could I be added to the list, we are getting married, 25th June 2016

can I ask how much planning you have done? We have booked the venue, but not the church yet as its all a bit complicated but have been in constant contact so hopefully sorted soon. We're booking the photography the end of this month when we get paid. I don't need to worry about the cake (OH mum is going to deal with this) I know this is very early but I have the dress I also have my ring as I saw it a couple of months ago in the sale and instantly fell in love with it but apart from that we've done nothing else

Kind of worried at the moment as we've been given our notice in our home. The landlord has sold to permanent owners The wedding was kind of just about affordable and now it's looking a bit further away / more thrifty! This isn't helped by the fact that if we're going to move now we might as well move to somewhere we'll be happy (which was a plan for post wedding anyway) so it's going to knock us back by a couple £100

Not the biggest 'set back' on here, but still sucks! :/

More wedding planning done. I have sent a copy of the menu to FMIL and FFIL ask asked them to choose 1 option (they as a family don't eat beef/lamb/steak) and I gave one to my mum and dad and watched them playfully argue about what they were going to eat on the day.

I have ordered a sample of Favours.

And the best one is I was browsing Debenhams website last night, and the flower girl dresses I wanted kept getting reduced in price from £65.00 to £17.50 so I bought them in 2 sizes bigger than the girls are now.

I haven't been here for a while but it's great to check in and see everyone's progress.

I found my dress! Only went to one shop and tried on a hand full but I knew I really loved it right away. Now I just need to lose a lot of weight before ordering it later this year! It's very different to what I thought I wanted but I loved the way it made me feel and look.

Oh my gosh, I love this dress! I love the neckline and lace details. This is something I'm looking for, but with cap sleeves and tea length/knee length

HELP LADIES ... MIL DILEMMA!

So, right from the start my future MIL offered to make our wedding cake which I was over the moon with. The problem is she just won't listen to what we want and so far she has made two practice cakes and they are just not what we asked for but what she wants to make. Here's my problem, how do we say thank you for the offer but I want to pay someone to make the cake that we want without hurting her feelings, if that's at all possible ... I hope I don't sound ungrateful as at the end of the day it's only a cake but I had my heart set on a simple elegant cake and she just doesn't seem to understand. Any advice welcome!

could you tell her that, you really need her help with the run up to the wedding and you think making the cake will be too much, then say you dont mind paying for a cake

That was my first thought. "This way you'll have more time to help us with other things!"

Thanks girls. I must confess this had crossed my mind to tell a teeny weeny white lie about winning a cake competition so as not to hurt her feelings. I think this is the plan of action that I may take unless OH is brave enough to just tell her that what she is offering is not what we want but thanks for the offer. Wish me luck !!! ?

This is a great idea. I wish I had thought of it when my aunt kindly offered to make us a cake. I think my mum told her that MIL was already buying us one but it was a bit awkward at the time. This was before hitched came in to my life! I'd know what to do now - just ask you guys!

I got the call yesterday, my dress has arrived ?. Going to pick it up on Friday, can't wait to put it on again!

I've got another dress shopping appointment on Saturday. At this rate I think I'll be going on my own. My 2 CBMs don't seem overly bothered about finding the time to come with me, despite me giving them plenty of notice and making multiple appointments. I'm trying to be as accommodating and reasonable as I can but it doesn't seem to matter.

There are some beauties there that I'm looking forward to trying on!

Well 12 months today I'll be a Mrs!! Can't wait for the big day but I've got to say I can do without all the stress at the moment, that said some of the dramas are of my own making. Like falling in love with another wedding dress, not a big problem apart from I bought my original from my best friends shop so now I have to explain to my best friend & chief bridesmaid that I won't be using the dress from her shop. Terrified is not the word. On a sad note we also found out that my grandmas cancer has now spread & the doctors have given her weeks so we had a very teary conversation at the hospital about how she won't make the wedding. So I've had my orders to enjoy every moment. Just a bit tough to imagine at this time.

Just got my Save the Dates, Invites, and table place cards delivered super happy with them, and I had so so much fun designing them that I am thinking about starting my own stationery printing business... If I do, any suggestions out there from brides to be????

Thank you Calella, we've just moved her to a hospice so it's tough at the moment. I had thought of instead of table numbers using years of successful family weddings along with the wedding photos & adding my grandma & grandads into that. So that way she'll be there in spirit xx

Ooh same date as me!!!

OMG so I am totally organised with this wedding, everything's booked when OH decides he wants the ceremony somewhere else. After listening to his reasons I agree that it makes sense to move the ceremony venue. The only problem now is I can't book the ceremony at the new venue until exactly one year in advance. Now I have to wait and pray we can get the same day and time. Stressed doesnt even cover it !!! ?
