6 weeks pregnant & Wedding booked

Liz, 7 of March of 2024 at 14:30 Posted on Planning 0 2
Hi 👋

I’m 6 weeks pregnant and have my wedding booked for July next year. The baby will be born around Nov this year.
Should I be trying on dresses just now and purchase one or am I best to wait until next year?
I’m unsure because I’ve heard it can take 6-8 months for gowns to be ordered in and that’s not even getting alterations! I’ve had a baby before and lost the added weight and went down to my post baby size rather quickly but this time could be different!
I’m not sure what’s best. Any advice would be appreciated.
Thank you

If you would be happy to go with an off-the-peg dress (e.g. sample sale, second hand, high street, mail order) then you can leave it until post-baby, and that might make the most sense, since I've heard a lot of people say that what they want in a dress changes after they've had a baby.

But if you are wanting to order one in then you will need to shop pre-baby.

Yes, I might do something like that. I’m not sure how I will feel after baby. I would hate to get something then change my mind.

Thank you so much for this advice.
