Rach+Jon - Yayy congrats! We have done the venue, ordered save the dates and booked hair & makeup lady so far. I'm enjoying the planning so far.

We get married on August 21 2016... 1 Year 3 months and 2 days away!!! YAYYY

Our next thing is photographers, after doing lots of research online, we have got consultations with 4 at the end of this month and will make a decision after meeting them.

So I have had a change of heart and swapped my wedding venue and date! I wasn't happy with what we had and kept looking around and I am so glad I did as I have found my dream venue! I couldn't be happier and keep looking at pictures and reviews on the Internet........totally obsessed! The compromise as there is always one is its a little further than what we wanted probably eliminating some people from coming but my h2b said the people who mean the most will be there and that's true! It's a beautiful Manor house. It's not overwhelming big but quite quaint with a gorgeous ceremony room, bar, lounge area, conservatory and library. It has acres of grounds so we will get gorgeous pictures and best of all it has bedrooms for all our guests to stay. We are having everything in one place as it will be exclusively ours! I feel like it is definitely the one as I had not heard of the place before but posted on a bride forum and recieved different quotes for venues and this one sent a brochure in the post. My h2b and I decided to arrange a visit on a whim as it was so far out and fell in love with it! Feel like I can start planning everything else now! Yay!!

Please can you take me off 16th July 2016 and add me to 11th June 2016.

Gah! I'm having a right mare with these. They were supposed to be dispatched next day so I was hoping to have them on Monday. Just chased them up and apparently the order was cancelled at the weekend because they were out of stock ? Now waiting for the money to come back into my account before I can hunt them down in store.

I'm having a bit of a nightmare with BM dresses. I just don't know what colour to get Our colour scheme is purple but OH's kilt is dark blue and green so I don't know what will look best. Considering just putting them in grey or navy and giving them purple and white flowers!

Showed my grandma my dress last night, she loves it! Also found a local boutique to get a veil at a fraction of the price than the bridal stores so I'm pleased with that!

Was looking at cars last night too, feels like everything is coming together

Is anyone having wedding dreams yet? I have started having them every night!!

Apparently they have a few in store and I work in Central London so there's a few options nearby so I will definitely track them down soon, it's just annoying. Truth be told I am hoping they are closer to silver in real life too, I just think it would go slightly better. They are described as 'Platinum' on the site and they don't look quite so 'gold' on the model pic so fingers crossed.

Oh I think either grey or navy with the purple flowers sounds gorgeous. What sort of purple is your colour scheme?

I want to incorporate forget me nots and bluebells in there too. So I'll have flowers like those and the girls will have white and flashes of purple.

RE wedding dreams, I have wedding nightmares. OH's aunt and I had a bit of a disagreement last year in which I tried to apologize for a misunderstanding on her part, and I ended up very upset and we don't speak. OH isn't happy at her behaviour at all, so I keep having nightmares about her ruining the wedding. Specifically pouring glasses of red wine down my dress, standing on my train, shouting during the ceremony and being a general menace!

As a surprise, my mums partner has ordered the irregular choice perfectly glittery shoes for me and i actually can't believe it. I've bene lusting after them for months but could never justify the cost and was resigned to wearing shoes i wasn't fussed on.

Also, our florist posted some pictures of her recent work the other day and they are stunning and i'm just SO glad i found her. I know its not everyones taste, but it will be somewhere between the two of these.

At the moment, everything really seems to be coming together and its such a relief.

OH, ALSO.....MY DRESS IS IN STORE AND I PICK IT UP ON SATURDAY.
I might be a bit excited, haha.

Re wedding dreams, only had the 1 so far and it was more of a nightmare, the wedding came round and I only had organised what I've done so far! Think it's my inner control freak telling me to get a move on! Has inspired me to get my bum into gear!!!

And the wedding dress shopping went way better than I thought it would and I actually found THE dress and have put a deposit down! Had no intention of finding the dress but when it happens it happens it's not at all what I thought I'd go for but I love it, I fell in love with it as soon as I laid eyes on it! It won't be in for 5/6 months and I don't know how I'll wait that long now! So jealous of you ladies with yours already! Although they did say I can go in and try the sample dress on whenever I want to!!! Eeek!!

Hi everyone!

Less than eight months to go, how did that happen?!?! Finally finished uni for the year a couple of weeks ago so planning in full force now. I have a monthly 'to do' plan, an excel budget spreadsheet, table plans done, and RSVP lists set up ready!

Big stuff booked: Venue, photographer, registrar, band, hog roast for evening reception.

We have had one menu tasting and have another organised for two weeks time when we hope to finalise our wedding breakfast menu. I've bought one of the manzanita trees I'm planning on having for centrepieces and just need to finalise how I want that to look before I order the rest. Most of the wine is bought, just waiting for the red to go on offer again to get it at half price.

