****2016 Brides**** 326 brides (and 3 grooms!) so far!

Im going to buy those dresses once my student loan comes in. Im just trying to spread costs so dont think anything is too early. The girls like them so think we should just go for them

I also made sure theres a local seamtress should they not fit next year!

If you are getting adult bridesmaid dresses there is no harm in getting them now.

I am currently in the "it's never too early" phase at the min, well unless is something I feasiblycan't book just yet like hotels the night before and night of the wedding ?

Apart from bridesmaid dresses, what's next on everyones lists to get done, you finding anything particularly tricky? I'm struggling to find a nice car for like a 20 minute 1 way journey, ho hum! ha ?

I'm getting married 4th June 2016 so u can put me on the list.

Looking forward to getting lots of help and advice on here.

Ive just started on my final draft of my invites this week. Going to get all the bits and pieces and put them together a few at a time when the OH is at work at weekends. When they are done going to start frosting my tea light holders I think.

Getting back into planning mode now I get to try my dress on in February and also looking at bridesmaid dresses at the same place. think we might book our decor, dj, magician at the end of February too, they're all from the same supplier so just need to sort the deposit out.

I've got a bit of a list going there actually. xxx

With the dresses I think it depends on the bridesmaids. My friend bought our bridesmaid dresses a year in advance. A month before the wedding her sister's dress didn't fit. Luckily she had a spare in a bigger size as another bridesmaid was between sizes when she bought them, so she was able to get that altered to fit. My weight never seems to change at all though, so if I had bridesmaids like that I'd see no problem in buying them early.

I was lucky where size is concerned as my bridesmaid dresses are lace up. So very flexible! My sister in law is also kindly doing all alterations!

I've been looking on lots of high street websites for a bridesmaid dress - i only ond one in a lemon-y or yellow colour...probably a maxi dress at that as well so lots of places will be getting that kind of thing in atm.

I have my invites ready on vistaprint, ready to just order now as well.

Im going to do my invites on Vistaprint before (i'd snubbed it before but they're nice!) Can you do added text on them? Like on my RSVP I want people to give us a song choice and I also want people to be aware that the premier inn rooms open a year before so they can all get in there. Im also thinking of making a wedding website.

Im gonna order the bridesmaids dresses in a couple of weeks.

I've been looking at crafts on Pinterest - think I'm gonna make a table plan out of hessian and some MDF and try and buy a easel! (i've never been this crafty in my life!!)

You can add whatever you like on vistaprint - i'm in love with my invites.

I've just received business cards with save the date on plus details obviously, they cost me £6 and i've just put magnets on the back which were £3 on ebay, payed £2 for mini envelopes. I already have twine in to tie around...so thats my save the dates done for £11 and i love them! Its a shame i can't send them yet haha.

Our invites, evening invites, rsvp/menu cards plus addressed envelopes in same design, matching envelopes, a lawn sign and order of service cartds are costing £110 in total. I'll be tying them together with twine and thats them done - so £115 all in i reckon.

As for a bridesmade dress i was thinking maybe this:

I'm having a glittery gold best and the gold glitter irregular choice shoes - so i think it will tie in? Only problem - its currently in the sale and i'm skint form paying deposits

Yea I'm the same My other half said we should just do invites and not bother with save the dates so thats what we are doing save moneys

How easy is it to customise?

I looked at vista print and couldn't find how to add bits to it...We need to go a guest list yet haha

Thats the bridesmaid dress i'd quite like, i'm only having on bridesmaid and she would look STUNNING in that dress. Plus it will go next to my outfit as i have gold accessories.

As for vistaprint, i'd say its taken me 2 hours in total to do

- double sided invitation
- double sided save the date cards
- double sided order of service
- lawn sign
- double sided rsvp/menu card
- evening reception invites

All of which i took down to the base design and then put all my own wording on.
Once you click on the design you like it will come up on an editing page and just about the design are all the options 'A' is to add wording.

I say go for the gold dress then!

