Wow, big change! How come you're moving the ceremony?

Hiya everyone, It's fab to see how organised everyone is! I haven't been on here for ages I have been pre occupied doing all my final assessments for my nursing degree! stressed!!! Anyway, they are all done so I'm back in wedding mode! I am now just getting my cars organised and also the flowers, got great quotes for both so very pleased! Planning on going dress shopping in mid may/june then bridesmaid shopping in july. Can't believe im near the 13 month mark already!

The reason he wants to move the ceremony venue is because the registry office we had booked was so busy as it was in the centre if town and parking was a nightmare. The new venue is slightly further away for our guests (10 mins) but easier for them all to park and easier to get to. I do agree with him but I won't cancel the ceremony we have booked until I know fir sure I can have new venue. A little stressed about it so fingers crossed I can 're-book ?

Yeah that does make sense. Fingers crossed for you being able to switch!

I almost booked my piper today but I'm having wobbles. I really wanted a piper in full highland dress, so he stood out from the wedding party... He's on the expensive side but apparently is very good! I just don't know!

We had a bit of a panic yesterday! Found out the venue is having massive building works - a new swimming pool and 22 more rooms. I could picture us on a building site! I called and its actually due for completion by the end of the year so even if they go over, it will be built and its around the back of the hotel (we are at the front)

We are thinking a few days in Berlin then fly to Greece (Rhodes or Zante, not really sure!) For a few days relaxing x

We can't decide! We've always planned on going back to Mexico as we loved it but now we've started looking around there's some many places we'd like to go. St Lucia and Antigua are the other possibilities at the moment.

We want to go on honeymoon somewhere neither of us has been so that rules out a lot of honeymoon spots for us! We're looking at Thailand, Philippines or Mauritius at the moment!

For honeymoon we are planning to go to Vegas for a few nights, drive to LA and spend a couple of days there and then fly to San Francisco.

We aren't going on a honeymoon until our 1st anniversary BUT, we're going to go on a tour of Italy.

We plan on leaving it a few months til around November before we go anywhere. Or we might leave it til the January so we can have more holiday allowance!

Was dress shopping again last night, dresses were all dirty and covered in makeup/fake tan. Shop assistants looked unprofessional and admitted to being hungover. She was standing all over the dresses in her boots, the most expensive dress in the shop included! It was overall a rather unpleasant experience!

Ugh Calella, that sounds horrible. How do some of these places stay in business?! I would have no confidence in them.

I know right?! They expect you to pay upwards of a thousand pounds on a dress and they don't even treat the dresses with any kind of care or respect? Some of the zips were broken on them, lipstick and fake tan on them. No way could I justify giving them my money. Would they be careful with it when it came into the store or trample over it like they do the samples?!

We're having a 'mini-moon' to Italy (Sorrento or Rome) for 4 days after wedding without our son (who'll be 18mths and stopping with Nanny & grandad) and then having a longer trip in autumn with him to either California or a far east cruise.

What do you like doing - fly & flop on beach or exploring or bit of both? Start with that and then what climate you want and go from there. What have you been looking at so far?

That would put me off a store SO much! I don't know how places expect to stay open when they treat their stock and customers like rubbish!


I've just sat and worked out what we have left to do, by when and what we have to pay and by when.
Good news is, all we need to do is email the company/order our invitations and make our favours (mixtape cd's).
Though i'm having a nightmare finding a way to get a cd listing onto the back of cd packaging

We are at 10 months now and im pretty organised. The last 6 months have flown in. Just paying it all off now stage by stage and watching all our bits and bobs come together. On a weight loss mission and determined not try my dress on again till 6 month mark with a view to it fitting like a glove. Our honeymoon is booked for pacific coast of mexico onky five days after the big day. So very exciting watching everyone enjoy this journey together. Not long now ladies and gents!! Xx

Thanks Ladies for all your honeymoon help. Well we've only gone and booked it. 10 nights in a 5 star luxury hotel in the Dominican Republic 3 days after we get married. Way too excited !!! ?

