****2016 Brides**** 326 brides (and 3 grooms!) so far!

We started our dj playlist last weekend, and I've been working on the invites and that's pretty much it. I've got 9 months to go, think I best pull my finger out!!

Wahoo ... so excited! After a lot of stressing (which I won't bore you all with) I've finally got the hair and makeup sorted so its all booked and 50% deposit paid.

So, now I have hair and makeup artist arriving at 8am on my wedding day to sort me, mum and my 4 bridesmaids out with all the papmering and bubbly we could wish for all in one package and they won't leave until we leave for the ceremony.

How do you go choose which hair and make-up person is good? How do you add a hair and make-up person to your shortlist? I'm mean most charge for trials, and if you pay for one trial with someone and they didn't do a good job/you weren't impressed then you'd have to go for another trial with someone else. It then turns out to be an expensive search.

Yeah I found that really difficult. In the end I got a few quotes and one was quite a bit cheaper than the others. I'd read good things about her on Hitched and liked the look of her work on her Facebook page and website so I booked without a trial but I'm still a bit concerned!

I actually had a trial already as i was having a rare night out so teamed the two together and the make up lasted an hour and a half tops, and i had to top it up before i'd even left the house. I actually ended up taking it off before going out and doing my own.
I'm so glad i have the early trial otherwise i'd have looked awful on the day.

I'm going to go to a couple wedding fayres and hopefully meet a MUA there. As for hair, i have non so thats taken care of itself!

I booked my hair and makeup with my regular hair salon. They came highly recommended by several people and I read the reviews and saw lots of their work via photos etc before booking

It is an expensive package at £650 but my trial for hair and makeup is included and they have promised to make sure I am completely happy before my trial is over.

Ive found my hair and MUA through recommendations and the wedding award website. she is really friendly and she put her prices up the week i contacted her but luckily she was letting me have her old prices.

i still need a trial but hoping they go ok. ive only put a deposit down if not.

Im the same Bubblerawk - found her through recommendations and put a deposit down after meeting her and clicking, it was only 20 so not a big loss.

I've just been wedding cake tasting, it was amazing. After saying i'd just have 1 tier and buy some shop cakes i think I'm going for the full 3 tier, it was AMAZING. We are having white chocolate and raspberry, lemon and pina colada flavour cannot wait!

I think I'm going to send our invitations as soon as Christmas is over for our wedding at the end of May. I want to send them early as we have people we could bump up from the evening depending on the number of declines.

I'm a new member and am getting married on 4th September 2016. Venue is booked and save the dates have gone out (I know, it's early to do that!)

I'm sending out STDs asap and then sending invitations around Christmas (possibly with cards then we have two excuses to hunt around for addresses!). Same thing with numbers, our package has the minimum 60 people already paid for so if people from the original list drop out we can bump people up to include those who can come and fill the room

We have already sent save the dates out for our wedding on the 24th March next year as it's a midweek wedding and just before Easter. We are sending the official invitations to our guests who live abroad in September so about 6 months before, and then depending on the RSVPs from those we will adjust our British guest list and send those invitations out with Christmas cards which will be approx 4 months before.

I booked the same MUA and hairstylist as my bridesmaid used for her wedding as she highly recommended them to me and I thought it's better to go with a recommendation than risk the unknown.

Our wedding is in July and we are planning to send save the dates from July - December. We will give them out as and when we see people and then send the rest to people we haven't seen with Christmas cards. Invitations will go out in April.

I think for your Feb wedding there is no reason not to send save the dates, but invitations I would probably wait a few more months.

We're marrying in July and are sending invites out in March, probably in the first week.

Well we're starting to get somewhere now!!

Starting to confirm a few things with the venue and are in the process of chosing caterers! (best bit is we get to eat lots of food to pick them, yay!)

I really want to sort STD's asap and then look at invitations for Christmas (3rd June wedding). I have the amazing task of getting people to RSVP to evening invitations as we're doing the main meal then. That's going to be GREAT fun.......

Trying to work out what to do about drinks at the moment, may start a post on that actually....

I went dress shopping for the first time on Saturday, it was really surreal! Not used to seeing myself look so.... elegant! I didn't find the one I don't think, but maybe I did, I have no idea. I'm a bit confused at the moment about how it is I'm supposed to feel when I put on "the dress".

Trying to reevaluate our evening entertainment. I don't think we can justify the price of a band, when we could have a DJ for a fraction of the price. Our dancefloor area has limited space so a DJ may be the best cost and space efficient option!

No idea what to do about wedding cars, that's another headache!

Next up is our stationary. We'd like to start giving out our save the dates between August and December, with invites officially going out in March/April for August.

Regarding your evening entertainment, when we went to the fayre at Gean House there was a band set out I think in the main space where you have the dancefloor etc, and I think with the right sized band it can still be an option! I've seen some pictures where people have had a band there and I don't think it looked squashed or anything.. In saying that we went for a DJ due to our budget, just couldn't spend double+ on a band!

I know what you mean about finding a dress, I've tried one on and loved it, but what if you decide and then something else catches your eye! I'm gonna be too scared to make a decision! Lol

Well my mum found a 2 piece band that are supposed to be fantastic but I've never heard them and can't find them online, so I'm worrying. It's costing more than the DJ, and I think I'd rather we allocated money elsewhere. Costs are starting to spiral a bit, and OH has said he'd rather we just had a DJ. I get the feeling it'll be easier too.

Our first dance song is a bit obscure and can only really be done by the original artist so we'd use the recording for that anyway.

I keep looking at the pictures and thinking "oh my goodness I love them both" and I love them for totally different reasons. I've got more appointments over the next few weeks so I'm hoping to find something. The first shop I was in was fantastic. The staff were so helpful and I felt great. Definitely put my mind at ease!

Although i'm marrying next year, i'm picking my dress up in about a month and i cannot wait!

At the moment, there are 8 weddings on July 16th (good choice ?) and June 18th.

Before that there are 6 weddings on: May 28th, May 29th, June 4th and September 10th

And there are 5 weddings on: May 14th, May 21st, June 3rd, July 2nd, and July 9th

Aw thank you! I liked the first one but I've gained a stone since my holiday so I think I'll feel better once I'm back to normal! Going to try on a few variations of a similar style I think. It made me laugh because the 2 dresses I loved, the descriptions were "Moscato" and "Champagne" 2 of my faves! Next I'll end up with Prosecco haha!

That must be exciting going to pick up your dress! I can't even imagine how I'll feel when I get mine. It all feels pretty daunting right now!

Resisting the urge to flash it on every thread that is remotely related is hard, ha! I'm having to give it to my mum to keep otherwise i would be wearing it around the house all the time!

I've got my next appointment on the 25th at a shop stocking Enzoani. After that there's a shop that stocks Maggie Sottero so I'm looking forward to that!

13 months and 12 days to go. Feel at a bit of a lost end at the minute don't know what I should be organising next. Xx

Just a little update- I already had venue, caterers, registrar, tog, ice cream van, adult bridesmaids dresses and photo cab booked when I last posted but now I have vog and dj as well as my DRESS lol. I on,y went to try on but ended up putting a deposit down. It comes with an illusion jacket (bonus and not what I was looking for at all) and I shall wear that in the day and take it off for the evening.

I also have shoes and veil on their way- can't wait x
