying on Christmas Eve since I was a young girl, it's my favorite time of year, helped by the fact my birthday is on Christmas Day. Thankfully my fiancé was on-board with the idea, so here we are, with a Christmas Eve wedding in the works.

The next thing on my list, is to decide on a colour scheme, as I figured that when we do start reception venue hunting, the colour scheme will be important (i.e. we can picture the scheme in that venue and how it would work).

I am one of the December brides, I love a Christmas wedding I'm praying for a little bit of snow to make it complete

We have planned quite a bit so far, we have booked the venue, tog, hair and make up, table centres, table plan and got my dress. To be honest once I'd got the venue and picked the dress everything else fell into place and it all seemed to come together quite well. Touch wood. We have pretty much decided on some of the other stuff, just busy saving up for deposits at the moment. Trying to have a break over Christmas and my Birthday now and then start again in the new year!

ive got the venue, registrar, TOG,cake, car, sashes and got my dress yesterday. Thought i was doing i all too early

We've booked loads so far. We've got the venue, registrar, photographer, cake, car, candy cart and photo booth booked. H2B has picked out the suits he wants so we're going to sort out getting people measured for them next year. Decided I'm going to do dress shopping next year. Also got my table centre pieces as a bargain off ebay couldn't resist buying them when I saw them!

We've booked quite a bit as well. Paid the deposit for the photographer, have decided on cake and are now just waiting to pay the deposit. We haven't really decided on flavours and final design yet but know we definitely want her.

Also decided on the band and are now waiting for the invoice to finalise it all.

What are you doing for centre pieces Claire? I don't really know what I want. OUr place has candelabras which look lovely. You could add flowers to them but as we are trying to budget a bit we are wondering whether just candles would be enough. Maybe some petals on the table?

My florist just sent my quote, I thought it was a bit much but she's doing all the centrepieces and providing vintage china so i don't need to get anything else so i think for 570 quid i've done ok. I think the run up to the wedding is going to be quite relaxed!

Must stop looking at things!! haha

Our venue had candelabras too but I found someone selling some birdcages on eBay which already came with pale pink flowers wrapped around them and blue fairy lights. Our colour scheme is a pale blue and I think I'm going to have Pink and white flowers so I couldn't resist. We got enough for the amount of tables we'll be having and it also came with a large birdcage for putting a table plan on.

Hello ladies - looking at April 2016 and hoping to book Tudor Barn in Burnham. Have already made a coupe of stunning finds - photographer David Bostock from Oxfordshire, and also the v amazing iolinist and pianist Simon Jordan, who is letting us pick the music he plays. Really happy to book both of them! But still waiting on a date.

Hopefully i will have my shoes by the end of the night and they will be a complete bargin if i get them

ive no idea what center pieces to have yet

We're having single stem flowers in vintage glassware stacked on vintage books . Then for the head table and registrars table we are have vintage china (tea pot and 2 tea cups) filled with flowers. This is just to fit in coz we are having afternoon tea.

I hadn't really thought of centrepieces - because we are having afternoon tea there was talk that we would have to remove them anyway so that the cake tier could go on the table. But by doing this idea I can have small centrepieces and it not be a waste of money!

Also I don't have to make them which is a bonus haha.

Sarah - one venue I really like the look of, is Cooling Castle Barn which is here in Kent.

The other half and I live on the Kent/London border, and our church is in London (it's the church we attend weekly), so the only downside of Cooling Castle Barn is it's 45 minutes from the church.

So we're going to start looking at venues a bit nearer.

It isn't an option of booking a different church, because as I said, it's the church we attend and we wouldn't want to marry anywhere else.

I think I got carried away way too early. We're ahead of the game. We've booked the ceremony and reception and DJ. We have our rings, my dress, shoes, veil and jewellery, OH's suit. I have all our bouquet s and button holes (silk), the invitations are printed, the STD's are on the way and I have all our venue decorations including centre pieces. I have also got personalised dressing gowns for the morning. Think that's all so far ... and breath LOL!

Just got my BM's to sort dress wise and book our transport.

I hope next year flies by as quick as this year has. Sometimes it feels like a lifetime away x

Ladies, I beg you to CHECK YOUR DRESSES!!

I was told my dress would take 6 months to make which would be end of Jan/start of Feb but I got a call this week that it was in so I could come in to try it on and pay the remaining balance. They store it so its no probs that its ready nice and early. Appointment went great, took an all in one/suck it all in underwear to see if it was ok - it wasn't but the dress has a corset so its no bra for DD me! They also let me try on different veils for length.

Was stepping off the stool to go and take the dress off after we (thought) we checked it all and something caught my eye on the top of my leg - A HOLE!! The woman said they can't fix it as its lace and I will have a brand new dress. Plenty of time so not worried but please everyone check every little section of your dress!

I cant believe how long the dresses take, mine wont be ready till about September 2015 but im not getting measured until after Xmas though. want to try and lose weight for it lol
