Hi everyone. We set our date this week for 5th August 2017. Not got much done apart from booking the venue and have bought my dress. I've got a couple of venue decorators giving quotes for centrepieces, chair covers etc. Next on the list is photographer, flowers and cake. One of my friends told me it was impossible to organise a wedding in less than a year. Just as well I have one year and 3 weeks then!

I bought a tiara today! A local shop had a sale on and when I put it on I loved it. I hadn't been sure until that point and now I keep going and trying it on when OH isn't looking!

This made me laugh.... and feel relief that I'm not the only one with a tendency to keep trying her tiara!

Take heed tho.... they are addictive...I've actually bought three!

The third one, which is the biggest and blingiest I do intend to wear on our big day...

The second one, which is similar but not quite so bling, I'm going to force my bridesmaid to wear...

The first one, which is very understated by comparison... well that one I wear every day... it lives on the shelf in the bathroom next to the expensive skin care stuff I bought to get my aging mush into the best shape I can... I use the tiara to hold my hair back every morning and evening as I 'do' my skin!! Gives me that wedding-Buzz every time

Hello everyone please add me! We are 23 sept next year. Found our dream venue but called the registrar first to check they had a decent time for 23 sept and they had2 which is perfect! So now have to pay deposit to the venue. Have picked bridesmaids and started looking at photographers.

I'm finding this stage of wedding planning a bit dull, everything is either done or a few months away from needing doing. We did have our engagement shoot last week and I'm very excited to see the photos. Then I can start researching wedding websites.

We've booked our menu tasting for 18th October which I'm really looking forward to.

I got a right bargain today. I was going to do my own sweetie buffet as I begrudged paying over £200 for it. But, I saw a great deal on FB today to hire the actual cart, bowls, jars, tongs, scoops and bags for £50. They will also set it all up for me as I want to provide my own sweets (works out cheaper) so that's one problem sorted (I was worried about setting it all up and the sweets going stale etc).

I also feel like I need a tiara to wear around the house now! I have a spare veil so that will do ? X

We booked our minimoon and paid our deposit recently... the deposit was a whole £25!! Can't beat a hoseasons holiday park deal ?

I think I may wear my tiara for our entire minimoon!

Confirmed 1st September 2017. Church booked (Dad's a deacon so he's doing the ceremony) reception venue booked, dress bought (somewhat unexpectedly) and shoes (feel like Cinderella in them!) cousin's partner is a professional wedding photographer so that's sorted, and OH's friend from work is supplying his classic VW campervan (and his driving skills!) as the wedding car. Future sister in law is very creative and doing the invitations, a family friend is doing the flowers and my friend and I are making the cake. I'm trying to think of what else I need to do! Apart from continuing to be very excited, of course!

As someone who is more or less done in terms of planning, I suggest just doing what needs to be done

Our Wedding isn't for months yet and I am just SO EXCITED. But also, fairly relaxed as I know that there's plenty of time to deal with any issues

Thank you! My Dad doing the ceremony is the bit I'm most excited about - I feel very emotional when I think about it. He's currently trying to decide about walking me up the aisle - it's gone from doing it in his suit, then putting his vestments over the suit when we reach the altar to having my Mam or my uncle (also my Godfather) walk me. I've told him I'm happy with whatever he wants to do, and he can choose on the day - Mam and my uncle will happily step in if needed. I think they've decided my Mam is going to give a speech at the reception instead of him as he'll have the homily in the service to do his!
Biggest thing at the moment is deciding what the bridesmaids are going to wear - we've got a colour planned (dark red/burgandy) and the little flower girls are easy enough to sort (nearer the time!) but finding dresses which match and also suit all three of my grown-up bridesmaids is proving trickier as they are very different builds. Hey ho, I guess there's plenty of time, still!

Looks like I'm going to be the first one added to the list as a January bride. We are getting married on our 10 year anniversary on January 5th!

You're all making me feel very unprepared ? We have venue & registrar booked, my dress is bought, and we have a cake... annd that's about it so far... guess I need to get cracking!

I'm beginning to wonder if H2B knows me at all! ? He came in from work this morning & carried on a conversation we'd been having about honeymoons (we're thinking now we'll go to Thailand a few months after the wedding), & said we can just book the minimoon we're planning a couple of weeks before the wedding on Travelzoo or similar! I can imagine that two weeks before the wedding the last thing I'll need to be stressing about is that we haven't booked anywhere to go straight after.

I sometimes wish I was far more laid back! ?

I just got slightly emotional on receiving the unexpected call to say my dress is in. WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME?!??

I am loving the concept of the bathroom tiara! that has really lifted my day.

Yep, even if nothing else goes to plan I can sit in my dress and eat my body weight in wedding cake... Still going to be the best day of my life either way ?

Venue, photographer, flowers, DJ, cake all booked. Stationary on its way.

Sitting in my dress, drinking fizz and eating cake is pretty much all I care about for my wedding day! As long as I can do that and end up married at the end of it nothing else matters.

(remind me of this six weeks before the wedding day when I'm stressing about napkins, or something similar okay?)

We had a lucky break yesterday that a friend of my OH tried to book a room at the venue to be told they were fully booked. The other venue had booked out a lot of the rooms and there were only 7 left. Luckily I only needed 7 additional rooms so I've reserved them. Although, I am a little worried the receptionist I spoke to could only see one room in my name for the day and there should be 5. I asked for the wedding planner to call me back yesterday and still nothing, so I'll be chasing her on Monday to make sure that we have all the rooms that we need, including some of the specific rooms that I had asked for. I got OH to buy his friend a beer as we would have no idea about it if he hadn't tried to book himself.

We finally got to book the helicopter today too, so I need to sort out the rooms for the guys to stay in the night before.

I met with a lady this evening regarding designing our wedding invitations. I'm very excited to get the sample.

I've also booked an appointment to get measured for my wedding dress, 3rd November! Eek! X

Another 2017 bride to be here. Wedding date October 7th. Already on top of things only need to to get MOH dress but she wants to lose some weight (as do I).

I've managed to get my first choice venue. (prentended to want to look at other places but my dad said no! who am I to argue)

My mum calls me Bridezilla (shes sick of my pintrest links and my dad is dadzilla (he doesnt want cheap looking flowers and centerpeices keep[s hinting at other stuff too lol)

My oh is just going along with it. He doesnt have an opinion on it tbh, but things like menu and the cake he wants invloved in apart from that its all me.
