****2016 Brides**** 326 brides (and 3 grooms!) so far!

We're at 9 months 4 weeks 2 days! All major decisions made, and all but two deposits paid - venue decorator and flowers.

Ive got about 10 months left. ive got my wedding dress being order in september followed by a meeting with the venue and bridesmaid dress shopping/looking in october

Can now say I am a 2016 bride!

He proposed last month and we've managed to book a summer wedding for next year.

PHEW!!! So I bought my wedding dress 18 months ago which has been hanging in my mum's spare bedroom since then. I thought, with just over 10 months to go, I should check it still fits and yep it still does. Such a relief. It was beginning to stress me out. What if I've piled weight on etc, but to my relief I can still get married in it ... yay!!! ?

Ok so I had a dream last night that my wedding had to take place this month instead of the original booked date of May 2016, in my dream the venue had mixed up the dates and because of this I got married with no flowers, no centre pieces, no decorations etc and i was so upset in my dream I didn't have time to make everything pretty like I wanted, I woke up and for a split second I thought it was real!! Now I know the most important thing is marrying the love of your life, but I was honestly devastated that I didn't have time to make my wedding day look how I imagined it. I'm quite organised with the big things, it's just the little things I'm yet to do, i.e buy little decorations, so I'm heading out to pick some things up that I've been putting off for a few months, maybe my dream was just trying to kick me up the bum to get other things organised! Haha

The day after us we're almost done with our planning but then we're only having a small wedding.

Great news about your dress Shelly - always good to have a bit of reassurance!

As for us, we bought 2 of the 6 suits for the grooms party yesterday. So slowly getting stuff done Tried some rings on too and got a good idea of what we want, and how they'll look on. We'd pretty much decided from searching online but it was nice to see that they look how we hoped they would in person too.

I've just noticed I'm a wedding day triplet

We went up to Scotland at the weekend to meet a few suppliers and get some bits sorted. We met our celebrant and she is lovely, I'm so happy we booked her. I can't wait to see her 'script' for our ceremony.

The florist is proving a little harder to decide, I'm waiting for some ideas and prices to come back to me. I really wanted sunflowers (yes I know, January and Sunflowers don't go!) but am swaying more towards having an arrangement of sunflowers to one side and going for roses, thistles, heather and a bit of something else instead.

The kilts for the bridal party are difficult to choose... next time we go up, we will have to take a bridesmaid dress and hold it next to the kilts I think!

Make up trial was done... pretty happy with it but need to make a few adjustments on the day.

Menu tasting done... just need to decide what we want to put on the menu now!

Pretty excited... it's all mostly falling into place Next time we head up there itll be 12 weeks to go!

6 months tomorrow for us!

Pretty much everything is sorted, just a few accessories to purchase.

Our invites have started to go out although the bulk will go in late Sept/early Oct.

Other than paying balances, I guess the next things are my hair and make-up trials which won't be until Jan/Feb.

It's coming around so quickly!!

KayleighJoe we booked our honeymoon last night 2 days after the wedding too and we're also on 8 months to go :-) so exciting!

With our invites were not having a website either but I have put my email and phone number for the RSVPs as most people find that more convenient than sending a piece of card? But that's just the impression I get from the people we know. Hope that helps xx

Hey guys, just wanted to bump this thread back to the top for any new 2016 brides that may have joined over the last few weeks. We're getting closer and closer to pushing everyone over the year mark, and some of you are so close to your weddings already! ?

For me it will be 6 months tomorrow!
Can't believe how fast the time is flying by. We booked the wedding in July 2014.
I think i have most things organised now too.
My biggest worry was getting bridemaid dresses which my bridemaids like and are affordable. This was actually really easy and the most fun i've had with wedding planning. I bought loads for them to try on (9 different dresses in 4 different sizes) and we spent the day at mine doing a fashion show and discussing the wedding. Made me realise I'd chosen the right girls as although they all knew each other they weren't exactly friends but we all just clicked
I know spending the night before and the morning of the wedding will be amazing with these girls beside me

Thanks for bumping, laurafish. I tend to update the April 2016 brides thread a little more frequently, but will endeavour to come on here more often!

I can't remember where I was at when I was on this thread last, but in the past few weeks my mum has sorted her outfit (she looks amazing ) and we have given notice. I think there's only two days left before it's finished, which is much excite. We trekked down to the town hall last week to have a look at our names - it's on a rolling screen with 101 pages. We started watching at page 20 and we were on page 100. Grrr - 30 minutes of my life I won't get back, although mostly worth it to see our names! ha ha.

Stuck in no-mans land planning-wise until we have an open day at our venue in two weekends time - we'll be talking with a lot of the suppliers and organising meetings with florist, MUA, hairdresser, caterer and DJ. Once that's done, I'll have a much better idea on what's left to do

Is it sad that I felt guilty on Monday for missing our 7 month mark? I usually check the countdown every day (now that is sad! ) but I was so busy I forgot. Now at 6 months, 29 days and boy it feels good to say!

