****2016 Brides**** 326 brides (and 3 grooms!) so far!

I think men think the wedding just falls together with no organisation, we viewed venue together and said yes to booking, he was later saying how "the hotel do everything for us" .. yeah its a good packagae but we do need to organise the day, invitations, rings, clothes, photography, honeymoon .. he was like oh....

That is mine and OH's anniversary too (we're not getting married then though) We're sending save the dates out in may i think - if i can wait that long haha

Haha yeah my OH was the same. He has been involved in what he believes are the important things like the food and cake lol.

i like to control things so it suits me him being so laid back lol

So worried about the weather (26th August) that in almost considering changing arghh! We went to a wedding on the bank holiday Monday this year and the weather was awful cold and drizzly like winter!!! But I know if I change it's bound to rain on the new date.

I just so want nice weather to make the most of our venue!!! It's my biggest worry!!!

Aw we share an anniversary It's the day we celebrate all the time and we both agreed we would rather that date I would love a sunny wedding and a honeymoon somewhere hot and cheap but being in Scotland nothing is a guarentee weather wise even in July it could rain, so we decided to just go with December so we are preparing for the worst weather wise And picked a venue where we can get at least 2-4 photos with a nice view (overlooks the sea on a hit so from the entrance you can see it) and if it isn't raining there's load of nice photo opps in the secret garden So we decided Portugal this year as a make up for no sunny honeymoon, our actual honeymoon in a log cabin and the summer after the wedding another holiday somewhere hot

I'm hoping for the first time ever, for a little bit of snow in Dec, then we can get some really pretty pictures. Going to order some wedding brollies just in case though xxx

Don't say that, we're the 27th of August! the last few years this time of year has been nice so I'm keeping everything crossed!

Also, Scottish weather has 4 seasons in one day, so as long as there's a bit of sun for some photos I'll be happy!

We always swap our christmas presents for each other on that date! That way christmas day is all about our little boy haha. Yay for december 10th!

Not been on this one in a while, so "hi" ? to all the newbies.

Not to panic those of you who haven't booked anything yet, I mean things like suppliers with high demand, even popular venues, don't leave it too late, it's never too early to book. Some of us have been booking stuff since 2013 (yes I'm not kidding, I was one of those people ?) but be prepared for the case of you not getting your first choice of supplier. I know one particular TOG in my area has very limited availability for May, June and July 2016 already. There is no harm in asking round now even if you are not 100% ready to book, just so suppliers know you are interested in a certain date and could possibly pencil you in.

Hope everyone's new year is going well and the plans are coming along nicely.

I will be getting married in August 2016 - seems like ages away but I know it'll fly by!

Definitely no harm in booking early, I tried to book a venue and it wasn't available for our date, kinda glad because found a better value one that's just as nice closer by But it did suck when it happened! Some people musn't understand availabiltiy and the cost of a wedding, someone in my colege class asked why I booked so early, and someone from work said I still had ages and could wait a year and get "late offers" ..... I think I'll do it my organised way lol

YES! It's our 5 year anniversary on the day we hit the 18 month point so we're off out for a meal, double celebration ? ?

It was lovely, thank you for thinking of me! We spent a lot of time at my parent's (his were in America) but had quite a bit of time in our house just us, which was nice. Christmas morning before we left we did a present each and it was really lovely

Wedding wise, I'm feeling really stuck now. I feel like there is loads to do but I have no idea where to start. We have the main things - venue(s), dress, food, music, photos. Not sure where to go from here...

I've woke up this morning all wedding excited, I dont know why! Im starting to think about planning crafts and bits and bobs...

So much for not doing any!!!

As of this morning we have changed all our venues for food and reception and i'm SO happy.
Our reception will now take place in a little cafe/bar which is ON the beach - its beautiful..

Its #£25 a head which includes a full hot and cold bufett, a balloons package (filling the ceiling with ballons), dj and disco plus room hire and well as paying for the bar to be manned.

