Boxes for our favours arrived yesterday, which is great, and I've stolen a big tall box from work which we're hopefully DIYing into a card box to fit our Superhero theme... I'll keep you posted!

I've got an appointment booked with our wedding coordinator tomorrow! The lady who I booked our venue with has left, so I've got someone new, excited to meet her ? booked my photographer last week, got a really good deal and I've just booked the cars for myself & my bridesmaids £600 for 2 matching cars, a daimler laundaulette limousine and a badsworth laundaulette saloon both in blue/ivory.

Quick question - What's everyone else doing about getting the groom & his boys to the venue? When my sister got married her husband made his own way there with his best man and ushers, but everywhere I've looked on Google suggests he should get a fancy car as well.

All sounds great!

We were wondering this too - I looked at hiring FI a batmobile to arrive in, but honestly nobody will really see him.

At the moment, he's thinking he'll get ready at the hotel so that he's already there. Otherwise, he'd just grab a lift with someone or get a taxi knowing him.

My W2B wants to drive herself and her brother to the venue so is going to look at hiring a fancy car - apparently you can do that for a couple of hours and then someone comes to collect! She loves Aston Martin DB9's so I suspect if possible that will be first on her list.....have absolutely no idea of the cost of that though!

That's my thoughts too, i don't want to spend a fortune on a car that nobody's even going to see, as much as it would be nice for him.

As I'm staying at my Dad's the night before he's going to stay at our house with his best man, i offered to get him a hotel room at our venue but he said he'd prefer to stay at home, can't blame him really.

I think his Dad can take his brothers (the ushers) to the venue so they're covered. It's a shame as neither he nor the best man can drive otherwise they'd be able to borrow my dad's audi (which fits in with our colour scheme). So I might see if I can convince a friend to drive them.

OH and the groomsmen are getting a taxi.

We've had the itinerary for the Japan part of our honeymoon. It's looking incredible. Pricey, but incredible. So excited ?. Just waiting for the itinerary for the Vietnam part to come through now.

H2B is getting a helicopter to the wedding with his groomsmen and dad. We'll get everyone outside to watch him land and hopefully get some good photos and videos of the guys too. The venue have a window facing the helipad so I'm going to watch him land without him being able to see me. I'm staying in the venue the night before with a load of my family so DP can splash I out in that area instead.

I have my dress appointment tomorrow and I am so bloated. I just want to wear stretchy pants and baggy shirts not being forced into Tight dresses. Fingers crossed I feel better tomorrow.

Slink, have you tried Rennies? I suffer terrible bloating with my endometriosis and a double dose of Rennies really helps.

I've got OH's sisters looking into Chinese door games to challenge him and the groomsmen with before they're allowed access to the venue ?. Obviously, he can't see me before the wedding, so I'll have to see if there's a window I can covertly watch from or get my sister to record it for me on my camcorder.

I haven't tried Rennies, thanks for the tip. I felt a bit better today luckily.

I bought my wedding dress today. I picked one in May but never paid for it, and I tried a different dress on today and it suited my shape much better and I felt great. Even better was that it was in the sale so my dress, veil and alterations came in at less than £850! Its the Lilian West 6359 but I'm not having a belt. My mum is lending me her pearl necklace to go with it and I got a long veil too.

Ooo yay! and what a bargain. It's a beautiful dress, very classy x

so today, I found my dress. I was absolutely dreading today. Initally I was massively overwhelmed. But my mum and sisters were with me and they were amazing. I haven't paid my deposit yet as im going back in 8 weeks after some serious dieting and hair overhaul to get a better image of how I want to look on my wedding day! But it is absolutely stunning, I didn't want to take it off. Opening the curtains to see my mum and sisters well up saying wow was incredible! It is a dress I never thought I would choose, it's not even white or Ivory! I'm trying to find it online but I can't. It's a Nicole Spose dress xx

Hey Everyone!

I am new to the forum and am getting married in 2017. The exact date is 15th July 2017 which will also be our 5 year anniversary.

We got engaged in Sydney on NYE whilst visiting my family out there. My OH, Simon, told my parents a couple of hours before hand so my mum set up a camera to "film the fireworks" which at the time I didn't think twice of and its great as we have a video of the occasion even though it didn't go quite to plan!

My OH is a bit of a wind up merchant so when he got down on one knee at midnight I thought he was taking the piss, so told him to stand up as my uncle was having a party and the other guests might actually think he was being serious. When he then produced a box and asked me to marry him, I was so shocked but unbelievably happy!

Wedding planning has been so much fun so far but we haven't really done any of the nitty gritty bits yet! We have so far booked church, reception venue, photographer, caterer, florist and hair and make up. Simon and I are organising everything together and I am not a bridezillary type bride at all!

I can't wait to hear all about your wedding plans!

Honeymoon is all booked! 6 weeks travelling Japan and Vietnam. We start off in Tokyo, then visit Hakone, Kyoto, Kinosaki, Mount Koya, Osaka, Miyajima, Tsumago and Matsumoto. Then we're flying from Tokyo to Hanoi, continuing on to Ninh Binh, Hoi An, Hue, Ho Chi Minh/Saigon, and finishing off with a homestay in the Mekong Delta before flying home. ? I'm working on our Honeyfund website now in preparation for sending the invitations out in a couple of months, and putting together collages of all of the amazing places we're going.

Wow MadamRed your honeymoon sounds utterly amazing. I'm not sure what I'd be more excited about the wedding or the honeymoon! xx

We've booked a coordination meeting with our venue so I now need to make a list of all the questions I have and what other suppliers have raised. I'm also in the process of booking our pre wedding shoot so we can start building the wedding website with the photos, then the invites can be bought!

I've pinned OH down to what he wants to eat (before he just kept telling me he didn't know what he wanted to eat in a year!) So out menu will be tomato soup or prawn and crayfish cocktail, roast chicken or roast lamb and either chocolate fondant or baked cheesecake for pudding. We just need to pick the vegetarian main course now.

I feel that everything I'm now planning for the day relates to food. I think my guests are going to be stuffed!
