We are having to put our wedding back a year as we can't afford it for next year. I think I was a little too ambitious trying to plan a wedding and complete my final year of nursing school at the same time!! Good luck to everyone and I hope you have the best day you can have xx

Me and my OH have booked our wedding venue for the ceremony and the reception today!

We are getting married on 7th July 2016!!! I am so happy!

Funnily enough it wasn't until after we booked that we realised we had chosen the anniversary date when my OH proposed to me in Waikiki, Hawaii 2 years before! It was meant to be!!!

Congratulations Pink Roses! Funnily enough, the exact same thing happened when we were booking our venue - and it only dawned on us later that we would be getting married on the same date that we got engaged, also 2 years later. We knew the date was ringing a bell, but we couldn't put our finger on it!

I thought i'd replied but it was still in edit mode when I looked on my phone. That pants that your health isnt too good at the minute, hope it picks up soon and sending hugs.

Glad you think it was the best decision, im guessing you have split up completely then? Selling the house and moving back home sounds like a nice clean start is on the horizon, and why not, you deserve to be happy ?

The planning is ticking along nicely, majority is done now. I am thinking i've missed something, but ah well, will get there in the end. Pop back anytime, even just for a chat, you know where we are.

We changed the time of our wedding today and i'm pretty relieved about it, to be honest. We're getting married in a lighthouse, so can only get to it when the tide is out and weren't going to have long inside - so we have moved the ceremony forward by an hour to 11am to get another hour in.

Need to get it ordered next week as it takes 6 months to order and get altered etc and I only have 7 months and 6 days to go! Starting to feel real now.

Hellandglory we're getting married at 11.30, purely because i think paying 8 grand for a venue i want it ALL day. Im worrying of the rush to get ready but I'm sure it will be fine. Have you got a getting ready schedule?

Hey, we're saving approx £500 per month each from January just gone until wedding July 2016. My dad is also chipping in. So paying deposits as we go and should clear balances before the big day. No credit cards or loans. Too scary for me to do that.

Well we booked our ceremony and venue on Sunday and we have 3 instalments to pay until the wedding day spaced over a year. We are currently saving and will pay it off with the savings but we are also in the process of selling our house and buying a new one so there is a lot to do! Yes me and my OH are crazy!lol

Our venue states it will charge a % for using a credit card so be careful if you are going to use a credit card and check your terms and conditions from the contract with the venue.

Personally I believe its always best to try and save and then at least on the big day you know its all paid off and you can enjoy yourself without the worry of credit cards or loans but unfortunately with the world we live in today not everyone is able to do that, so I would say your best bet would be to go for a credit card that does 0% over 33 months etc. That way paying the credit card off monthly would be like saving, if that makes sense!?

I'm saving about £500 per month for the both of us (all bills etc are already in OH's name) and putting in some of the 'birthday money' savings I've had stored for a 'special occasion' along with putting some of any extra money from work to one side to help bump anything that might go over budget. OH's parents are helping a lot, and we're paying in installments for the big things and doing as much DIY/researching for cheap deals as possible! We both had expensive tastes in venue, but agreed this, having as much family as possible present and a live band were our main priorities, so it's going to be worth it Oh and my mum's offered to buy my dress and we have a lot of very talented family friends (cake maker, dress maker, printer/graphic designer) - it all counts!

I have a rough guideline i think?

6.30am - hair and make up arrive (separate people)

7.00am - start on mum and bridesmaid

8.30am - start on me - yay!

9.45am - dress on

10.20am - leave house for venue (its 15 minutes away)

We're lucky in that our venue is only costing us £420 for the ceremony and the room for food (its the same room, and we will have to move it around ourselves...this is fine for our picnic lunch ) Its not the cost that makes me want to spend as much time, its the stunning views - you can imagine the views from the top of a lighthouse! Of course how long we are inside depends on the tide as well - so that extra hour for food will make all the difference!

Well I have booked a lovely violinist and pianist called Simon Jordan, who played at my sister's wedding. He plays anything and has asked us to pick the music!

So, finally plucked up the courage to tell FMIL that she is not making the wedding cake. Glad I did as, after talking to the professional wedding cake maker, it would have been too much for FMIL to do and, although we want a simple cake, it requires a professional to do it really. I must confess, I am relieved and, despite FMIL being really upset at first, I think she is now quite relieved too that she does not have to make it. So, wedding cake now ordered and all happy.

Also booked our wedding night hotel so all coming together slowly but surely.

Hope everyone else is moving forward with their planning.

Soon be at the year mark for me but some of you are already there, you lucky things!!!

We are getting so much closer to the year mark now!

This week I've been getting quotes for coaches that we're putting on - think we have chosen so will hopefully get that sorted soon. We are still slacking with save the dates (the downside of printing yourself) but that should happen in the next couple of weeks too. Things are coming together

On Monday I find out a little more about my treatment so I'll get an idea of how much time that'll take me away from wedding stuff for. I'm sure it'll all be fine anyway!

Great to hear from you Laura. When were you thinking of sending out your save the dates? I was thinking of giving people are website details instead of a "save the date" so they can get an idea of what is going on and where and when etc.