Hope everyone else is having fun. 2016 is only round the corner!

Saturday 15th October 2016 for us!! He proposed 2 weeks ago to my utter surprise (and delight!) feel free to add me - I see 2 others have the same date ? It feels so far away, but will come around so quickly!

Finally got my wedding dress yesterday on my birthday what a treat. Am over the moon with it. I chose the dalamo from pronovias 2016 line and can't wait to wear it on my wedding day. My mum is paying for my dress and we planned to get it second hand or a sample as pronovias dresses aren't the cheapest. I've only seen this dress once for sale and miles away in Scotland for £500 cheaper but by time paid for travel and dry cleaning wouldn't be worth it. So my mum kindly offered to buy it new and paid half of it yesterday as a deposit. Had no other choice as takes 6 months to come in and then 3 months for alterations. With my June 2016 that's just less than 9 months away had no choice. It's beautiful and now all I've gotta worry about is what veil to wear haha.

Hi, newbie here! Just engaged a week ago and hoping for a September 2016 wedding, though we've not begin to contact venues yet so I don't know if that'll be possible! I thought a year would be more than enough time (I was initially thinking May 16) but now it seems that it's not that long... here goes!

Just over 5 months to go. I sorted my dress this week. Getting a bespoke gown made. Been brave and elected to have it made 2 inches smaller round the waist to get me in shape for the big day. Next fitting is in midfle of november where i will see the dress made.... Eek. Its just a design in my head at the moment but i am confident. Ordered our wedding flowers opted for silk/brooch type bouquets and thistles for the boys. They should arrrive december. Still getting on with our invitations since we wanted them handmade. Was a good idea at the time ha. Hope all you ladies are in full on wedding mode. We had a big meeting with our venue this last week and its fully enforced just how close it is. #2016brides xxx

An update from me ... our BM dresses are now ordered and should be in around Feb/March time. After the wedding fare at our venue last week we've now booked a starlit backdrop for the top table and 4ft LOVE letters.

I think that's everything either bought and booked so there's nothing more I can do now until after Christmas.

Have plans in January to see the cake maker and invites going out Feb/March time.

Time to start thinking about hen and stag do's ....

A update from me, this is all incredibly exciting and I don't know what I will do with my time once married!!!

We have booked our photography and videographer. Although the videographer I am slightly worried about as I researched them online, really liked their work and booked them after speaking via email. They seem really lovely but live 130 miles from us so just have visions of them not turning up!! I'm a worrier!

We have given notice and get married at 1pm ?

We have our DJ booked who is able to play the vast variety of music we wanted!

We have had a cake consultation with a lovely lady who lives near our venue. I seen a picture online of a vintage cake with a teapot on top, very delicate and detailed and we have been given a very good price! Good job we booked early as she needs time to practice!

Still looking at cars, I have seen a vintage rolls Royce but I'm so indecisive that I'm not sure if it's for me yet!

I have my dress! Fell in love and knew it was the one as my mum started crying and my 2 sisters were emotional! It's at the same shop my older sister brought hers. The first day of dress shopping and the 2nd shop and I found it! Due to be delivered in January and brought it 2 sizes smaller than I am so working hard to get fit!

My H2B has found his suit and suits for the best man and ushers and he is having some very smart shoes specially made!

My H2B aunt is a florist and she will be making all decorative flowers, bouquets and button holes.

Save the dates were vintage luggage tags that we had a stamp specially made for and they have been sent. Looking to send invites in February/March time but haven't ordered them yet, indecisive again!

I have an idea of bridesmaid dresses but will wait until my sister has her baby in February.

We have started to buy props and centre pieces and signs etc etc. We are doing our own sweet table so have the jars, tongs, sign and bags for that.

My H2B has his ring as he knew what he wanted and it was a designer one that I couldn't get to match so will be choosing mine shortly.

We have the menu tasting with our venue in the next month and so will be able to give a choice of food on our invitations.

My mum, 2 sisters and I are going to the Wedding fayre in Birmingham tomorrow so am hoping to get some more ideas.

I still also need to book a photo booth, ice cream stand and bicycle and love letters. Plus I would like a gospel choir to sing me down the aisle, we shall see!

We have also had our visas approved for travelling to the USA so we have started to plan our East Coast adventure. I have had my annual leave at work approved for my honeymoon so I am so looking forward to our 4 week trip!

Hope you are all getting on well. This is my dream come true and I am marrying my best friend so feel on top of the world! ?

Still getting catering quotes in, whittled photographer down to 3 favourites, giving notice at the end of October. It'll all fall into place soon enough. X