I think I'm going to cancel our wedding. I'm not upset about it, I just think it's the right thing to do. I don't think we're suited at all, definitely not marriage material that's for sure. We still argue, he's totally changed from the first time we got together and it's not just me that's noticed my parents and brother have too. He's just a pig, his manners are disgusting he'll fart in the kitchen on purpose when foods around and if I say "can you not do that in here please it's horrible". He'll say "what's the matter it's just a fart, what do you want me to do shove a cork up my arse". It's the same for burping, just does it loud and doesn't always say pardon. If we've had an argument that evening he'll do both these things on purpose and really force them to wind me up! He's also controlling when it comes to my money, says I waste it on crap yet when I say something to him about money, he gets all high and mighty and says it's his money he can do what he likes. The only one time this year that I can remember him being like his old self when I first met him (nice) was when I'd just come out of hospital he'd made me breakfast in bed and we spent the day at the seaside NO arguments NO raised voices! The only pleasant things about him is that he leaves little messages in the morning sometimes, will bring me flowers if he's been shopping after work, and he understands my health problems and hasn't run a mile because of them, he even takes me to hospital when I stay for 2 weeks if my parents can't do it. i honestly don't know if this is (I'm going to get personal here) ... All about the lack of intimacy. He apparently used to get it every night with his ex where as with me there's been known to be a gap of 6 months but that's because it doesn't interest seriously if it was to never happen again it wouldn't bother me! And I find it painful. So this could possibly be frustration :/

Im off to see a clairvoyant in 2 weeks time (must remember poker face) I wonder if they'd bring anything up, the last one told my mum that my ex was controlling which was spot on he again didn't like me spending money.

Aw little snowflake, I'm sorry to read you're feeling like this. Sending you some internet hugs.

It sounds a lot as if you have already made your mind up to be honest, but have you tried explaining to him just like you have above, how upsetting you find his behaviour now compared to when you first met. I know we all change in our relationships and we don't stay on our best behaviour in the honeymoon period forever, but it's after that period passes that there still needs to be some good stuff there.

Me and my OH wind each other up loads, but that's just us. But your OH telling you what you can and can't spend your money on is never OK. And as for the intimacy, yes it's important but personally I don't believe that he was at it every night with his ex. That sounds like something that has been said to guilt you in to trying to match up. Sorry to be blunt there.

A lack of intimacy is no excuse for being horrible. Even though my other half farts and burps all the time (I'm probably the same though - not lady like at all!) he wouldn't force it to make me feel worse.

My dad died nearly 2 years ago and since then i've just not wanted to do anything, I'm much the same at the mo. In fact it makes me really anxious and he knows this and respects it now. We had problems about it at first but now we just go slow, even though I probably should make more effort.

it does sound like you've made your mind up. Maybe even if you dont cancel its better to postpone it? It's a lot of money and a lot of money to get out of it if your not 100 percent sure xx

I'm sorry to read this Little Snow Flake! I think maybe a conversation needs to be had, and if he can't be mature about it, then maybe it is for the best if you guys take a break. Perhaps a little wake up call will open his eyes a bit?

The money is concerning, you're supposed to be a partnership and for him to treat you in that way isn't very fair at all.

At least you're figuring things out now rather than after the wedding. We're all here for you!

LS, as the others have said it looks like you have made your mind up and the money issue is worrying. I don't know if you managed to sort out anything last time you mentioned calling it off, but if things are back to where they where and you still feel the same, maybe it is for the best. As for the intimacy thing, I think he was telling little fibs on the "every day" front with his ex. The pain part, that could be a number of reasons, but, if you are not mentally in to it and you have all these other thoughts of not wanting to marry, or be with him, and you wouldnt care if it happened again, that all sort of over rides your body. They do say that sex is a mental thing not just physical.

If you think sitting down and having it all out with him will help, then do it, but if you think it has gone past the point f being salvaged, as hard as it will be, it would be the best for both of you if you called it a day.

I know it wont be an easy decision, but you have been thinking about it, you have mentioned it before, so I think deep down you know what you want to do. It would be best to do it now than after a wedding with a messy divorce.
