****2016 Brides**** 326 brides (and 3 grooms!) so far!

We have just ordered our Save The Date Cards and they should be with us next week and then we are sending them out straight away.

We are getting married on 7th July 2016!

I would say the sooner you send them the better, only because being the summer time a lot of people do book holidays and go away, for example my best friend has just booked her holiday for next year and luckily I already told her the date of my wedding before the Save the date cards go out otherwise she might not have been there!

Pasting something I've posted in the past to answer questions about when to send them out:

Going to send out my STD cards end of Aug/Sept as that will be the 1yr mark. I have brought some magnetic card/paper - don't know if it will work out through will have a trial first.( don't know how to flash a pic of them as they aren't a photo)

A couple that we both know have offered to print them out - won't let us pay for the ink even though we want too - will have chat with OH, and suggest buying them a gift.

Another friend who is great at drawing/ designing is going to do our wedding invites just got to get some ideas of what we want, OH is really into music - need inspiration on how to include in the invites.

3wks to go then I can book the church - as it's not my parish church, I have had to attend for 6mths can't believe how fast time is going. Once I've got the church sorted out then hopefully with be able to book the car.

02 July 2016 for me! You can't ever start too early I am getting hassle already from people about accommodation and clothing etc......WOW the guests need to chill lol

Call me sad, but I've just been through this thread from the beginning and I can't believe how organised you all are! I wish I had that level of motivation! I have just under 10 months to go and - with an overly optimistic feeling about the whole thing - (wrongly) expect everything will fall into place without any hassle.

In fairness, I have the venue and the registrar booked so at the very least, there will be a wedding! The date is Thursday 21st April, so fingers crossed it's on a day at time of year where suppliers are still fairly quiet (?!?!)

I have my very first dress appointment on the 11th July with my mum, MIL and SIL booked. I'm so excited, although a little scared about falling in love with something that costs the earth. Don't have a clue what's going to suit me; have visions of a princess gown, but I'm wary about how I'll be able to go to toilet!

The caterers are employed solely by the venue, so shouldn't have to worry there. They have an open day in October and then we'll have another appointment sometime in winter to finalise menu options.

Flowers, photographer and entertainment is all included in the venue package, although I need to contact them individually to confirm.

I've found a cake company that make amazing-looking cakes and bonus, their shop is a 2 minute walk from work. I need to organise a consultation (a.ka. cake tasting meeting!!!!!) and then get them booked in.

Everything else is up in the air and it scares me just how much I need to do...

Question: I was talking to my OH about suit hire the other day and he doesn't see the point in having everyone matching. Currently, he has a best man and no ushers, although both our fathers and my brother will be there. I don't know if it will look silly if they're all wearing different suits or if I should 'push' to have them all in the same suit. What are all you lovely folk doing?

Have now found out its FA Cup Final Day too!

So...i got my shoes today! I was so worried about shoes, and they're the only thing i have been dreading finding as i have really awkward feet - very wide but a huge instep so next to no shoes actually fit or stay on my feet. I really thought i was going to be making my own glitter shoes...but THEN i found these irregular choice beauties in schuh and they fit like a glove!

Needless to say, i LOVE them - so sparkly and cute!

pooba - we gave best man and dads choice whether they wanted to wear whatever they like or match but let them know that they would have to pay for suits if they wanted to buy new ones. All of them have said they don't paying themselves

Shoes look lovely H&G! I picked mine up on Friday and tried them on with my dress on Saturday. I am in LOVE!!! Think we're going to have to take some time off booking things and just take it easy for a while. A lot of things are organised now. I don't feel much pressure at all. Pretending the guest list doesn't exist for as long as possible! Meetings start up again in October/November time.

@hellandglory those shoes are gorgeous, can I ask where you got them, they are almost identical to the type I am looking for just maybe a different colour.

Thanks for the note about suits, sounds like a good plan. I'm thinking that I'll just let the men decide what they want to do. As long as people are comfy and happy, I don't really care what they're wearing.

Hi Ladies!

I am getting married on 7th July 2016!

We booked our venue 2 weeks ago now and I am so excited!!!