Hi ladies and gents

So wedding is booked for the 3rd June 2016 (obvs!!), we have booked ceremony venue, registrar, photographer and are in the process of ordering our cake. I have already picked my dress and as a result of that I have unintentionally found a colour scheme which has now lead me to think about invites..... We are having a ceremony only and are only inviting our immediate family to this. Although they are all aware of date etc, I would like to send them an official invite as I think our parents would appreciate it but we only need 5!!!! So every invite that I like the look of needs a ridiculous amount ordered, and bearing in mind that I have zero creative ability, would you consider making them instead?? And does any body know where on earth I would start??!!!!

We are also planning on having an 'evening reception' in that where we would like to take the family to lunch after our ceremony (and photos) we are hoping to privately hire so we can invite remaining family and friends to join us for a drink to celebrate our day (we're hoping to put a buffet on for the evening guests too) So my theory was that I would need a reasonable amount of evening invites and therefore would be more cost effective to order these from somewhere (like Vistaprint or similar)

TL;DR As I only need 5 "all day" invites, but have zero creative ability - would you consider making these yourselves? And where would I start?!! And secondly, can I order evening only invites without having to order the other bits??

Etsy have some lovely ones with a 5 order minimum but they're not from uk so postage might be a bit much.

Oh wow its been busy here the last few days Lovely to see everyone getting so excited.

For the DIY people - I failed! We were going to do our own invites to save money but my non creative side won the battle. I have ordered a sample from a lad I found on here, will put up a pic when I get it but overall, spending about the same as if we were making them ourselves. I wanted the pocket and inserts as we have a lot of overseas guests and the venue is an hour away from our home so I thought best to include more rather than less information.

Dress had a hole in it, but new one came in within a few weeks and is now in storage - shop were so nice and gave us a massive discount on the boys suit hire.

If you only need a handful of invites maybe try paper chase? They do some nice ones in packs of 5

I want nice invites, but i dont wanna spend 100s on something i know will go in the bin x

we're spending £100 but we know most people invited will keep their invitation because its all immediate family and we're all soppy buggers who keep sentimental things haha.

These are our save the dates that went out last month with Xmas cards. Made using word and publisher, then backed onto pearlescent A3 card from the Range, image purchased using credits from a stock photos website.

Annoyingly my invites have to be perfect as designing wedding invites is part of my job!!! Lol. All my friends keep telling me they can't wait to see what I come up with for my own wedding.....

... no pressure at all!!!

Helland glory: Thanks for the link to Etsy - I now have a Etsy ? with all the choice. I suppose now that I need to actually make some decisions over what I would like as browsing through 100s of pages waiting it for it to jump out to me seems bleeding unlikely hahaha

McHelenz: H2B doesn't see the need in sending invites out to only our family either, but I'm a bit of a soppy bugger and think that our parents would like one (and it'll help to remind his brother of the date!!) so I'm caught between wanting something lovely but not necessarily spending alot on them.... I think, like Hellandglory, the evening ones will end up in the bin so am not as fussed, although still struggling to find a style I like ?

LittleSnowFlake: That's lovely - although when I say I'm not creative I mean like really, really, really NOT creative. It seems to start ok in my head but turns to turd by the time it comes out of my fingers (computers included!!) ?

We have no evening guests at our wedding so I guess that makes it easier? x

That's not a bad cost. Funnily enough the evening ones I'm less fussed over - the only reason we're posting the evening invites is because that's the only way we can think of to make sure that everyone will get them (not everyone we want to invite has email or checks it that often!!)

Am absolutely buzzing. Had a fab meeting with our wedding reception venue to discuss arrangements. There is a plus side to booking early as they guarantee to honour their 2015 prices for next year. Whoop whoop ?

I think we were really lucky, we got locked in to 2014 prices for most things

Sounds good ladies! I'm not going to anything typically wedding-y - so they've just made up prices and they're pretty cheap!

I wanted to go to some wedding fayres but I keep getting talked out of it. I'll wait until I'm back from Australia I think, maybe end of the summer then I'll start getting things done! Glad to have the big things booked for now, the rest can be done later I think!

That guest list though... I find myself needing a wine every time I think about it
