I'm relatively new to the forums and a 2016 bride! Getting married 4th June 2016, so 8 months tomorrow!!!! Eek scary thought!

Been with my h2b for almost 12 years, got engaged in May and I absolutely love wedding planning!!!

Venue & registrar booked, appointment to give notice in a couple of weeks. Photographer booked & florist! DJ sorted, and got our cake baker - just need to decide on design!! Ooh I also have my dress, shoes & my hair & make up artist booked!

Found these forums to be amazing over the last week, love hearing all about everyone else's plans, can't wait to get to know everyone ?

I notice your profile name mentions Brierton but didn't want to assume that's your venue address :p I know a really good icecream company and saw a fantastic retro photo booth company last Saturday that have it inside an adorable campervan - not sure if it is your cup of tea but it was so unique it's worth mentioning

Ive not been on here for about 6 months, decided to have some time out from planning as I'd hit that stale patch where I couldn't be bothered but I'm finally back and I have a date twin

This last week I've bought my tiara, sorted the invites and started to plan the honeymoon!

Need to start to think of all the little things now. We are having a hen do planning afternoon next week, afternoon tea with the girlies, although I think I already know what I want to do. Control freak in me!

Hi everyone!! Hope all is going well! Just a quick update from me on the wedding front. We've got the reception venue booked, just waiting for the paperwork to come through to get the deposit paid, had our meeting with the vicar, so that's the church provisionally booked! Bridesmaids dresses have been selected and ordered! Started looking at photographers now and getting the invites done!

Its all falling into place so quickly! Can't believe we've just over a year to go!

Was your late dress ok citygirl? You're not dressless are you. Bet you would hate to start that again!

Compared to a non existant dress everything else will be a minor hiccup. Need I ask if you have wedding insurance lol. You've paid your dues all will be fine as a friend said to me when I worried I was due a check up just before Lapland.

Finally meeting with a potential wedding photographer today. Been itching to get this done especially now we're under the 10 month mark.

Hi! I've had a complete U-turn since i last posted on this thread with regards to location, venue and most importantly date! Everywhere near us was very same-y, all catering for a big white country wedding which, although are absolutely beautiful, they're not 'us'. So we have decided to have our wedding in the West End of London, near one of our favourite jazz clubs, and I am SO excited!

We booked the registry office yesterday and we are firming up the reception venue this week. My new official wedding date is 26th November 2016!

I can't wait! ?

Just booked our venue! Only a provisional booking so far, but I'd be very surprise if we didn't confirm it - we haven't seen anywhere else we like as much. We'll be getting married on 10 September at the Barbican Conservatory in London. Looking upthread, that seems to be a pretty popular date!

We are finally making some progress with booking our vendors after securing our venue a few months ago. I was getting discouraged trying to find a videographer within our budget that didn't have a noticeable lack of quality and we stumbled upon an amazing one. We're getting the raw footage of our entire day as well a ten minute edited wedding story for 1600 which i'm very excited about.

On Friday I spoke to a woman at work who said her twin siblings got married last six weeks apart and one tried to save on photography and the other splurged. Because the weddings were so close together they received their pictures at the same time and the difference in quality was obvious and the couple that spent less really regretted doing so. This made me a little nervous so we decided to up our photography budget and spend the money on a very basic package for an amazing photographer rather than a cheaper one that includes all sorts of extras. . We figure we can always decide to get a wedding album or add on a photo booth later depending on how the rest of the budget works out rather than sacrificing the quality of the photos. As of right now we will have full printing rights to the photos and our friends and family are able to download as many as they want for free for up to a year and take them anywhere to be printed.

I've also booked an appointment at a Pick Your Own flower farm the day before the wedding. We will pick all the flowers ourselves (so we can make sure we get the best blooms) for the aisle/centrepieces and arrange them in vases we provide ourselves. While we are doing that and enjoying coffee/tea the farm owner/florist will be arranging all of our bouquets, corsages and buttonholes. In total it should come to about 450 so I'm very excited about that. I also live very far away from the venue and all of the wedding party so this will be one of the only wedding planning events I'll get to participate in.

It's been quite stressful over the last weekend because my future in-laws are not used to an American style wedding and are questioning my poor fiance about every decision we make and constantly comparing it to his brother's wedding which was very traditionally English at a country house. I am trying to arrange a bridesmaid dress fitting in a few weeks when I'm in the UK. One bridesmaid lives in London and my fiance's sister (and mother) live about an hour south on the train and they are being difficult about meeting in the middle and won't even entertain the idea of going to the city, even though there will probably be a better selection there than at the shop in their village. They will only consider going to the store that they shopped at for their other son's wedding last year. My other bridesmaid is being gracious enough to travel the entire distance alone, even though she is not from the UK either, rarely travels outside London and doesn't have a car or any familiarity with the train system.

We still have a little less than a year to go so I can only imagine what other issues will pop up.

I feel for your poor bridesmaid but the flower farm sounds amazing.

Yet another bride for 21st of May 2016 here! Had no idea it would be quite this popular but lucky to share my day with so many lovely ladies! Everyone will be inundated with flashes at the end of May/start of June!
