So the original bridesmaids dresses i wanted went out of stock However I'm itching to order these coz they're cheap and lovely. Do you think this colour will go? I also thought about the pale ones i pasted early and my bridesmaids are quite pale so i wonder if it makes it all washed out?

im still looking at hair and makeup. im not sure if its expensive or not. its £80 hair and makeup then £50 for the trial

Just noticed there are 3 people in the group who have less than a year to go!

I refuse to spend 80 quid having my hair done. My hairdresser who cant come out said i should only pay 25. Im going to a wedding fair tomorrow see if i have any luck.

I dont pay 80 quid when i have my hair done normally!!

Its costing me £80 for hair and makeup, then £35 for a trial as i currently have ZERO hair - a trial would be nothing more than her stroking my head haha. (when i shaved my hair off our wedding was due to be 2017 - then got moved forwards by a year).

Before the charity shave i would spend about £40 on getting my hair done - so i don't really think £80 for hair and make up is too bad.
Its going to be £200 for me, one BM and MOTB.

ive had to ask my BM and my mum if they could pay for theirs, i feel so bad for asking but my budget has gone out of the window lol

Oh same here! I gave them the option of getting it done - and they have both said the don't mind paying for theirs at all - my BM actually offered to pay for her dress and dye her hair(its bright red) so that she didn't stand out - i of course said no, don't be silly - but she is SUCH A DREAM bridesmaid haha. Although, i may take her up on the dress offer and then buy her shoes and bag.

And i donated my hair to little princess trust(they make wigs for unwell children) and the money went to cancer research/stand up to cancer as its close to the heart. We're actually thinking of giving stand up to cancer pin badges as favours.

Last night whilst browsing i have fallen in love with a dress for her, which makes the other sequin one lame in comparison. Only it is in the sale and i REALLY don't have a spare £60 right now

Arghh!! My choice of bridesmaid dresses in 8 & 10 have sold out! :[ knew I should of bought them.

Nice to see everyones plans are coming along well :-) Going to book our new venue today, and try and get our deposit back on the other one, hopefully! Cant book our ceremony venue until June... Hurry up June! Other than that we only have the TOG booked. Oh yeah, need to cancel the registrar coming out so we can have a celebrant instead, and then book the reg office. Lots of switcheroos going on here haha!!

OMG it feels like we have nothing sorted - dates reserved at church and venue, but NOTHING else sorted. At. All. And OH seems to think it's a fun game that if I ask him a question about the wedding he just wanders off! I feel like I should just get it all done and tell him where and when to turn up - seriously! Just asked him if he thinks I should contact a photographer that we met at our venue's open day and we got along with or just wait until we have deposits down. It took me a good 5 minutes of glaring to get his response (wait until we know the date for certain)

If it was up to him we wouldn't start planning this until this time next year, I think, and it's driving me crazy!

Am I worrying too much? I just don't want us to end up with nothing that we want because we waited too long

@soraneko just bear in mind that you may not get your first choice, a lot of suppliers (especially TOGa) book up way in advance. I know our TOG has no availability left for this . Year already. There's no harm enquiring and speaking to . People, you could leave it until this time next year, weddings can be done on short notice, but it's up to you.

Jen-lou - This is what I'm worried about, but I think because I'm the one doing the research OH doesn't realise and won't accept that that's the reality... I'll push further once we have contracts (for venue and church) in place because until then it feels a little bit like tempting fate... he won't know what's hit him!

Ahhh we booked our cars in April last year but got a phone call yesterday cancelling as they now cannot do any 2016 weddings... So back looking at cars again. At least we have been given plenty of notice!

We are not sending any but I would say a year maybe just over a year in advance would be more than enough time.

SO, i just got back from trying on some dresses and fell in love with one in particular - i just didn't want to take it off. Only thing is, is has silver/clear details on it and would not at all go with the gold shoes and bridesmaid dress i had planned out - do you think silver instead of gold would go with a hessian/lace rustic theme?

So overall it would be hessian and lace with silver glitter details (silver glitter on cake, my hair bow etc)

I'm having a similar problem, can't decide between gold or silver! tempted just to go for a brushed brass, you know the kind that doesn't look quite gold or silver? I think silver would still look lovely

You lot have got me concerned that I was going to leave my MUA and hair til a couple months before, I better get a move on!

Shelly - I think we will start sending ours around the year to go mark. A lot of our guests live in the same town so we can hand deliver them or just give them out as and when we see people. Then anyone we haven't seen, will get theirs in their Christmas card. Most of our guests know our date anyway so it's more of a formality really.

hellandglory - I think silver would look lovely I am someone who thinks silver and gold go together though, so don't necessarily think you have to give up the gold in order to have the silver.

Shelly - im going off what someone else said, which is about a year before. so may send them out end of june but given that im going to try and not post any it may take me a few weeks to make sure they are all sent out.

I'm thinking about doing STDs pretty much asap, but then also going to be doing formal day invites early-ish to have enough time to adjust numbers if lots of family drop out (day numbers are currently all family members and maybe a couple of close close friends so if family drop out would be nice to subtly ask more friends along!)
