****2016 Brides**** 326 brides (and 3 grooms!) so far!

I wanna try dresses on so bad!! Everyone is saying it's too soon :-( I have no one to come with me as they say it is.

Just go on your own! I went with my chief bridesmaid and our mums and really enjoyed it. It certainly makes you change your mind and realise which styles do and don't suit. I've only gone the once though, I'm worried that if I find something I live and buy it then I might change my mind between now and the wedding as my tastes do change.

What's the harm in going to try some one? I've got mine already (well will have it by September, i've paid half of it off). I think one advantage of finding a dress you love this early is that something that could be a big expense, is out of the way early.

No harm at all, and as you say it gets an expense out of the way early. I just don't trust myself to not change my mind in 2 years, I'm very indecisive!

I feel like Im just pinning things on pinterest and reading magazines! Not really making or booking anything else at the minute.

I am going to the Lancashire wedding show on the 26th with my lovely Fiance and my mum so hopefully that'll put me in the wedding spirit. Im hoping to get some good contacts for suppliers like flowers, bands, etc

I haven't been dress shopping yet either, I think Im going to wait until the end of the year, as our wedding isn't until June 2016 so plenty of time left Im excited to see the dresses though! So many beautiful designers out there!

Hi ladies :-) me and my partner have recently got engaged after 14 years. Were hoping for 8th October 2016.(1 day after we got together in 2000) We met when we were 16 years old, we will have been together 16 years and its 2016, seems like fate to me :-). soooooo excited xx

I've been quiet on this thread recently as nothing is really happening wedding wise at the moment. Everything is full steam ahead with the move at the moment, which is taking up most of our time (and money!). I have been reading and keeping up with you all though I expect once we get past 2 years to go, things will be more active. Before that we have house move and our close friends' wedding to keep us occupied.

I had a very productive weekend, I've managed to book chair covers, table centre pieces, post box, chocolate fountain, popcorn machine, candy cart and photo booth all for a bargain £400 on special offer!! That's pretty much most things taken care of for me now as venue is booked. Registrar is booked. DJ is booked. Tog is booked. Suits are booked. Need to look for my dress but don't want to start too soon. Eeeeek exciting!!

Really excited just booked our registrar. Now we are able to book our venue and our photographer! We have had to change our date though as the venue did not have the date we wanted. So could I have my date now for the 23rd of July.

I see if a lot if exciting stuffs going in :-)

It's official! We've been and put the deposit down on our venue today and the date is set for the 3rd of September. Eeeeeek!!!

We're now at 40 brides!

I know. She only does 8 weddings a year and has a yearly holiday when we wanted our date. But we love the venue so much we just have to have it.

I'm in an excitable mood today, just received the list of icecream options for our icecream cart we are looking to have (as long as their is access in the venue which we will check at the weekend) but they have strawberry and champagne flavour, it would just be wrong not to pick that one, so we need to pick another 3 flavours.

Awesome! Not sure if we will get to have one in the end, but I've always loved the idea of having an ice cream cart

To be honest it's not working out too expensive (not much more than the average wedding cake), I said to my OH i'd rather spend the money on an ice-cream cart than a wedding cake and he agreed. Plus it'll kill some time in the natural lul of the afternoon.

Not getting married outside, but having a marquee and BBQ so will be outside for the rest of it, but yeah nothing wrong with the weather watch, I am thinking I may need to get an umbrella and a wrap incase it's a typical british summer lol

I love the ice cream cart idea too, but I'm not sure it fits in with a wedding at the begginning of March so we wont have one !

Has anyone looked at bridesmaid dresses yet? We went to try some on for mine and my friends wedding last Friday. Pale blush pink is now out cause my bridesmaids don't suit it at all (neither do I!). Now i'm a bit unsure of what colour we'll go for, feel I need to get the bridesmaids dresses so I have a loose colour scheme to follow if that makes sense.

We've booked our venue for August 27th 2016

Just a bit of an update, we've been very, very lucky as my future mother in law surprised us by paying the deposit for our reception venue at the same time as securing us a 10% discount and my mum has paid off my dress. So we've sorted the dress, venue, car, flowers, guests coach, suits and photographer. Down side is there's no much else there's not much I can do now apart from save like crazy lol. Just wish people would stop telling off for been too organised! Nice to know there's so many other brides getting organised though ?

We've booked our venue and that's it!! Don't think we'll be doing anything else til 2015 as there is no way I'll have time with two under 18 months..... Lol
