Thank you girls, that makes me feel better - you're right, my sisters have been more involved and I was hoping it would just make it more real. I'm not planning on doing it until a bit closer in case thye get excited - I wouldn't want to upset the FSIL!

Got dress shopping in two weeks - it feels like FOREVER since I booked this out, but had to wait until mum and little sister (mum works in a pre-school and sister is IN school) were off. Cannot wait, although keeping it the dress a secret for just under a year will be torture so might have to do a cheeky flash asap!

I'm just a few days away from being at the 13 month mark! I've got most things done that I can at this stage. Now we just need to save up and pay for it all!

Guest list is still awful. Kind of just want to tell everyone to show up then pull names out a hat to see who gets to come in and who has to come back later for the evening reception haha! it wouldn't be so bad if our venue wasn't strictly 70 guests for the daytime. We're at 78, we're just hoping on some people saying they can't make it. Sending our invites to arrive for April 1st (we thought it would be funny!) so we have time to figure it out.

Started looking at hen do options too. My 2 MOH's aren't really all that interested just yet. I just love planning things so I can't help myself!

Yeah we're putting off the guest list but km a bit more ruthless than the OH for saying they can't come. Ours is more for the ceremony though as it's open invitation after that.

What were you thinking for your hen? I did start looking and planning stuff myself much to my BMS annoyance so today I've decided to pgive up control and pass it all to her. I'll hate it as I won't know what's going on but I trust her ☺

I know! Can't wait til then! Our original date was 30th April then we changed it so I could'be been under 12 months if we'd kept it! It was too much financial strain though.

OH just says he wants people there but I don't! We're only 8 people over so fingers crossed we get more people pulling out. I wish we could cap it at 50 but there's no way

For my hen I REALLY want to go on a 4 night cheapo all inclusive holiday with a few of my girls. I've never been on a girls holiday but would love to!

I want to have an afternoon tea with the ladies of the family, most of them are tea total so it'll just be something quiet. Then those who want to have a boozy night can continue on to a club or something. I was hoping for a spa day to recover the next day! Just ideas really!

I don't actually want a hen night! My H2B's aunt has informed me however, that I'll be going out for lunch organised by her daughter. I'm not having bridesmaids either. If I can avoid the lunch I will, not that I don't like the company, it's just that I don't want the spotlight on me for too long. It's going to be bad enough for the wedding itself as I'm a naturally shy person and I hate too much fuss! Gosh I sound mean ....

Less than 10 months to go, I didn't have a '1 year to go' as we only got engaged on 13th June! In the last six weeks we've booked the venue and registrar, got a photographer, and block booked a couple of local B&Bs for accommodation. Next jobs are a band and my dress! The best men, MOH and flower girls have been chosen too. Feeling like it's all under control at the moment!

I went to a hen do this year and the b2b was very similar doesn't like to have the attention. We ended up going to a cabert type night meal and entertainment for a set price it was more of a night out there was no veil or sash etc on the b2b there was a balloon on the table that the venue supplied (there were a lot of other hen dos and parties so it didn't get noticed) she didnt get up and dance and there were none of the typical "games".she had a really good night though, just what she wanted.

Ohh that would be nice you can get some really cheap ones. The o the year we got an all inclusive holiday for the 2 of us for a week to spain for about £130 each. The hotel wasn't the best but it was clean and the staff were friendly and we had a fab time. So its doable. Look online at teletext holidays.

The afternoon tea one sounds good too, a good mixture for everyone

13 months today for me! Everything is feeling a bit up and the air with my job right now, so I'm extremely stressed about how we're going to pay for it all.

I don't mind making cut backs but we've booked so much already! Just have to hope I find something else soon.

So..... 236 days to go!!! About 8 Months... Feeling very real now. Seating plans organised, menu list coming together and first dress measurements next week! eek! So stressful though having been signed off from work and going through a lot emotionally, just can't wait to be a Mrs now

Hi I've been lurking for a while and thought it was time to introduce myself. I get married on 28 March. I can't believe how the time has flown already since we started planning in May. We actually got engaged in September 2013 but delayed planning the wedding to concentrate on our new home. We've pretty much on top of everything and are about to send out the invites; as it's Easter Monday we want to give everyone lots of notice although everyone should know the date by now!

I'm loving reading all your planning details and the advice from the OMs. It's good to know we're not the only ones going through the same issues.

Update from me - most of the hand delivered save the dates are out now. The rest will go out gradually over the next 5 months. People are starting to book their hotel rooms which strangely is the thing that makes it seem most real!

Had my birthday this week and went for a girly shopping day with mum and sister. Mum thinks she has found her outfit, she is trying to justify the cost as it's much more than she expected to spend. Found some potential bridesmaid dresses too so quite a successful trip! Waiting for a couple of weeks and will order the dresses when the 2 of my bridesmaids who live further away are visiting - so may have dresses sorted this time next month!

Next job is to get a start on roughly designing the invitations as I'm paranoid about leaving them to the last minute. Suit shopping for OH this weekend which should be nice
