That's so exciting, hellandglory - got my first visit to a bridal shop at the end of next month.

That photo does NO justice what so ever, it has lace detail on the front as well as the jeweled detail in the middle(not a belt). Its tea length, (practical as i'm getting married at a lighthouse which requires walking over a causeway) but because i'm teeny it needs taking up as its floor length on me. It doesn't come with the shawl, but i'm thinking about having something.

It was the only dress i tried on - one shop. one dress. just knew.

I LOVE IT.

I have made an accidental purchase today, after hunting lindybop dresses i have just bought these gorgeous dresses for my bridesmaids from monsoon - absolute steal! Should of been 189 down to 56 pounds . Totally not what i was thinking i'd buy!!

I couldn't find a stockist close and deep down i knew i was just getting wrapped up in "OOOO WEDDING THINGS", i know myself, and i know that the disney dress just is not me - this dress is totally me.

Thanks, I can't believe what a bargain they were! Monsoon had lots of gold bits if you're still looking in the sale near me. Debenhams had lots of gold in too, must be in season!

As for me, the only wedding thing we did this weekend was to ask our flower girl. Gave her a personalised card, with a handwritten note on the inside.

She is 5 and starting to read pretty well so it was lovely for her to read it instead of us reading it to her

I have cards like that for our two pageboys and for the 2 remaining bridesmaids so got those to give out over the next few weeks. OH is going to ask one of his best men soon but needs to wait for the other as he wants to do it face to face.

Next big job is asking my aunt if she will do our flowers. I feel really nervous about asking, I don't want her to feel like she can't say no. (She isn't a professional but is retired and does a lot of flower arranging etc and has done at least 1 wedding before).

I was wondering if there would be another Sparty! It's going to come round so quick!

All those dresses are lovely, I am gong to start looking in the next month or so. Very exciting! Need to ask bridesmaids first though.

Went to a wedding fayre yesterday. Tasted some cakes, found our florist and discovered that some suppliers are just downright unpleasant!

Been in contact with a videographer but I just don't think we can afford it

Just got home from paying the deposit for our evening reception, obviously had to have some tea and cake in their cafe.
So thats another job crossed off - and a new found love for toffee apple muffin cakes!

At 4 we're going to the restaurant to talk about our meal and whether or not we can do bits and bobs.

Yeah you will find that, but I think if you get all snooty with me when you find out when my wedding date is you don't deserve our money, and my OH agrees with me on that. I went to look at bridesmaid dresses the other week and the woman said to me I was too early to order anything, and didn't bother to talk to me after that, and I left the shop shortly after, where another shop I spoke to is more than happy to help.

Sounds like everyone has been busy working away at little jobs, when do you think the mad panic stage will set in then? lol

We found our florist and she was an absolute star. She's keen to arrange a consultation, and work closely with us to find what we want. Our venue says we can come back as many times as we want to look around and discuss things.

Both my mum and myself have been made to feel horrible in boutiques when looking at outfits. I got told not to even bother looking for a dress, and not offered an appointment. The MOTB shop said that they only had a size 12 and that wouldn't fit my mum because it would be too small and it was too expensive. (my mum is a self conscious size 10 who wears baggy clothes to compensate and if she likes something, she buys it!)

Some florists, cake companies, venue decorators etc were just mean. They scoffed when we said our wedding was next August. They don't deserve our business if they treat us like that!

My date has changes from 13 August to the 30 July!!! Less time to wait :-)

Hey ladies!

I really need to rant. I am getting really fed up of this wedding already. My dad told me yesterday he's probably gonna travel to the wedding on the day (2 hours 30 mins away from home). I am not sure if I am being a bridezilla but I expected him to stay the night before so he's in the right place at the right time and just I enjoy the weekend. Am I being unreasonable?
