I've noticed 2016 wedding threads becoming more frequent recently, so I thought I'd get the list started for 2016 brides! The 2015 thread was only a couple of months later in the timeframe than this one is, so hopefully I'm not being too eager!! Let me know if I can add you to the list January...

    Try on as many different styles as you can, even the ones you think you'll hate as you just never know what style/shape will just make you go WOW, trying them on doesn't mean you have to buy ?

    Good choice, 28th May is my birthday lol x

    For my bit of news, we've finally found a place for our engagement party!

    Took us ages to find the 'right' place, but went to lunch there yesterday and it just clicked, lovely staff too. I'm seeing this as a tester run for wedding event planning, let's see how stressed I get!

    Sounds lovely!

    We're having our reception in the same place we had our engagement, and also the place we properly met(at a work christmas party) - it doesn't look like a great deal but it means an awful lot to us Smiley smile

    Got to say I love it when people can get married at a place that has meaning to them.

    It makes me think of a post I saw on one of the facebook pages I follow and their question was. "If you married your partner at the first place you met them where would it be", ha, mine would be in Liverpool Limestreet train station...?

    Mine would technically be in a morrisons, in the staff canteen upstairs.
    We're actually thinking of doing our test/engagement photos in morrisons tbh, trying to do something a little different.

    The place were having the reception isn't really special, like i say - i just want to try and find a way of letting our guests know why its special to us.

    I don't actually know where we met for the first time! He knew my ex so we would say hi sometimes. The first time we had a proper conversation was in a nightclub I hated and never went to. I was only there because it was the birthday of someone I worked with. Luckily it's shut down now so there's no chance of us getting married there!

    @hellandglory - I think it's great your venue is somewhere special to both of you.

    We first met at university in Oxford, and we would actually be able to marry in our college chapel, but it wasn't something we ever considered because of travel reasons.

    A couple of pieces of news from me.

    I have found a dress - THE DRESS - and I couldn't be happier.

    And we've settled on a color scheme; silver, black and white.

    We wanted something quite classic, but that fits in with it being a Christmas Eve wedding, and that's where the silver comes in.

    I've chosen my dress!!! I have had my eye on one for awhile and my friend who works in a bridal shop convinced me to go and try it. I'd been to another shop once before but wasn't sure on any of them. But I totally love this one! So excited but sooo long to wait to wear it!

    We also now have our singer/dj who i LOVE and we're getting a total bargain because my mum is his wifes boss and they're good friends - YAY! Not only that, but he is throwing in a photobooth for 3 hours and 5ft light up letters.

    SO happy!

    Sooooo.... A change of plan here!!!

    Were now thinking of getting married at about 3pm, then having a drinks reception with possibly nibbles and then onto a massive food feast party!! Chilli, BBQ etc etc. All served on a help yourself set up throughout the night :-)

    Weve just booked a much much needed holiday (although Skiing with 2 under 2 isn't exactly relaxing...) and have promised we will properly start planning once were back. Although 2 kids under 2, both working full time (me in evenings as kids only in part time childcare) I'm not sure where we'll find time... Lol.

    On the conversation of where we first met. Technically it was at a local pub a few days before my engagement party to my ex husband. Lol.

    ?? I have stopped planning my sons April 2015 wedding and my daughters September 2016 wedding this side of Christmas, it was getting too much trying to juggle work and planning this close to the holidays?