We have paid our deposit for the registrar, i am so relieved we got that booked as I was driving my OH mad worrying that they would be fully booked but its ok we got the time we wanted! (Starting to worry a little now though that I haven't left enough time to get my hair and makeup done in the morning, plus MOB and Sister getting their hair and make up done, PLUS I am making my own Wedding Cake and will have to put it all together on the morning of our Wedding at the venue!)

I already have my Wedding Dress, Shoes, Tiara, Garter. I have the bridesmaid dress and shoes too and we have booked the DJ and Sweet Cart! Phew!

We have been invited to our wedding venue to discuss plans tomorrow and I ordered the save the date cards last week so really looking forward to sending those out too!

I know me and the OH have so much more to book but I think we are doing well!

My shoes came on Monday Trying to resist wearing them all the time. The IC's are beaaaut though.

Ordered some pom poms off eBay - 11.99 for 30 mixed colour and sizes, thought that was good. Im gonna buy some balloons (hearts, dinosaurs and unicorns!!) from paper chase and a scrapbook. Im still trying to figure out a cheap way for my photo guest book to work...

On the topic of suits, I'm not against suits not matching, but more for money reasons I have to admit! But if you google 'mismatched suits wedding' you will get an idea - to me they look great but they may not be your style at all. We might end up with matching suits because it's what OH wants (so the opposite to you!) but I would still be happy if they didn't and wouldn't think it looked silly if I was a guest.

On topic of shoes, I did buy these.. my friend thinks they're too bling and clashes with the beading/lace/bling of my dress? What do you all think?

She loved the dress on me but I just think she's more of the simple elegant type while I like bling and detail. But at the same time I don't want to be tooooo much if you know what I mean.. lol

I don't think it's too much! have you tried them on together? I would do that and then you can see for yourself how it looks as a whole

re suits - our day is really laid back, in a lighthouse and then the reception is on the beach....no need for matchy matchy formalities for us

also, i've been trying to think of what we still need to organise/buy/book....and i don't think there is anything other than our rings. I'm finding i'm looking for extra things now though, because i feel like there should still be more to do!

I forgot who posted, but yesterday i got a scrapbook from paperchase for £3 in the sale to use as our guestbook! We're having guests write is a postcard with advice, memories etc etc and then we'll stick them in, along side some wedding photos as well because the book is quite big. Definitely check out the sale whilst it lasts!

I saw scrapbooks in Hobbycraft that were heavily reduced. They had differnt sizes in black, brown or white. I was tempted but resisted!

We've just got to confirm our entertainment, book the cars and got our cake consultation next month!

Shoes, shoes, shoes! You all have such beautiful taste! I wish I could handle high heels - I imagine I'll be going for a flat shoe, just so I can guarantee I'll still be standing by the end of the night.

Laura - thanks for the tip with regards to looking at Google. Confirmed that I'm really not fussed about everyone having matching suits, so OH has free reign on that decision!

I have 302 days, 2 1/2 hours until I'm married. Not that I'm counting down each second at all... ? ?

I have 393 days, 22 hours and 10 minutes.....i'm not counting either haha.

One year exactly to my wedding! I just want to get every thing in place. Still haven't been dress shopping and haven't settled on a reception venue. We think we've found the place, but my H2B wants' to see a few others before making the final decision. In my head it's been decided already, although I see what he's saying. He just wants to be sure.

Love all the heels in the thread, but so jealous cause I can't wear them, it's going to be enough of a trial for me to walk down the aisle as it is in flats. I normally use a walking stick, but I'm determined I'll be walking without it on the day. So I will probably be weaving down the aisle rather than walking!

So we've changed our wedding date, now getting married a day later, 25 June 2016. Makes it easier for the people attending the wedding with kids, they won't have to take them out of school or arrange for them to be picked up by someone else as we were originally getting married at 3pm.

I'm new here and just found this thread, which is lucky for me as we have just booked our wedding for 3rd June 2016! So excited!! Can't wait to get to know you all

Ah a date twin, how exciting! I dont really know anyone else who is getting married so it's nice to chat with people who actually understand what I am going on about! We have just booked our venue and I've also already got my dress! Everything else seems abit scary at the moment! How far have you got with everything?

@jaderoberts91, so far I seem organised. I have the venue,church,photographer,band,kilts,my dress and cars organised. Next on the list is BM dresses. I have also designed my invites so I know what I am doing when they need done. Sending out save the dates in next few weeks. It's very exciting!
