Just booked my wedding for the 8th of July very excited not really sure when I should start booking everything else though!

Things that can only do one on your day i.e. photographers i'd get hunting now.

That being said, a lot of us on here are pretty much booked!

Ive been booking things since last year.

you'll be able to get your choice of supplier booking early. id probably start looking now.

i know my venue were getting enquires about weddings in 2019.

So although our venue is only provisionally booked for 17th of sept 2016, i am super excited because on thursday we are booking it all officially :-) it will make it all that much more real. I get to see my venue again and this time its going to be set out for a wedding so i can really get an idea :-)

We're getting married on 7th May next year. Went to a friends wedding last weekend (Valentines day - bless) and when her father said they'd been planning it for the last 2 years, my fiancee & looked at each other and said "we'd better get organised".

We've booked the church and the reception venue, but that's it. So I'm now sitting down making lists of things to think about / book when I get the time - we had a little boy last year, so we've got his christening this May to do first - which will be good practice for my organisational / planning skills on a smaller scale.

We've decided to do a mini-moon minus junior to Rome for a few days post wedding then either far east or california later in year with son in tow. Also thinking a grey and lemon theme as they are colours we both like, but other than that we don't have any further though / ideas. Hoping to get some tips from here.

Hello lazybride76, We're date twins!! We got engaged on Christmas day and have Church and Venue pencilled in at the moment but nothing else and nothing set in stone. The reception hotel is lovely but is planning on having a whole new building built (where we would have our reception), it's not going to be agreed until the end of May this year so it's a bit nerve-wracking! Worse case scenario, we'll be in their marquee, which is also nice! They've given us such a good deal though so I can't really say no, anywhere else in the area is just too expensive! I really want to start dress shopping too, it's all far too exciting! :-) xx

So we have venue booked and registrar booked, we have a meeting with new wedding co-ordination at our venue on Saturday, little bit nervous as it is a different lady to who we booked with. today has been a day for designing my invites through 123print. quite early i know but i like to be organised.

Hello Happy Blue date twin. We also got engaged on Christmas day (though in 2014, not last christmas).

Sounds like it's worth taking a gamble if the fall back is their marquee and that's nice too, esp if you've got a deal.

We've just read small print of venue contract & we have to have minimum 75 in day & 125 at night. We're planning a smaller day do (around 60) and then have loads more at night, as we just want close family & friends in day. We have to pay room hire if we go under their numbers - hoping it isn't loads, otherwise we might as well just go for one of their packages, even though we won't use all the places!

Booked my Mum & Sis to go dress shopping mid-sept when we've got back from holiday - least that way I'll have a tan so will look better in things I try on - though I need to lose about 2 stone of baby weight between now & wedding day, so will still think I look hideous no doubt!!

Three of us for the 7th May yeah! I've paid deposits for our venue, photographer, Mua, singer, and also found a lady to do my invites and cake. Went dress shopping last week and ended up finding the one! One minute I think I'm super organised and then I look at what's left and panic.

Getting married at Rufford Old Hall

I have a question for those of you who have already booked hair and make up. Has anyone had a trial before booking or is it normal to pay a deposit to secure the date then have a trial closer to the wedding?

I think it's crazy to have the deposit down before the trial, but it does seem to be normal - AND it costs extra! Madness. To those who have booked, do you see pics of previous work? Is it kind of like photographers where you kind of have to base it on other people's weddings? I'm lucky as one of my best friends (would have had her as MOH but decided to only have sisters in bridal party) has done a beauty course so will be working with her on hair and make up, but I'm intrigued.

Also while I'm here - just had a weekend with mother and sisters. Looked at dresses to get an idea of shapes (mermaid is OUT) and went to venue and church so that they've all seen it before the big day. I am so excited about finally picking the dress but know that choosing it now feels too early and I think it'll drive me mad not telling H2B about it for 15+ months! I keep looking at the pics my sister managed to sneak of me and deciding is so diffcult... looking forward to the summer when we'll probably visit a few more bridal shops

Mine is 10th August at Upwaltham Barns, Chichester.

i have booked venue, caterers (tied in with venue), registrar, photographer, florist, photo cab and a surprise ice cream van for the drinks reception. I have also got the adult bridesmaid dresses and shoes and accessories for the flower girls. Got enquiries in about videographer, transport off the guests and a harpist for the ceremony so I think I'm quite organised ( at the mo anyway lol) xx

On Sat 28 feb went to the Birmingham national wedding fayre at the NEC with my Auntie Janet.

Had such a great and productive day. My aunt treated me to some make up which came with lots of freebies

Saw the most beautiful hair grips for my BM's hair, so my aunt brought them for me as well will take a pic it a bit for you to see them, of course this made me well up with tears ( as I have lost both my sis and mom).

Have sorted out my venue dresser at the fayre secured the date & price package with a £20 deposit

I've just cancelled the hair and make up i had planned as i'd lost faith after taking 3 weeks to reply to messages. I've got another trial booked in with somebody else anyway, but if i don't like it i think i'll just do my own hair and make up

Need to send an email with a load of questions off to our food venue - they've never had a wedding there before so its new to us all haha.

My goodness you're all so organised and scaring me with how much you've all booked already.

Last night in bed I managed to go through a wedding magazine and tear out dresses etc I liked the look of. Will wander to shops later and look for a scrapbook or something to start putting it all in.

I really ought to make the most of being on maternity leave to get things done, maybe i'll feel more inspired when the weather gets better.

I am getting married May 1st 2016 but when should I send out save the dates.

Ive already booked venue, photographer, vdeographer, pianist/dj, makeup, hair, photo booth, registrar and am going to see some florists at the end of the month. How many florists should I see? and does anyone have a rough budget. We are getting married in Essex as well as I know costs can massively vary depending on the area of your wedding?

Normally Save the dates are sent around 1 year before.

ive been looking at flowist and they seem to be around the £200 to £250 mark, for me any way.

im looking at flowers for me, 3x bridesmaids, 5 button holes, top table. im sure there is more i need in the way of flowers but cant think what at the moment

We got our save the dates! Love them and a very good price. We were going to make them ourselves but glad we did it this way now.

Went to look at wedding dresses today. First time trying on so allowed me to see different styles and what suited me. Thought I was set on a fit and flare until my consultant pulled a strapless A line gown. I was a bit unsure at first but once Id got it on I absolutely loved. I think this is the dress for me im having it altered to have straps though to ensure I feel most secure. Exciting times!!

Im currently on my nursing placement so not doing a great deal! Not that anything needs doing. We are going cake tasting in the easter holidays, very much looking forward to that!!

Eeeekk!!! 500 days for me today (and my fellow 16th July lads and lasses) ?

In the last week I've sorted DJ, cake, lanterns, shoes & our save the dates came. They are perfect, I cannot wait to send them out!! We're 1 year tomorrow (well, 1 year and 1 day cause 2016s a leap year!) and I'm soooo excited to finally get proper planning. Going bridesmaid dress shopping after work tomorrow & my dress is due in the shop at some point in March too !

I've also been planning for my best friends hen do's in April/May, so I very much have a wedding buzz going on lol!

Edit - I almost forgot the most exciting thing!! I'm also currently engagement ring-less as its at the jewellers getting my wedding ring made to fit. I am so excited about this, we got a quote from big jewellers in the city and I couldn't justify paying so much, so thought I'd need to settle for something cheaper but not quite as perfect. My friend suggested I take it to a local jewellers, owned by a family we know, and they're making it for half the price I was quoted!! I can't wait to see it, should be ready in a few weeks.
