What are you lovely lot doing about a veil (having one or not)?

I couldn't decide if I wanted a veil so ages ago I ordered a cheap one thinking I would decide on the day whether to wear it or not. Have now decided I definitely do want to wear one (not wearing it over my face) so I've now ordered a much better one. Can't wait for it to arrive. The cheap one won't go to waste as I will use it for my hair trial.

I definitely want one!! Always imagined wearing one, and would like it to be initially over my face walking down the aisle.

Where did you buy the cheap veil if you don't mind me asking? That's a good idea that I might use, using one for a hair trial!

OMG jen-lou just noticed there are 8 of us now on the 16th July ... such a popular date!

We've got an appointment booked for 7th August to give notice. I must say I am a bit nervous about it (not sure why though he he)

I got a cheap one from Amazon. Have a look. You can spend as little or as much as you want if you only want to use it for your hair trial x

I was initially on the list as PrettyFlower, but I've been using this amount, PrettyFlower90 and never realised I had two! But no worries it's fine!! =). I think I must have made when I got engaged, forgot the password and then rejoined with a similar name! Sorry! Lol

Shelly, where did you order your veil from? I'm thinking I will end up getting mine online as the price difference is so huge, but I want to make sure I order from somewhere that's recommended.

I'm not going for a veil, but every now and again I think I might, lol. There's a lot of lace on the train of my dress, well the full train is lace so think it'll look OTT. May try one one with my dress when it comes in, just out of curiosity.

I got my veil from BHS online. Tried it on with my tiara yesterday and I love it. Just what I wanted and at a fraction of the cost of the ones in the wedding shops.

I'm sure there are better quality ones if you don't mind the price tag but mine is exactly what I want so am really pleased with it.

I'm one bridesmaid less now, and unfortunately 3 dresses Just emailed to see if I can return one, but its gone past the eBay money back guarantee time frame.
I'm not feeling confident. The dress is far too big for me, and cant see it looking right if I got it taken in, and theres also the fact that I don't have anywhere to wear that kind of dress.

Have you guys tried your veil on with your dress.

i had my first wedding dress experience on Saturday!! (Eeek!)

So the first place, was gorgeous! Lovely two storey boutique place, lots of light and the assistant was fabulous. I took my mum, my sister (MOH) and my oldest and best friend (bridesmaid). As it was my first appointment she suggested just looking at the dressss, and picking out lots of different types and trying them all on to get an idea, and that's exactly what I did. I pulled some, my sister and my mum did as well as my friend. I think I tried on about 10 overall from vintage lace fitted mermaid, to slinky smooth, A line etc!

I found two there that I loved, both ball gown that I wore a hoop skirt with both. One was by Enzonai (I might have spelt that wrong) and was lace with some white beading so not huge bling, with a straight high neck. The other was a Satin Suzanne Neville dress. I absolutely loved the Suzanne Neville dress, but it's £2850 plus the veil makes it £3035! (Eeek) it's a £1000 over budget the other lace one is £1330 but everyone agreed the Suzanne Neville one was 'the one' and it's all I think about now.

So we decided to think about it, and go to the next place. It's fairely new but as soon as I walked in I was instantly underwhelmed, there was only about 25-30 dresses in the showroom as opposed to the 2-300 in the other shop. It was dark, no one greeted us for about 10 minutes, the shop owner made me try on lots of dresses, there was no mirror in the changing room so I had no idea what I was walking out looking like. There was 1 out of all the dresses that I liked but it didn't have the wow factor like the other one, but it was similar and priced a bit better at £1350 with a £269 embellished belt.

So I feel lots better as I know really what I'm looking for, and what suits me and I know I'm not comfortable in skinny slinky dresses, I need to make sure my food baby doesn't start poking out

hopefully on Wednesday im going to have a little nosey around some local places to me (we went round my old hometown on sat) to see if I can see anything of similar style etc! Then on the 18th April my mama and I are off to Harrogate Wedding Lounge where I've only heard good things of too!

What I also know is that I want a veil! I really didn't think I did but as soon as she put one on me with the cinderella dress I just knew I had to have one, and not even a subtle one, I only liked the full on dramatic Catherdral length veil! Haha!

Hows everyone else's dress hunt going?! I'm hoping I've left enough time to decide, and but given one of the designers needs 8 months to make their dresses and then 6 weeks for alterations! So even though I've been told it's really early, I'm glad I've started now! I really didn't realise how hard deciding on one it would be!!

I'm trying the dress I think I'll be buying again tomorrow. It's been nearly 3 months since I first tried it, I can't wait!

Oh, Good luck! Have you tried on other dresses since? I'm really worried I'm going spend a lot of time looking for other dresses but deep down all I want is the cinderella princess dress!

Yeah about 50 of them! This was one of the first ones I tried on and although I really liked it, it's different to what I thought I'd have so I wasn't sure. Since then I've tried on the exact dress I thought I wanted and didn't love it so now I think this has to be the one.

I tried my dress on again on saturday, makes me realise how much i love it

25/06/16 for me!! Its coming round so quick.

I've got 3 dress appointments booked between now and the end of May. Planning to take my time. Also met a lovely lady at a wedding fayre that makes beautiful veils and isn't too far from me, so I reckon I'll give her a call when the time comes. They're really reasonably priced too! Floor length for less than £100!

I bought my veil seperately haven't yet tried it on with the dress. I did have a go with with my tiara though and it looked great. Maybe I should try it on with my dress ... any excuse to put my dress on again lol! x

Going for afternoon tea with my mum and grandma beforehand (maybe a glass of fizz to ease the nerves!)

I've heard a lot of people saying to do your hair and makeup before you go so you get more of an idea. Any suggestions for how I could do my hair? I'm not too bad at styling it so I'll give anything a shot!

I've not been on here much as I haven't really done anything yet, apart from set a date and book our reception venue.

I'm going to try on dresses on Saturday too and feeling very excited! I've booked two appointments and managed to get four bridesmaids together for the afternoon. We'll hopefully go for some afternoon tea afterwards.

I'm going to put my hair half-up as this is how I think I will probably wear it, but I'm not sure yet. I'm not getting much done this week, just pinning lots of dresses on pinterest. I think I know the style I will go for but want to try on as many different shapes/styles as I can. I need to go through my drawers and find some suitable underwear to wear.

I have booked the registrar. They have sent us forms to fill asking about music and to choose vows etc. I hadn't even thought about that bit!

Things are getting super exciting - we have our church, venue, photographer all booked and deposit down. Entertainment have confirmed they're available and going to get paperwork and money sorted tonight/tomorrow. That's the main big things for now as we're still not at the 12 month mark.

Oh and we're most of the way to having our STDs done. I'm designing them with a lot of help from my very creative sister and getting them printed by my dad. I couldn't be more excited to get them sent out!
