I have bought my bridesmaid dresses and decided on my favours. I think I have found my videographer too. Just waiting to confirm what we get included on the final DVD then we're going to book.

Hi All! Our date is 29th April 2017! Currently going through waves and lapses of excitement! Venue and registrar booked. Going to ask our bridesmaids and groomsmen at Christmas. Need to sort a photographer...got a lot on the short list!

Yes! Every time I tell someone our date (29th Apr 2017) they look at me like I'm on another planet! It was 17 months yesterday to the day, doesn't sound so far then, eek

So far we've got church, venue, photographer and a pianist booked. Next up is cars (finding them surprisingly hard!) and flowers (consultation in April!).

Yes! When I say July....they get all excited and then when I say 2017, they look all disappointed!

I ordered our save the dates today as they were a bargain at £38 for 100 magnets including the envelopes.

So far we have booked the venue, accommodation for everyone for the weekend, registrar, caterers, DJ and photographer. I have bought the bridesmaid dresses, my veil and the save the dates. X

I'm a 2017 bride. Getting married on 6th May and that's all I know!

We're looking at venues at the minute, my first choice was booked for that day and since that weekend is our anniversary for becoming an official couple and getting engaged the weekend was more important than the venue.

Hopefully we can get some viewings in before Christmas for venues who have confirmed availability because I want to beat the people who get engaged at Christmas to the venues. We have a few ideas though.

I'm now just worried for photographers and make up artists if people are booking up so quickly.

We booked our venue in September and time is going so fast actually! Done the insurance, registrar, photographer and my dress. Next job is entertainment, florist and cake and then I can relax a bit. Have run out of money for the moment though haha so gotta wait till we have saved a bit more! I keep being naughty and looking at the for sale pages!

Our venue is Northbrook Park in Surrey. We have booked that and the registrar, but so far that's all.

I have fallen for a perfect dress which will be available in shops in Feb 2016, so I'm thinking about trying it on right away, even though it'll be quite early to try dresses.

You sound really organised too! I am currently sulking as I want to book an amazing videographer but my OH is saying it is too expensive. Yes, it's expensive but you get what you pay for and I have done soooooo much research. I am really struggling to find a decent videographer for under the £2000 mark. Eek!

The amount of saving to do is crazy! But, if you find a bargain......!!! X

Wow everyone seems much more organised than we are!

We've booked the venue, registrar and photographer and I've ordered save the dates but not sent them out as I don't want them to get caught up in the Christmas post. I don't really know when the best time to send them out is, but I thought January 2016 for June 2017 seemed reasonable?

I was thinking the exact same thing, we get married in May 2017 and was going to send save the dates out in jan!

we have booked venue, registrar and just started looking for my dress last week!!!

Luckily got cake, photography, dj and singer and hairdresser already sorted as all family or friends who can offer their services!!! So hopefully will reduce costs!!

I've got quite lucky as my package includes the cake and some flowers, but I'll definitely be trying to call in some favours!

I'd not even thought of save the dates! I suppose that's something to think of once I know where I'm getting married!

We're going to see two venues before Christmas that I've arranged. I'm waiting for a few more to confirm they have availability and that they're actually in our price range.

I ended up taking the bridesmaid dresses back on the last day to get a refund (there's nothing like living dangerously hey?!) as, after looking at pics of my bridesmaids trying them on, I decided I didn't really like them! I am going to wait now until after I get my dress so that I can check that they go together!

I ordered our save the dates too! They were a bargain on Vista Print. I'm not sure when to hand them out though as the OH seriously needs to cut his guest list! X

We've finally started looking at Photographers (yay)

Our guest list is currently a source of contention and we can't do anything invitation wise until THAT is sorted/I lock my mother in a room where she has no input

Fiancé has finally chosen a Best Man, just need to ask him now haha

Tell me about it. Every conversation that we have about the guest list ends in an argument! We have paid for 100 day guests with an extra 40 in the evening. I only have around 35 days guests and around five or six evening guests. So far, the evening guest list is at 56!! He is also talking about inviting MORE people on top! I put my foot down and said if he invites anymore over the 140, then he is paying for them out of his own money! I don't think that is unreasonable as, so far, we have paid 50/50 for everything! So far, his mum has insisted that we invite her nine cousins from up north which is really annoying me as we never see them and paying for nine guests is going to cost us around £1000. Grrrrr! X

I am getting married in the New Forest

Yeah I have read about how having a videographer is worth it but I have always known that I wouldn't be able to afford one so am trying to completely avoid the subject or I know I'll want one haha! I am currently debating whether to have a DJ or a band.....been mulling over it for like 2 weeks now and finding it impossible to decide! I want someone to tell me what to do!

Our guest list has been fairly easy as we both come from small families and have pretty much the same friends we got the provisional list sorted pretty quickly, it's just a case of bumping people up to day to meet the venues minimum numbers.

I've been looking at photographers and I'm struggling. I know how much I want to spend and that I want an engagement shot in with the price but otherwise I have no clue. I am kicking myself because I did find someone weeks ago that I liked and he had a good package offer and I didn't save his page. Now I can't remember who he was or where I found him.

I've decided I want succulents as part of my flowers and pastel greens/pinks/creams/golds in the day, but I'll leave the main colour our of that until I've gone bridesmaid dress shopping so I can see what will suit them best.

Does anyone have their honeymoon planned yet? We won't be having a huge once in a lifetime holiday because we can't leave our son (who will be 4 at the wedding) for that long. I'm thinking of taking a family trip to Disneyland Paris and then see if our family will look after the boy later in the year so we can have a long weekend to go stay in a glass igloo in Finland which I've wanted to do for years but couldn't justify the price, but for a honeymoon I could.

We *have* a guest list, but my mum (who is paying) turned around the other day and asked why there were no cousins on there. We have 48 people on the list for a venue that can accommodate 50-60 guests, which is fine but if I include cousins, their partners and their children, it adds another 20 people! At £100/head, I would have thought my mum would have rather them not been there!

Ugh, rant over!

In regards to Honeymoon, we're looking at bankrupting ourselves with a trip to Hawaii. We've always wanted to go, although those igloos sound pretty cool!

We're thinking Hawaii for honeymoon as well (via some U.S. Cities!)

We might have to have a cheeky stop off in Cali to go to Disney Land well, if we have to make the connection anyway.... haha