Going wedding dress shopping tomorrow for the first time.

Have also decided that for favours we are going to do small bags of sweets or popcorn or something and then make a donation to a local cancer charity - each favour will get a card saying 'A donation has been made on your behalf to .....(charity) in memory of those who can't be here today'. What do you think of this - nice idea or not sure? Would appreciate any feedback!

Whew long post. But finally starting to feel like I'm on top of things! The shoe pics are making me want to shoe shop, all gorgeous!!

I had a wedding nightmare last night probably because i'd seen on here people talking about wedding dreams haha. I dreamt that it was my wedding day and the weather was so gloomy and the skies grey and then it started snowing and I was like but its june.... I picked june as thought it be sunny and was devasted as my photo's where ruined because the skies where so dark. Then my hair was a mess and it hadn't been styled and i'd forgotten to have my nails done and they looked a wreck as well haha. Let's just hope it doesn't snow in june next year. Am pretty much organised paid first deposit on venue, fully paid the photographer (got through wowcher for a bargain) and got insurance and paid registrar first fee. Also bought my shoes. Haven't picked out my dress yet but I wanted shoes i would wear again. I've been eyeing up this pair for few months and they where £130-140 couple months back at full price and I couldn't afford that much as i'd only budgeted £50 max for shoes. So I thought wait to they go on sale and they did but only to £80. I tried them on in debenhams and fell in love and thought I just have to have them. Got home and shopped about and found them on shoeacholics website for £40 (Bargain!!). It was free returns so I got the smaller heel and bigger and being a true scouser had to have the higher heel. Only issue is am 5.7 without heels and my partner is 5.10/5.11 so we are similar height in my heels. Called Gemini from Kurt Geiger and are a pale pink with pale pink gems and clear gems that shine like a pale blue/lilac when they move. They are even nicer in real life.

Rach those are lovely! I'll have to have a look on that website! I can't decide between open or closed toe shoes.

So glad I am not the only person who had dreams! Sorry for making some last night!!! Mine have been:-

Shoes got lost and someone gave me a pair from lost property
OH saw me when I arrived (in a car, we don't even have cars!)
My mum telling me I looked stupid with a veil
Building was a run down barn with holes in the ceiling - dream self loved it but I was screaming noooooooooooooo
Engagement ring fell apart and I was trying to catch the stones
OH lost my wedding ring

Hopefully done for now......

As for dream, i've had 1 in which we forgot to BUY rings and we weren't allowed to get married. My dress ended up ripped. My make up looked like a clown.
Nothing went right, haha.

made OH try his shoes on to make sure the heights work and we're fine! Sooo excited! They're gorgeous and I just want to wear them all the time!!!

I am also pleased to report that after having my online shoe order cancelled, I managed to get the last pair in my size in a shop last night! And they are definitely not gold ?

Well we all (maybe not all) love shoes! And it takes away from the horror of how much everything else costs haha!

I tried the Maddens on and I just have a feeling that they're not right. The middle bar won't sit right and it just looks wrong... Now thinking of getting something that'll cover my toes. Maybe these?

I've been trying to catch up on all the lovely shoes but may have missed some, but love them all. Just my "2 pence" worth. I have a funny thing about people standing on my feet so ive gone for a full toe on my shoes and the heel isnt too high. so im hoping I can wear them all day, but time will tell

I'n jealous of you ladies that can wear peep toe shoes....my toes aren't long enough to peep at the front and it looks ridiculous

@karen, are you hiding yours from your OH or does he not want to see them? My OH has said he doesn't want to see my shoes so it's proving difficult to break them in. It's weird, I didnt mind him seeing them but he doesn't want to see anything I'm wearing until the day. Is anyone else's OH not wanting to see their shoes?

It's more to do with the fact that we are about a month away from moving house so we are living amongst boxes and I just have nowhere to put them! I'm not trying to hide them, I just don't want them to get lost or damaged amongst everything else. Having said that though I don't want him to see them until the day. So like you, I will struggle to find some time to break them in properly!

I showed my OH the shoes, he says they're lovely, but he doesn't really care about shoes. It's taking so much not to show him my dress! I hate keeping secrets from him, arghhh!

We wanted to make sure that we've got the heights right, OH has ghillie brogues which make him a few inches taller! I'm determined that he's to be taller than me when I have my heels on, he's 5'10 and I'm 5'5 so with my heels on I can be almost his height/taller!

I showed OH the shoes on my phone about 5 times a day trying to convince him it was worth the money - ha!
He hasn't seen my dress, but he isn't bother whether he does or not because it will look totally different once i've had hair and make up and accessories etc. I know he is right, but he still isn't going to bloody see it haha.
