I had a dream that my dress came in last night and it was perfect! I want to try it on again so bad haha!

How long did it take for dresses to come in for you guys? The shop said October but I'm so impatient!

I cannot wait 7 months haha! It was ordered on the 9th of June and they did say it would come in October. I've lost a little weight so I'm desperate to try it on and see how it looks now.

Worst part of wedding planning - waiting to play with all the lovely things you've been buying/arranging ?

Hahaha I was the same Smiley smile

My dress is now at my Mum's - I try it on a lot Smiley tongue

If they're saying October, it probably won't be too long now Smiley smile mine took longer because it was ordered in the longest length (unusual apparently!) and because I ordered it like 18 months out ?

Maybe make a list of acceptable times? Smiley smile

I *obviously* had to try it on when it arrived so that I could get pictures in it and check that it fitted/wasn't damaged etc.

Then the next time I tried it on was when I had bought jewellery to go with it to make sure it went Smiley smile

I don't know if I'll need to put it on again before March (first fitting!) but I feel better having tried it on on a few occasions Smiley smile

I'm going on Saturday to try it on because it;s just arrived. I don't expect it will fit, so I think I might book an appointment for a couple of months time so I can see how I'm fitting into it. I'm hoping it will keep me on track. And if I'm paying that much for a dress I want to wear it as many times as I possibly can haha xx

My dress is staying firmly at the bridal shop until the week before the wedding... otherwise I just know I'd be trying it on constantly... I also know my dearly beloved would be WAY too tempted to have a peek if it was in the house!

I've been cracking on in the last couple of weeks... most of the invitation suites are now made, I just need to finish off the last few RSVP cards and envelopes and put it all together.... kind of wish I hadn't decided to hand emboss and stamp EVERY little bit of the invitations, I have a repetitive strain injury from doing it!!

I also went to the last wedding fayre before my big day at my venue last weekend and double checked a few things and refreshed my love of it!

Best news so far recently is that there is NOT a wedding the day before mine at our venue- which means I can stay over there the night before and get ready there in the morning- that is SUCH a relief! If I wasn't doing 'Sober October' I'd have had a bottle of fizz to celebrate!

I've also had a trial with a make-up lady and it turned out well! Last one I had I felt like a painted doll so had almost decided to do my own... then saw someone on facebook and decided to have another trial- really glad I did because now she's booked I feel a great sense of relief.

I've also decided to add yet more DIY stuff to my list of things to do! I must be mad...! Still, I have seven months to get it all finished... that's long enough, right?! ? ?

Yeah 7 months is PLENTY of time... ? I keep telling myself the same thing!

My dress is at my sister's & I'm planning on trying it on every 2 months or so to check I'm on plan with the weight loss - it fitted me when I bought it so don't want to make it impossible to alter if I lose too much, as there's no room in the budget for a last-minute replacement.

My dad's started on the centrepieces & he's bringing one down at the weekend for quality control & sign-off! I feel like I should be doing more at this stage now we've passed the 8 months mark, but there's not much I can crack on with. My BM is on hols for a fortnight & then we're going to get together to design my wedding invites - exciting!

It's really exciting to hear about all your dresses. I've just started the process of having one made. I can't wait to see it starting to take shape. I'd like to lose a few lbs, well 14 of them but as it stands the dress will fit me unless I go a bit mad. The dressmaker did say she'd leave it until after Christmas until putting the fastenings on. I must look like a woman who likes her food ?.

Ordering canapes this week - had not realised how expensive they are! We're having them at our venue before we go elsewhere for our recption. Wehave to use one of three designated suppliers so way back at the beginning i got a quote and was very pleased with myself at my cleverness in planning and budgeting. turns out that quote didnt include vat, cooking, serving or transporting the damn things. we're going to go ahead with them because the prices are not unreasonable, just more than i was expecting. Sigh. On the plus side our epic prosecco tasting went well - we bought all the cava and prosecco from the discounters and did a taste off to find our favourite with the best man and bridesmaid. It was a tough job but they both stepped up like pros for us, even if they did pick the most expensive - £7.49 from aldi if anyone is interested!

    Welcome new Brides! Smiley smile

Katiepoppycat - Canapes are ridiculous aren't they? We get a chef's selection as part of our package, but if we wanted to choose them it's £11.50 per guest! Um... no lmao

Prosecco tasting sounds absolutely brill! Smiley smile

    Rant warning!

We spoke to a venue dresser that I worked with when I was in hotels to do our wedding. I don't really want a lot of flowers and they had lots of ideas to make it wedding-y using candles and other pretty things. We agreed to book them and it just depended on us meeting at the venue to make sure what we were talking about would work. We arranged a date and they cancelled at the last minute due to illness. No drama - these things happen. I emailed them to rebook and didn't get a reply. I chased them about 10 days later and they emailed back to advise they are closing at the end of the year and can't do our wedding. I got really mad - I don't believe they wouldn't have known that when they were talking with me - but there's nothing I could do about it so we moved on.

They gave me the name of the company they have sold most of their stock to and it turns out they did my friends wedding so I emailed them. They confirmed they were free on our date and asked me to send what I had arranged with the first company so they could see what they offer price wise. I did that and it turns out in the 24 hours it took me to reply they had booked another wedding and couldn't do mine!

So now we have no venue dresser and I'm going to need to look at florists. It's not the end of the world but you know how you have this idea in your head of how things are going to look and then you find out you can't get it. I'm trying to ward off my inner bridezilla but I'm so disappointed ?

I'm up in Scotland - central area.

I've emailed a couple of companies but I was already a bit weary of using someone without a recommendation so now I'm even more stressy!

I know it will sort itself out but I'm having a day of being stroppy about it haha!

It was our "1 year to go" pre anniversary yesterday :-) so we went out for dinner & bubbles to celebrate lol.

Our planning has gone a bit quiet lately as we're doing a lot of home improvements and currently have builders in knocking down walls and moving things around so pretty chaotic...but we do have menu tasting with 2 caterers in the next fortnight to enable us to make a final decision and get them booked in, and I have another dress appointment end of Nov with my bridesmaids so maybe I'll get lucky! We're looking at music/entertainment options at the moment too to figure out what we want...we haven't sent STD's as we've been debating whether to or not, or just send invites out early 2017.

I sway between panicking that we haven't done much to then thinking we have loads of time and there only being so many hours in the day.....but of course all will be fine ;o)

Currently going through the same dilemma! Our wedding is 19/11/17 so as it's not in the summer and on a weekend (albeit Sunday) I don't know if sending STD's is really necessary. We might just send the invites early, although we have to decide on food before we send the invites so that might be a bit more tricky!

Doing pretty well here, much better than I ever thought I could Smiley smile

about 5 months to go and we have sorted the venue, catering, music, dress & groomswear, photographer, rings are bought. The main thing is just paying for everything ?

We had a taster with our afternoon caterer the other day and it was amazing! It was Cornish cream tea. I'd been worried that afternoon tea might not fill everyone up but I'm certainly not worried about that anymore. And that was without the pasties which are coming from a bakery in Cornwall for the big day. Should definitely keep people satisfied until the chip can later on. I'm really excited now Smiley smile

we've sent invitations so now it's just waiting to see the replies to sort a seating plan (ahhhhhhhh) and then I guess the last minute panic and small details.

    Main issues:

extreme nerves! (Not marriage doubts, but I struggle with social anxiety)

need to lose a few lbs, as last time I tried on my dress, it was a bit of a squeeze oops!
