50s style/vintage headpiece

28 November, 2013 at 16:18 Posted on Planning 0 17

Good afternoon ladies,

I tried on a beautiful pearl headpiece yesterday but I felt it was more 1920s than the 1950s style I am going for with my short lace dress and vintage movie theme...plus it was £250!!

I have really dark long hair and I am planning on loose waves, maybe pulled to the side. I am looking for something that will sit on the side, such as one mounted on a headband or a comb...rather than a tiara-type style.

Any ideas will be appreciated!

Thanks

C

Where have you looked? My current fave is Ivory and Co. They have loads of options on there. Not the cheapest but not the most expensive either.

Hello! I loved my headpiece, was made for me by Andrea at www.themodernvintagebride.co.uk. She has loads of gorgeous vintage inspired pieces, and she will also do bespoke, like mine:

I think they're a HIB on here too. I love love love their stuff. We used it on a shoot we did once and it was just perfect, so pretty and well made.

    Have you looked on Etsy?

That's where I got mine from, it's a one-off made with a vintage pearl bow...

Have you considered having a birdcage veil, something like below? (I also make this without the veil)

Have you got a picture of your dress? Mainly because I am nosey, but also would be good to see them together! Love those ones that you have picked so far

I was about to recommend Modern Vintage Bride. I've seen lots of headpieces and headbands made by them, they're all gorgeous!
