First off, have you got wedding insurance? Secondly, get in contact with them - they may still be holding events, some one may be interested and buying them for instance. As scarey as it might seem, now is not the time to panic - do that after you've sorted it out.

Remember when you're claiming on the insurance its the cost of your invitations/table plans/anything that has that venue named on it.

Thanks. yes, we do have insurance. We know who is buying the venue, not the business. they are going to renovate it so it won't be available for a few months. this is still an option.

It's such a pity that you find this out so close to your big day, out of interest though, just reading back on your post, you only found out yesterday that they have gone into liquidation but they have a buyer already...why did they wait to let you know?, 8 weeks is fairly short notice if you do need to find somewhere else ?
