I've had the call today to say my dress has arrived in store!!

Eeeeekk so excited to try it on again!

6 months tomorrow and I'll be getting married! I don't even know where the time has gone.

I bought my bridesmaid dress today, and it was so much easier than I thought it would be. We bought the second dress that was tried on and then i got to try my dress on too! I need to crack on with the diet, I couldn't breathe!

Next step is making up our day invitations and I've want to have a go at making some paper and fabric flowers for decoration. I'd been worrying about décor, but I had forgotten that I had budgeted for it after all until I looked the other day.

We were 6 months and 3 weeks yesterday! We have been planning for a year now and when we started it felt like we had so long to go and now it feels like it's coming around far too fast. We have some serious saving to do over the next few months.

I ordered all my BM dresses last week which was surprisingly easy. We went for Dessy dresses in platinum and all the girls have different styles and today we ordered our wedding rings. I'm a bit nervous though as they didn't have my ring in the shop to try with my engagement ring so I'm trusting the lady that they will sit nicely together.

We ordered the stuff for the Wedding Invitations today, yay!

These have been the bane of my existence, I swear. So many arguments... BUT they're on their way!

We had our 6 month meeting with the venue yesterday and it went really well. She cleared up a few misunderstandings and we added a couple of extras to our day

We've decided to have a "bubbles station" which involves prosecco, bellinis, bucks fizz.... yum it'll be available for the evening guests when they arrive

7 months & 10 days to go! Eeek!

Picked up my wedding ring at the weekend & I keep trying it on sneakily when H2B is out! ? It's too pretty! The sooner I can get it locked up in my sister's safe the better TBH!

We printed the first text part to the invitations so we can build them, OH is in charge of the maths to make sure they're all centred up properly. Neither of us are looking forward to doing the actual work. Then we can move on to the insert printing. We've only done the day invitations so far, as they're pocket folds with lots of ribbon decoration. I just want postcard style for the evening and so hopefully won't take as long.

I'm really into doing all the text designing, I've started working on the menus too.

I'm jealous of everyone getting their rings, that's an after Christmas job I think.

But you will have ring shopping to look forward to after Christmas ?

A late arrival to the group i was reading your comments but never was brave enough to post anything!!! We are getting married on the 16th June so far we have booked photographer, venue, church, florist, dj, found the dress and veil. And we are just about to book a videographer although his facebook page is not updated and he is not in any suppliers list!!! They are called artistic motion has anyone heard of them? Im just paranoid i will paid the deposit and never hear from them again!!Their website looks good though!!

I'm in the middle of invitation assembling and so far OH has found something more important to do every time I sit down to do it. I hope this isn't going to be a theme for all our DIY as I actually think he'd be much better than me. Far more patience and attention to detail.

I am probably a bit late to all of this, I am getting married 25.02.17 so just over three months to go! Have mostly paid and planned everything apart from all the little bits and table plan Eeek! The venue is the last thing we have to pay and the most expensive. I have been reading the posts on here and cannot believe some of you have been on here since 2015! I am so impatient, we booked the wedding with 10 months to go and it has gone fast, I can't believe it, it seems to have slowed down the nearer it's got now xxx

3 months today till the big day. Èek. Most things are done but still feel like there's not going to be enough time to do everything. Time seems to be going so fast .

It's my hen do next weekend and that makes things feel really real.

Hello everyone, it sounds like everyone's plans are coming along.

We had our menu tasting - delicious and we're now having invitations made and RSVP's for menu choices. H2B has suddenly become animated about invitations, very odd.

His suit is at the tailors and just needs final fitting. My dress is coming along, I've had 3 fittings for the bodice pattern alone, it's strange I'm getting excited about a strip of white canvas!

I've also got my shoes, I'll send them off to get dyed, and I got a tiara ... well 2 but I'll give 1 to my bridesmaid.

i'm just hoping RSVP's don't throw any curveballs. I'm not anticipating any but maybe I'm just being naive lol.

We've started distributing invitations! Yay

H2B has also started asking people to be his Ushers (finally lol) so might get suits sorted sometime this century

I love seeing how things are coming along with everyone! My dress and the bridesmaids have arrived and are hanging up at my mums! I have to resist the temptation to go and play with them but I'm doing well so far!

OH got his kilt as well as the best mans and the ushers at the weekend so that's another thing off the to do list!

If we could just get the venue dressers to pull their fingers out we would have everything done!

Boys! My OH is just as bad - he faffed about with everything I've asked him to do! Just gently nag him for a date - apart from anything else he needs to tell the usher when he's free!

About 4 months to go for me, and I'm really excited, but also getting scared now.

we have had a brilliant time planning, most things are sorted now and all that's left really is the painful act of paying for things ?

Yesterday I took my dress to a seamstress and I shall see it again for my next fitting in January. Invites have gone out. I still need to have a hair and make up trial and decide what I'm doing. We also need to choose some more ceremony music, which is hard.

im most excited about putting together my playlist for the reception!!

We'll be at the six months mark at the weekend, I can't believe the time has gone so quickly. I get butterflies when I think about it, there is still so much to do. We haven't even started to discuss the ceremony and music.

We have ordered our invites and they should be dispatched any day now, I'm getting impatient waiting for them.

I am hoping to be able to skive off work a little bit on Wednesday as my dress arrived in the shop a month ago but I haven't had time to go and try it on yet.

Just under 5 months to go for me, my dress arrived last week so I have tried it on and currently it's sitting at my parents house. I was terrified that it wasn't going to fit but it's perfect and few alterations needed in January!