The breakfast will now be in a different local chippy who aren't even charging room hire - just food and drinks costs and are actually acting like they want our service!

I've been a little be less productive. I have a tattoo of some lyrics on my back so considering making it more girly for the wedding. Priorities and all that? Also my mum HATES them. God help me lol.

I've found sometimes the wedding stuff makes me a bit overwhelmed and i get really emotional thinking about it. I never thought i'd get to get married so i think its just shock now and again lol.

My mum wants me to get a dress that covers my tattoos. May as well get married in my onesie then!

We booked our photographer today, eeeeeee!

Dont worry about that. My mum did too. When i went to try on dresses the shop said lets see where it is and just said "there is no dress that will hide that" and my mum just dealt with it xx

You all have been busy bee's - I feel like I have done hardly anything yet! We are getting married in Italy and having a UK party after. The Italy part is taken care of by a planner and I wont need to give any real input until near the end of this year (wedding in May 16).

I have picked my band and they are holding a date for me as I still haven't picked a UK party venue (although we have looked at a few).

Time for me to ramp up the planning I think - I feel a list coming on!

Awch I'm not particularly worried. I just don't want her bringing me down during the dress picking process!

Most of my visible ones are flowers, so if people are offended by them, they must be offended by flowers!

I had some massive car issues before xmas and my florist and photographer were super kind and held me a spot and now i need to pay . So i started hunting other bits. Im gonna flash my dress and what i've just seen as bridesmaids dresses? Do you think they'll go? I can't ask my bridesmaids as I'm keeping my dress secret from them. xx

That dress is beautiful and I think the bridesmaid dresses are really pretty so go well together ?

We are deliberating the date of the wedding at the moment, having to stick to school holidays is causing some issues but we will get there.

Theres no way i could hide my tattoos - my chest and back are covered, as is one arm..my mum is totally fine with them though - MIL on the other hand...
She has said she wants me to find a dress that covers my back because 'she can't stand looking at it'

We're doing exactly the same! Although in July so a couple of months after you! Where in Italy have you chosen? Are you honeymooning there too? We're in the processing of going for viewings for the uk party when we're home, but it doesn't really feel like I have much else to do as we have a planner in Italy too! I've started looking at bridesmaid dresses but that's it really!

When are you sending your invitations for the wedding abroad? I want to give people enough notice but have no idea what the norm is for a foreign wedding!

I went to a wedding in Cyprus and I think we all got told about a year before. Mainly because flights come out 11 months before, to give people plenty of time to plan, book and save. A lot of people might make it their summer holiday like I did in Cyprus!

Maybe even just send out save the date cards now, or just a save the date email? I know if I was going to a wedding abroad I'd want maximum time to save the price of flights/hotels going up etc. Also recommending accommodation/airports nearby so people can look into it!

It's lovely to see the 2016 forum so busy lately. Looks like everyone's busy planning away!

Bit of a pointless post from me but am so excited I just wanted to share with you lovely lot ... I have had a very productive wedding planning day today. Found the perfect bridesmaid dresses in a local store. I also have an appointment tomorrow with our reception venue to discuss arrangements and catering etc so they can get a provisional invoice drawn up and the best bit is we can pay it off in chunks that suit us.

It all seems so real now :-D

Completely accidental but I've bought my bridesmaid dresses, they are in storage at my parents. I've also bought my dress!

the bridesmaid dresses were seen on Facebook, the woman had changed their wedding plans from a uk wedding to one in Mexico and was selling them brand new for a bargain price. 5 x bridesmaid dresses £165! Couldn't turn them away in the style, colour and sizes I wanted. A meant to be moment!

my wedding dress, Another meant to be moment, between me eyeing it up being sold locally 2nd hand and my good friend who works in a bridal shop picking it out for me. The same style, both didn't realise it was the same style until we compared. I bought the brand new version from the bridal shop heavily discounted. Couldn't refuse!

so never too early! Big believer in when things are meant to be.
