Yeh, Local East Midlands supplier for that deal. We were very lucky to get it, they only run so many limited offers a year and we bagged it last year

I just wondered if anyone had any advice or tips on venue stylists? Do they help? are they worth their money? how much do they charge? Are they helpful on the Wedding day, save me doing it?

I have had a quote for a person to come in & do the venue styling, they would liaise with all the suppliers & create the theme, style it on the wedding morning. I just wondered if other people are doing this? and whether it is worth the money or if I would be better doing it myself?

Just putting the deposit down for our venue this weekend... and now I have no money. Needed somewhere to just put that because I don't want to be whining at friends and family already!

I only got paid at the end of last month and now I seem to have spent it all (granted around half goes into my savings and has meant I've been able to pay the deposit, but still!). Should have a few pennies to run together once I've returned a few bits but feeling a bit rubbish at the moment! Is this just me?

I've had an email off the MUA i have booked, 'wedding hair and makeup north east' saying someone on this site has messaged her about comments i've made.
So, i'd like to put the record straight i guess - i'm totally happy with my booking with her - there was a thread a wee while back where a bride was concerned about the foundation that was used, and that is all.
Since them she has actually messaged me constantly making sure everything is fine and i have no concerns and if there is any questions i need answered.

This is a completely pointless post, but I have to tell..

We ordered our rings last night!!!

We had no intention what so ever of buying them this early, but we were just having a wander around Meadowhall and there they were in the jewelers window shouting 'BUY US!'

I just need to get my ass in gear now and start looking for a MUA before all the good ones are booked up.

Eee got our contract through from the reception venue and it is only ONE PAGE long! And we dont have to pay the final balance until after the wedding :-)

Just awaiting on our celebrant contract to come through now :-)

So happy thay it is all coming together and is nearly set in stone. My savings account is going to take a hit next week - Oop!

Well it's nice to back in the world of hitched, after a period of losing all enthusiasm for our wedding. Having some major family issues at the mo that unfortunately will impact on the wedding in a big way kind of ruined the whole thing for me. However with just over 14 months to go I thought I better crack on. So the bridesmaid dresses have arrived and we have a meeting with the priest coming up to confirm details of the ceremony. Finally starting to muster up some excitement again. Hope everyone else's planning is going well?

Hi, I have been lurking the forum for months and have decided to join up today. I'm joining this thread as our wedding is booked for May 21st 2016, I can't wait!

Urgh I'm getting stressed and fed up!

I'm panicking about paying for everything we've booked so far, since we've purchased our own house we've not been putting a single penny away in our wedding pig, it was completely different when we lived with my parents. I always get a 'what if' feeling! It's not helped by the fact my OH seems to love shopping more than me! He's just come back from his mum and dads with a car full of stuff right down to dog treats - which were NOT needed as she has a stock that could rival pets at home from christmas. We've got invoices that are due to be paid december like the cake for example which is £500, and the venue which is £4300. Everything's going to be split 3 ways between us, my parents and OH's parents which makes less to pay but it's still a considerable amount that we haven't got anymore :[

He also has an extremely horizontal (laid back) attitude towards anything important, his current reply to me worrying is "Don't worry, what have I told you, I'll look after you, it'll be okay." Setting up online banking for him was a mistake, he transfers money from his ISA to current like it's going out of fashion!

I'm also stressed about bridesmaids, and I really feel like dropping 2. These 2 are beginning to be diva-ish in regards to me buying the dresses, they put in a request for straps which I kind of went for in the end - one shoulder strap as I wanted strapless so I've gone down the middle, now they're moaning about the sizes I've picked, I flippin asked them their sizes which they told me so I've ordered them in the said sizes.

My MIL went off her head because I'd ordered the dresses "They haven't seen them yet" "Are they the right sizes" "How does she know they'll like them" she expressd all this over FaceTime talking to her son, and I happened to be sat there in the same room, listening.

I honestly want to start finishing our day invites and start on the evening and some of my other diy projects but I cannot bring myself to do it, I just can't get in the right frame of mind, and it's probably because of the mother in law and bloody bridesmaid dresses!!

Can you ask him to set up a standing order to you, so after payday every month some money goes straight from his account to yours, and you keep it safe for the wedding? Then he can spend whatever is left in his on all the crap he wants lol!! Then he is happy as his end is sorted and will put your mind at ease as you have the wedding money in your clutches!!

LS - I know you have less time than me, but I totally get the frustration at OH just not feeling any urgency! I get a lot of "we have LOADS of time". His mum even said it last night and I told her not to encourage him - so not funny! (ok, maybe a little bit...)

Really hoping to make a decision on photographer in the not too distant future and maybe entertainment... these will be the biggest expenses out of the way and then we can probably work our way around everything else!

Almost 8yrs and 6yrs ago I lost both my only sister and mom. I have 2 amazing friends who are helping me plan. Its been a very emotional time as all i want to do is speak to my sister about everything.

The 17th sept is a very special date, firstly i thought the sat date next yr was the 18th (but me being a twat only read it wrong.....lol). I then realised that I would be getting married on what would been my mom & dads golden wedding anniversary......must have been fate.

All family are very supportive with me & OH having this date.
