Hi all,

Hope planning is going well for all 2017 brides and grooms! We're getting there with the venue, caterers, florist and photographer all booked, and I had my first wedding dress session last weekend. No decisions on the dress yet. I wanted to put the question out there about wedding insurance - has anyone found any good deals or recommendations to share?

It's just a bouncy castle in the shape of an actual castle and duck egg blue and white striped instead of being covered in cartoons. It's from Vowed and Amazed. Maybe I'm a bouncy castle snob!

If you search the forum for 'Insurance' you'll find lots of advice but FWIW, we went for John Lewis as it covered everything we needed and wasn't outrageously expensive... and if their swift and hassle free payment on our dog insurance was anything to go by, they are reliable and reputable!

My only other advice would be to avoid ANY insurance that is underwritten or provided by E&L insurance- they are well known for wriggling out of paying claims on 'small print' technicalities.... I know lots of people who have been very disappointed to say the least by their insurance- for pets, horses and events.

I've been umming and ahhing for ages about the flowers, but I've finally decided that I'm fed up of trying to do my own bouquet from comic book flowers so I'm seeing a florist on Wednesday.

I met her at a Wedding Fair and she's lovely, so I'm going to take my (poor) attempt at a bouquet and talk to her about what she can do to incorporate my flowers with fresh ones

I'm getting married 7th of April 2017. 1 Year today!

Eeeeek! Only one year how exciting, and tomorrow you can say it is less than a year! I get butterflies thinking about about being able to say that!

I can't wait until the wedding is less than a year away. It'll feel like the proper countdown has begun then!

I think I'm in one of those planning blank spaces. I've got venue, photographer, videographer and my love letters sorted. I'm meeting my florist and going dress shopping next month. My cake lady and hair and make up people are booked but both said to meet later in the year to discuss the finer details of everything. We've found our invites and OH wants to wait until later in the year to get his suit. I'm doing bridesmaids in the new year to try and get a bargain sale dress.

But I want to do something wedding-y!

Has anyone had a general planning meeting with their coordinator? Our wedding is in May so a long way off. Are we supposed to have meetings at this stage? I do have some questions but nothing that can't wait.

After a bit of a lull with anything wedding related have picked up the planning again in the past weeks! Had a make up trial at Bobbi Brown (with a view to doing it myself), tried my dress on again (thankfully still loved it!) and met with florist. Pleased I've got back into it as was starting to feel like I'd done everything too early!

My MOH has also got hen do plans underway, eek!

In response to Slink, I don't think that we get allocated a dedicated wedding coordinator until about six months before. I think we then have a couple of meetings and then a final meeting which the DJ will attend too.

I tried on dresses last weekend which was fun. I also had my hair and make up done yesterday for a night out. I loved my make up so I have messaged the make up artist and asked to book her for the wedding.

I have also booked my cake.

I have two more dress appointments before the end of the month.

I don't think I have done much more apart from that! X

Just realised it's a year and 3 days until our wedding!

To recap, so far we've:

*booked the venue (ceremony and reception);

*booked the photographer

*booked the videographer

*booked the DJ

*booked the cake

*booked the florist

*booked my hair and makeup

*ordered my dress

*bought my shoes and wrap

*bought my ring

*bough OH's suit

*booked the lion dance

*booked the registrar and paid the ceremony balance

*booked to give notice

*bought the invitations

I'm in the process of choosing a perfume for the day - narrowed it down to Hugo Boss Deep Red, Jimmy Choo Illicit, Ghost Girl, or Paco Rabanne Olympea. Next steps are to actually give notice, buy OH's ring, and order the BM dresses. Then, in August, we have a meeting with the travel company to book the honeymoon ?

ONE YEAR TO GO!!!!!!!!!!!!???

Hi all, I have x2 tickets to the Wedding Fair Excel in London for tomorrow, however due to a family emergency I am no longer able to go. They are print at home tickets which I can send on and I phoned See Tickets who said it is fine to transfer the tickets.

The show is 10-5pm and I'm asking for £32.00, for the x2 tickets, which is what I paid.

Hello all! After much faffing about (mostly on my part!) we have finally booked the venue ? 1st of July 2017!

I'm having a bit of a nightmare getting a decent photographer though. Who knew July 2017 would be considered "last minute"!
