When I say next yea, people think it's still 2014 and I mean 2015! I wish there wasn't another year on top of it! Arghhhh, get a calendar! haha!

Happy new year everyone! Yesterday was exciting, not only because we can finally say we're getting married next year but my brother got engaged to his girlfriend, who is one of my bridesmaids. So we're looking forward to being able to do some planning together. Speaking of planning, now Christmas is over I really need to get started! So far we only have the venue and registrar booked, what would everyone suggest looking for next? Photographer?

Hey everyone! I'm new on here! So happy to have stumbled upon such a massive support network for any queries I have! I'm a young bride (19) so I feel like I don't have a clue with planning something this inportant but I'm please so far marrying my best friend 19/03/16 I cannot wait! X

Boro_Bex, I think booking things that have limited availability are the most important, photographer, florist (we have bookings all through 2016 already!) entertainment, maybe cars?

I've seen it at work so many times when brides are disappointed because we can't take on their wedding flowers due to prior bookings so I'm booking these things as soon as possible.

We're getting married on the 29th May 2016 and have the venue and registrar booked, the photographer and florist (me!) looking into entertainment and cakes next! (We don't need cars as staying at the venue)

This sounds like us, we would have been together for just over 10 years when we get married. We have not gone to the day though as that would be February and I am hoping the 14th May 2016 will be warmer than February. I am still finding the whole wedding idea and being married very exciting, hope you are too.

yeah our anniversary is in feb too. it would of been nice to wait for our 10 year but i think it would be oo much in one year as we'd both be 30 that year.

I'm back!!!!! :] We've finally moved into our first house, Christmas is over, it's a new year and wedding planning is finally underway again! We have less than 2 weeks til the 16th and I can say today is the day in a year we get married :] we've just been out and bought a few dressing up items to make up a box for our guests! :]

Awww i know i shouldnt wish a year and a half of my life away but i hope it hurrys up lol

Hi Can I be added? Our wedding is the 10th of December 2016

I got my first fright about how soon it was til the day at the weekend! emailed 2 photographers and both were fully booked, then I realised, oops, I really should be getting my butt in gear and booking things!

We managed to get our third choice of photographer, still really happy with her work and we got a really good package! I said I wasn't doing anything til the end of March and we were back from Australia but I'm starting to think that's a bad idea!

Ive been booking things since last year lol. In august last year one supplier was booked for our date of 2nd july 2016. I forget which supplier though lol

We are booking way in to 2016/2017 now, it has just gone crazy so book your suppliers early if you can?

Well we booked our venue (which includes the catering) in October, our humanist in November, then thought we'd wait til end of March but that's looking like we'll be cutting it fine!

Next up band and cars! All the things like dresses etc can wait til summer I think...

i was so excited when at 1 minute past midnight on NYE I could say 'WE'RE GETTING MARRIED NEXT YEAR!'

I'm glad we have a whole to wait, we can savour the excitement and have something amazing to look forward to!!

I'm officially FED UP with our registry office - i've tried ringing them and leaving messages EIGHT times now, just to try and book a registrar over the phone as that is how they prefer it to be done. Everytime it has gone straight to answer machine and nobdy has returned my messages.

I just ant to get married - its not too much to ask

Got engaged on xmas eve and have booked venue and registrar! My h2b and I have been together 10years so looking forward to our wedding next year! just having a small wedding (40 guests) but struggling with the decision of cakes/photographers.

Do we or do we not ask a friend of the family to take photographs as this is their hobby?

Such a good way to look at things, before we know it, it will be our day and it will all be over!

I get so happy thinking NEXT year will be the wedding, yes it's december so almost 2 whole years away BUT this anniversary is going to be our last as an unmarried couple, this christmas is our last, this new year etc I get so excited when I think like that! Been watching that show four weddings? My god is all i have to say, some of them are so catty ha! They were pointing out things they see as "tacky" and things they don't like ... it got me kind of worried! A lot had said a wedding so close to christmas means no one will come and I hadn't even considered that before because I just see the 10th of December as our anniversary not 2 weeks before Xmas! Makes me think I'll send save the dates a bit early or invitations early so people have time to put money aside

Haha yeah my OH thought i was doing it too early and he thinks it will all come together. if i didnt do it, im pretty sure the wedding wouldn't even be booked lol
