50s Theme

Hello Everyone

Im going to be having a 50s village fete/post war street party (if that makes sense) theme, and I want my guests to dress in those sort of clothes. Tea dresses for the girls, but what would I say I wanted the men to wear?

Now I know a lot of you dont like theme weddings, but I do. And the guests I have told about it, cant wait!

    Trousers with braces and shirts with rolled up sleeves? Maybe cloth caps? This will look so cool - and be so much fun! You are lucky to have such enthusiastic friends coming to the wedding - if everyone is up for it, it will be brilliant!

    Unless they're coming as the T-Birds from Grease (which would rock, admittedly), they could go for the slim fitted suits with a trilby... Classic 50s style.

    Single breasted suits should be enough, for the men. Or if you want a really uber relaxed look, cotton shirts, waist coats, braces.

    My cousin had a 50s theme which was all rock-a-billy and looked fabulous... we had a 40s theme to ours so I love themes.... look forward to seeing your ideas come together...

    Sounds brilliant! I was went to a 'blitz party' in London do a google to see loads of amazing outfits!!