My OH is pretty laid back so I think it's a man thing to either need telling or a bit of a kick up the bum!

How awkward! People get so funny around weddings! I've had a few people recently assume they're getting an all day invite and I've had to (politely) uninvite them - even though we didn't invite them in the first place haha! Thankfully my bridesmaids are fantastic - although there's still plenty of time for that to change ?

Saturday was my one year to go! Feels like ages away when you ladies are all getting so close but it's exciting to think about it being less than a year now

My bridal party is now complete and I've ordered potential dresses for them!

Less than six months to go for us now, and it's all beginning to feel very real and a bit scary!

I went to see the lady who is making our cake the other day, she's an amazing artist with a real passion for what she does, and I am SO excited about her plans for our cake... can't say much here as I don't want my OH to catch sight of it as some of it is a surprise for him ?

I am also cracking on with all my DIY projects.. flower stands are done, wish tree is finished, post box is finished, all the elements of our invitations are pretty much finished and just need putting together and I'm in the process of making a few other bits 'cause I'm a glutton for punishment!

Today was our '6 months before' meeting at our venue and I am absolutely delighted... we went through all the details and nothing was too much trouble for them, including swapping the house white which is Chardonnay which I don't like for a really nice Pinot at no extra cost and advising us on lots of little things we weren't sure about- questions that I'm sure they get asked by EVERYONE but they didn't make us feel like we were asking silly questions!

I was also absolutely delighted with the final quote from the venue... I had worked out roughly what I thought it would cost, but wasn't sure on the cost of some things and what was and wasn't included- transpires I've over budgeted by £1500... RESULT!!! ? ? ?

2BeMrsC that's a fantastic saving!! I wish you'd written our budget haha!

MrsQtobe your bridesmaid sounds horrific!!!! It's easy for me to say but I would dump her! It doesn't sound like she wants to be a part of your day anyway so is there a polite way of getting her to step down? If not it's time to put the foot down. She's being rude and you're entitled to tell her! I'd have rammed the bag down her throat for being such a madam! You'll have a better time without her at the hen I think!

The dress sounds concerning. If she doesn't reply about the fitting tell her she needs to come or arrange a suitable date. Pregnant ladies only get bigger and she must be aware of that! She's better to get a dress that fits rather than trying to squeeze into one that doesn't.

Sack her! It's Thursday, it's cold and I burnt my hand on the straighteners this morning - so I'd sack her! In fact - give me her number, I'll do it just now ?

2BeMrsC that's so exciting having your 6 month meeting! What kind of questions did you ask them? We've got our next meeting in the new year but I haven't really thought about what I need to ask, maybe I'd better start a list...

MrsQtobe I hope your bridesmaid comes round. It's so rude of her to be ungrateful that you bought her a bag and fancy not telling your she was pregnant! Maybe there is something else that is bothering her?

Now that 2017 is so close, it makes everything feel so much closer!

11th November our date we have most things booked, getting married at Bolton Holiday Inn in the Cloister Suite (converted from an old church).

We've been engaged a year now can't believe how quickly it's gone!!!

It was very exciting, even more so when we got the quote ?

The questions I had were mostly tiny details (I'm a bit OCD about the details!) like how late the bar would stay open for residents (I don't want it open TOO late!) and what the vegetarian option is for the Hog Roast... then there were some 'instructions' like DO NOT cut our wedding cake up to give the guests- we are providing 'cutting cakes' for guests and are taking the actual cake home- not least of which because half of it will be decorated polystyrene!

I also wanted to know about setting up and taking down of our (numerous) decorations- the venue kindly sets out favours and decs on tables, but I have a wish tree that I want to decorate myself and have a very clear picture in my head about what goes where... as I said, I'm a bit OCD about the details!

There were a few important questions like do those children opting for the kids menu (chicken nuggets, chips and beans *insert vomit smiley*!) get a starter and can they choose a dessert from the menu other than 'ice cream' which is the 'kids' option (yes, they choose a starter, yes they can have a dessert from the main menu!) and things like swapping orange juice for Shloer or similar 'fizzy pop' for the non drinkers for the toast.

Basically I sat down with a piece of paper, and ran through the day from me getting there the night before to the very end in my head, and anything I wasn't sure about I wrote down to ask!

Mrs Qtobe... I cannot believe how rude your bridesmaid has been- I'm afraid I just wouldn't tolerate it, no matter how close a friend she is- I'd be binning her!! ?

I'm impressed your putting up with her - so kudos to you! If everyone else knows she's rubbish it's probably easier to just ignore her! And to be honest with that kind of behaviour she's only showing herself up to be a bit of a spoiled brat. Enjoy your planning and just keep ignoring her.

We still have 7 months ? I'm so impatient - I want it to be today! But then I remember how much I still have to do and I'm glad I've got more time!

6 months & 3 weeks ish here I think! Eeek!

I was very proud of H2B this week - we went Christmas shopping & he suggested popping into a wedding party shop & made his first purchase! ? Some cufflinks for him & all of the ushers & BM etc, but it's a start! I think something has clicked & he's started to think about what they're all going to wear & the logistics etc - he's even got a little pinterest board going! ?

Signed off the invites this morning so they'll be printed in the next few weeks & I can get them ready to send out in the new year - I need to pull together all the addresses & make sure we have partner's names right etc, so that'll keep me busy.

Oh yes & bunting! Hoping to get the last few triangles of bunting done but I need to figure out how long to make each strip of bunting but I guess it depends on the size & style of marquee (which is being changed for next year)... decisions decisions!
