4th wedding anniversary

bigpants, 8 July, 2008 at 19:40 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 21

I'm confused...I've just googled '4th wedding anniversary' and some sites say it's 'linen' some say 'flowers' others say ' fruit'.

What did you get hubby for your 4th anniversary?

There's different lists but the main arethe traditional and modern ones, traditional is fruit / flowers, modern is appliances.

As for what I got / gave, the answer is nothing as we stopped bothering with gifts after the first one! Our annivesary falls around a holiday weekend so we always go away.

I know a lot of people stop buying presents, but I quite like giving HUBBY something - twee/twatish as it may be?

It's our 4th this month Bigpants, been hard work getting here I can tell you lol!!

MrSun will be lucky to get a box of maltesers, i'm completely skint. We'll be having a meal out and going dutch. I don't even consider the cotton/ruby/silver or whatever aspect of it, MrSun wouldn't have a clue about that anyway.

Linen - get him an apron and tell him to do the dishes lol!

We were on holiday in Cyprus for our 4th anniversary last month. Hubs (I'm kidding!) bought me some flowers when we got back, but for our actual anniversary we went out for a meal and drank loads of Long Island Ice Teas afterwards and watched the BB housemates go in ?

Romance is clearly dead in the Peach household.

We didn't do presents, or even cards for our 4th this year. But we did splash out on a trip to San Diego & Vegas. So I guess that counts?!

I thought it was linen too btw

Thanks for your replies - although it appears that I'm in the minority then when it comes to anniversary presents for 'hubby'. ? I enjoy buying him things so will keep thinking of something.

BP, it's hard enough buying presents for him for his birthday (in a couple of weeks) and Christmas, never mind anniversary too! Wish it were more simple, but there you have it.

We'd previously decided the holiday was present to each other enough. And as for cards - well they just didn't happen this year! Found him a great one for his birthday though!

Given our bank balance I think we will go for the 'fruit and flowers' option for our 4th later this year. We both love fresh flowers in the house so it will be sometihng we will both appreciate and yet not too expensive.

Would your hubby like some flowers too? Or maybe a gardening voucher to chose a plant?

Peaches, men are diffiuclt to buy for so completely understand (and is why I'm struggling).

Sunnystar, not sure I can wait for 60 years for a diamond either - I'm wonder whether 'hubby' will wrap a diamond necklace up in a linen pillowcase??!!

It's our 5th on Saturday and we're not even going to buy a card for each other but we are going out for a nice meal. I see no point in buying each other a present for it.

Haha yeah those anniversary “themes” are all over the place depending on the list 😄

honestly I’d just treat it as an excuse to do something a bit personal rather than sticking strictly to linen/fruit/flowers. something small but meaningful usually hits better than trying to follow the “rules”.

for example, I once saw someone make a custom message/card with a nicely styled quote instead of a typical gift, using tools like letrasbonitas.com.es to play around with letras para wedding and make it look unique. simple idea but it actually felt way more thoughtful.

in the end it’s less about the theme and more about what feels “you guys” 👍

It's funny how every anniversary guide seems to list something different for the 4th year! 😄

Personally, I think the traditional themes are more of a suggestion than a rule. The gifts I've seen people appreciate most are the ones that have a personal touch behind them.

For example, a customized anniversary message, framed quote, or handmade card can be much more meaningful than buying something just because it matches the "official" theme. If you're looking for ideas to make a message stand out, I recently used Letras Bonitas to find some creative lettering styles and make a card feel a bit more special.

In the end, it's not really about whether the gift is linen, flowers, or fruit—it's about celebrating the memories you've created together and making the day feel unique to your relationship.

I’ve been reading a lot of discussions about UK gaming platforms lately, and one thing that keeps coming up is how different the real experience can be compared to what promotional pages suggest. Things like withdrawals, verification checks and payment processing often matter much more than the initial bonuses. While looking for more practical breakdowns, I came across https://monopoly-casino-uk2.com/ which explains login process, payment methods, withdrawal expectations, mobile usability and bonus conditions in a clearer, more realistic way than most short reviews. It helped me better understand what actually happens after registration instead of just focusing on marketing offers. Curious how others here usually evaluate a new platform — what do you check first?

The confusion over 4th anniversary themes is so real — every list seems to say something different! 😄 Honestly I think the traditional themes are just a jumping-off point. Some of the most appreciated anniversary gestures I've seen are the ones with a personal message behind them rather than a "correct" gift. If you want to make a card or note feel a bit more special without spending much, there are some fun tools out there for adding unique text styles. I've used espacio Unicode en blanco before to add a hidden message inside a digital card — little surprise touches like that can make something simple feel really thoughtful. Whatever you decide, it's the sentiment that counts! 🥂

From what I've seen, the traditional 4th anniversary gift depends on the country. In the UK it's usually fruit and flowers, while in the US it's often fruit/flowers too, and some modern gift lists mention linen or appliances. 😅

To be honest, I think the best gift is something your partner will actually love rather than following a list! check status

For our 4th, I'd have gone for something personal like a weekend away, a nice dinner, or a gift linked to a shared memory. ❤️

Custom names can make a wedding card design feel more elegant, personal, and memorable. Choosing a unique font style for the couple's names helps create a beautiful focal point and adds a special touch to the invitation. Designers often experiment with decorative lettering, calligraphy, and stylish typography to match the wedding theme. For creative inspiration and unique text styles, you can explore https://fontedeletra.com/letras-diferentes/nomes-personalizados/ , which offers a variety of personalized name designs suitable for wedding invitations, save-the-date cards, and other special event stationery.

Well, if you ask me, I would definitely want something flashy, techy, and thoughtful. My recommendation is to give your hubby an action camera or a smartwatch.
